Always wear the Receiver Unit with the Dome Make sure that the Domeis completely attached to the Receiver Unit If the Dome remains in your ear,have itremoved bya medical professional Replace the Dome ifit breaks Insert the Receiver Unitwith the Dome carefully and nottoo deeply into the ear Use the Receiver Unit and Dome only in themanner described in this userguide

IN CASE OF INSTRUMENT FAILURE
Is the instrument switchedon? Is the battery inserted? Is the battery rundown? Isthe battery compartmentclosed? Is the sound openingin the receiver clogged with wax?

Pressopen the battery compartment to the first stop to switch off.

Close the battery compartment fully to switch on.
Selecting the hearing program
The IMPACTR canbe programmed with up to 5 hearing programs which are selectedwith aprogram button. Each time the button is pressedthe instrumentchanges tothe next program,which isconfirmed with beep tones. The number of beep tones is the same as the selected program.

Domes and receiver moulds
Yourhearing instrumentmay be programmed to inform you when the battery should be replacedfor best system performance. You may hear an intermittent series of beeps and/or experience low amplification power or volume. Change the battery when either of these occur.
Power-ondelay
Yourhearing instrumentmay be equipped with a “power-on delay” feature.
Thisfeature delayssound from entering yourhearing instrumentwhen itis first turnedon, sothat you may insert the hearinginstrument into your ear withoutexperiencing unpleasant feedback(whistling).

YourIMPACT R canalso beprogrammed byyour NHS Audiologistto be turned onand offusing theprogram button.
Remove cerumen with a softtissue. No other tools are required Toremovedried cerumen,moistenthe softtissuewith a cerumensolvent Dabthe cerumenwith themoistened tissueandwait a short periodof time, thiswill loosenthe cerumen
Removing your hearingins trument
Turnyour hearinginstrument off Hold the Receiver Unit/Receiver Mould between your thumb and index finger and carefully pull it out. Youmay findit helpfulto lightly push your ear from the back

Attach the Dome properly. If the Dome remains in theear, have it removed by your NHS Audiologist.

Cleaning
Cerumen (ear wax) onthe Domes, Grid-Domes and Receiver Moulds can affect sound quality.
Clean Domes, Grid-Domes and Receiver Moulds right aftertaking the hearing instrument off.This way cerumen can not dryand harden.
Grid-Domes are very flexible. Takethe Grid-Domeoff the Receiver Unit and squeeze the Grid-Dome to remove cerumen from the grid.
NOTICE
Domes, Grid-Domes and Receiver Moulds are easily damaged when handled wrongly.
Never use brushes or sharpobjects for cleaning Never use running water or immerse the hearing instrument Never use pressure or rotating action while cleaning Do not spray cerumen solvent directly onto the C-Grid Do not pull the receiver out ofthe Receiver Mould
