TO ENSURE SAFETY
WARNING
•
When installing components, be sure to follow the instructions that are given in the instruction manuals.
It is recommended to use genuine Shimano parts only. If parts such as bolts and nuts become loose or damaged, the bicycle may
suddenly fall over, which may cause serious injury.
In addition, if adjustments are not carried out correctly, problems may occur, and the bicycle may suddenly fall over, which may
cause serious injury.
•
Be sure to wear safety glasses or goggles to protect your eyes while performing maintenance tasks such as replacing parts.
•
After reading the dealer's manual thoroughly, keep it in a safe place for later reference.
CAUTION
•
A hub dynamo will provide higher power generation capacity. When riding or rotating the wheels, never touch the connection
terminals of the hub dynamo. If this is not observed, you could receive an electric shock.
Be sure to also inform users of the following:
•
Check that the front light is on during night riding.
NOTE
Be sure to also inform users of the following:
•
Connect and use a hub dynamo that is compatible with the light.
•
Check that the hub dynamo connection terminal is securely connected before using the hub dynamo.
•
Lighting may flicker at speeds between 4 and 10 km/h.
•
The front light is always turned on when riding.
•
The light bulb for the LED-equipped front and tail light cannot be replaced; replace the device.
•
This product supports only a 6V, 0.9W hub dynamo. Use a 0.9W Shimano hub dynamo.
•
Make sure that the front light does not dazzle oncoming persons.
•
The sensor-equipped LED light automatically lights up depending on the ambient light intensity detected by the illumination
sensor receiver.
If it lights up earlier than it should, clean the illumination sensor receiver.
•
The illumination sensor of the LED light works at a speed of approximately 4 km/h or higher, it does not light up at lower
speeds, such as shortly after the bicycle starts to travel.
For Installation to the Bicycle, and Maintenance:

Also read the manual for the hub dynamo.
•
Products are not guaranteed against natural wear and deterioration from normal use and aging.
•
For maximum performance we highly recommend Shimano lubricants and maintenance products.
The actual product may differ from the illustration because this manual is intended mainly to explain the procedures for
using the product.

INSTALLATION
Tightening torque:
5 - 6 N·m {44 - 52 in. lbs.}

These lights adhere to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) when used within the system.

Install the LED light to the dynamo mount stay for the front fork as shown in the illustration below.

Under basket mount type
Screw tightening torque:
3 - 4 N·m {27 - 34 in. lbs.}
Tightening torque:
6 - 7 N·m {53 - 61 in. lbs.}
Install the LED light in the order shown in the illustration below.
At that time, install the LED light so that the light does not shift between the basket stay and the front basket.

After installation, adjust the light so that the lines on
the installation section of the LED light are level.
Note:
The cable and tire may come into close proximity.
When installing, ensure that there is sufficient distance from the tire.

Connecting the hub dynamo
In the case of a basket stay is supplied
Wind the LED light cable around the basket stay, and attach the connector to the connecting terminal for the hub dynamo.

Wind the LED light cable around the front fork, and attach the connector to the connecting terminal for the hub dynamo.

Twist the cable wires before connecting them so that they stay together.

If you wish to replace the connector or change the length of
the cable, perform the following procedure.
•
Open the connector using a
slotted screwdriver or the like
as shown in the figure.
•
Insert the cable with the
marking into the ground side
of the connector.
•
Twist the cable wires, pass
them through the connector,
bend them, and run them
along the grooves.
