II.Installationoftheapprovedwirelessadapter

IfnointegratedPCIExpressMiniCardhasbeenpreinstalledinyourcomputer,
youcaninstallone,providedbyLenovo®asanoption.Plugthewirelessoption
adapterintothePCIExpressMiniCardslot.Fortheinstallationprocedure,see

“InstallingandreplacingthePCIExpressMiniCardforwirelessWANconnection”
inUserGuide.

Attention:Thecomputerscontainanauthenticationmechanism.Ifyouinstall
anunauthorizedPCIExpressMiniCardthatisnotapprovedforuseinyour
computer,thecomputerwillnotstart,butonlydisplaysanerrormessageand
emitsaudiblebeeps.

III.RFsafetycompliance

TheradiatedenergyfromtheantennaconnectedtothewirelessWANadapter
conformstotheFCClimitoftheSAR(SpecicAbsorptionRate)requirement
regarding47CFRPart2section1093,whenthecomputerwastestedinthe
conventionalorientation.

IV.EmergencyCalls

ThewirelessWANadapterembeddedinthecomputerdoesnotsupportvoice
calls,hencetheiruseforessentialcommunicationisnotpossible,including
emergencycallsregardingtheE911rule.

V.SimultaneoususeofRFtransmitters

ThewirelessWANadapterisapprovedforsimultaneoususewithcertain
wirelesstransmitters.Foralistofthosetransmitters,refertothelatest
ThinkPadRegulatoryNotice,whichhasbeenuploadedontheWebsiteat:

MakesureofthefollowingconditionswhenyouuseanyotherexternalRFoption
device:

1.WhenyouuseanyotherRFoptiondevice,youarerequestedtoconrm
thatthedeviceconformstotheRFSafetyrequirementandisapprovedto
useforyourcomputer.

2.Y oumustfollowtheRFSafetyinstructionsoftheRFoptiondevicethatare
includedintheusermanualoftheRFoptiondevice.

3.IftheRFoptiondeviceisprohibitedtouseinconjunctionwithanother
transmitters,youmustturnoffallotherwirelessfeaturesinyourcomputer.
