The Model D4083 Speed Controller (see Figure 1) allows
your single speed router to operate at variable speeds on
a standard 110V 20A circuit. It is easy to install and simple
to use. It is ideal for router tables and trim work, allowing
you to fine-tune the router speed for the operation.
Always make sure the router and the speed control
are turned OFF before setup. Failure to do so could
lead to inadvertent startup, which could lead to
serious injury or property damage.
OPERATION
To use the router at full speed, plug the router into the
control and set the toggle switch to "FULL". The toggle
switch (see Figure 2) turns the router to full speed,
variable speed, or OFF. Use the router as directed in the
owner's manual. Once the operation is complete, return
the toggle switch to the "OFF" position.
To use variable speed, do these steps:
1. Secure the controller to the router table.
2. Make sure the controller toggle switch is turned OFF
(the center position).
3. Plug the router into the 5-15 receptacle on the
bottom right of the controller.
4. Connect the power cord of the controller to power.
5. Select "VAR" on the controller toggle switch.
6. Adust the speed knob to the appropriate setting for
the operation.
8. After completing the operation, return the speed
knob to "0" and set the toggle switch to "OFF".
