The SD-2175 is a minor change model of the SD-2275. This Service manual describes the items pertaining to the SD-2175 only. For the items common with the SD-2275, refer to the SD-2275 Service manual.

1. Copy slow down/stop specification

1) Slow down specification

After a certain time of continuous copying, the copy speed is slowed down to prevent against a drop in the fusing temperature.

After 120sec of continuous copying, the copy speed is reduced from 75cpm to about 67cpm.

2) Stop specification TYPE 1

When the alarm level of fusing temperature is detected during continuous copying, the operation is stopped. After restoring the temperature level, the operation is resumed automatically.

(After about 380 sheets of continuous printing, the operation is stopped for about 90sec, then the operation is resumed. (Under the standard condition)

3) Stop specification TYPE 2

After a certain time of continuous copying, the operation is stopped to restore the temperature, then the operation is resumed automatically.

After 300sec of continuous copying, the operation is stopped for about 90sec then the operation is resumed.

4) Specification setting

• To set the stop specification TYPE 1 and the slow down

specification, use SIM 43-E. (Refer to the description below.)

SIM 43-5 (Slow down setting/cancel)

Enter "5" as the sub code, the LCD screen indicates the following display. The currently set value is displayed on the copy quantity display.

When the RPL is turned on, select YES/NO of the copy speed slow down mode, press the print switch to store the setting.

When shipping, this is set to "1" (NO) (Stop specification TYPE 1).

• To set the stop specification TYPE 2, use SIM 43-5 to change to

the stop specification TYPE 1, then use SIM 62 to change to the stop specification TYPE 2.
