RB BUNK KIT ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
FOR THE SS1165
The bunk attaches to the equal load arm as follows:
Locate the bunk support tube (Item No. 7). Set the bunk support tube upright as shown in the Diagram. Position a bunk support pivot on each end of the bunk support tube while aligning the holes of the two parts.
The bunk assemblies are shipped with the 1/2” x 3-1/2” x 1-1/2” U-bolts (Item No. 1) assembled inside the galvanized bunk bracket (Item No. 9). Position the legs of the U-bolts in the bunk assembly downward and align with the holes in the bunk support pivots and bunk support tube. Drop the bunk assembly into position. Place a spacer bushing on one of the U-bolts legs. Secure by using a 1/2” at washer and ange lock nut. Repeat this process on the other leg of the U-bolt and then the other U-bolt. Tighten the nuts on the U-bolts until secure but do not over tighten. The bunk assembly must be allowed to rotate in the bunk support pivot so it can conform to the boat bottom for full support on the boat.
Place the completed assembly on the rear pivot of the trailer as shown in the Diagram. Locate two of the 1/2” x 3-9/16” x 3-7/8” U-bolts. Place the legs of the U-bolt up along the front and rear of the rear pivot arm. Insert into the holes provided in the RB support tube mounting plate. Secure with 1/2” ange lock nuts.
ADJUSTMENT
Position the RB bunk assemblies so they are far enough apart to give your boat stability while transporting. When the desired width is achieved, move the RB bunk assemblies so that they are just to the outside of a strake. The RB bunk assemblies need to be adjusted so that you have a minimum of one to two inches of clearance between the keel of the boat and the center cross member pads. This will help center the boat when loading and unloading. The clearance can be obtained by moving the RB bunk assemblies closer together raising the boat. Rare occasions may require the use of risers on top of the rear pivot.
When the desired position is determined, tighten only enough to hold the bunks from moving while the other adjustments are being made. Once all nal adjustments are made, tighten to secure in its set location.
Assembly and adjustments are complete.
Repeat the above process on the other RB bunk assembly.
