SITRANS LR260/LR250 hybrid use on liquid applications

Equipment:
SITRANS LR260 features higher gain microwave electronics, typically 15 dB higher than the
LR250. Configurations of SITRANS LR260 electronics and LR250 with 2” threaded process
connections are available as standard catalog items and others are available by special
request. Contact your Siemens representative.

Applications
Appropriate applications for the LR260/250 hybrid are:
1. Longer range applications from 20 m (66 ft) to 30 m (98 ft).
2. Applications with low dielectric AND small process connections.
3. Challenging applications where turbulence or minor foam is present.
Configurations
2 inch threaded connection versions are released and available as standard options on the SITRANS LR260 catalog sheet. Any
other SITRANS LR250 process connection option is available by special request. Contact your Siemens representative.

A signal to noise ratio improvement of 18 dB is shown above. This gain improvement will be obtained on any target distance.
Specifications
All specifications and approvals will be per the SITRANS LR260 except process related specifications such as pressure and
process temperature as these will be derived from the LR250 process connection specification.
LR260 Programming for optimization on liquids
1. Use the Quick start wizard to setup the application then make the following additional changes:
a. Par 2.2.4.1 Algorithm: set to tF.
b. Par 2.2.4.1.2 Echo Position: set to COM.
i. COM (Center of Mass) detection method is recommended for flat surfaces (liquids) and
RE (Rising Edge) detection method is recommended for sloped surfaces (solids)
c. Par 2.2.4.3.7 Reform: set to 0. It is recommended that this filter only be used in solids applications.
