1. Measure to alleviate problems of image misalignment and tearing of the glass mylar in the RDH.
1.Model Name: SD-4085
2.General: The changes described below have been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems
of image misalignment in the RDH and problems of cracking of the RDH glass mylar.
3.Description: <1>A change in the shape of the No. 1 exposure roller has been carried out: (cuts have
been carried out on both ends; a change in the size of the diameter has been carried out: ø 36.2 has been changed to ø 36.) <2>A change in the shape of the No. 2 exposure roller has been carried out: (cuts have been carried out on both ends.) <3>The addition of an exposure pressure roller has been carried out: (the added exposure pressure roller is to be used in place of the cuts carried out on both ends described in <1> and <2> above.) <4>A change in the shape of the No. 1 register roller has been carried out: (a change in the size of the diameter has been carried out: ø 23.7 has been changed to ø 24.) <5>A change has been carried out in the driven roller of the No. 1 register: (the shaft revolving type has been changed to a bearing revolving type.) <6>The RDH glass mylar has been discontinued.
Actions <1>, <2>, <4>, and <5> have been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems of image misalignment. Actions <1>, <2>, <3>, and <6> have been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems of tearing of the glass mylar.
4.Action: From the start of 1997 April production.

2. Measure to alleviate problems of cracking of the coating of the upper heat roller.
1.Model Name: SD-4085
2.General: There were some problems reported from the markets of cracking of the coating on the
surface of the upper heat rollers. As a measure to alleviate this problem a change has been carried out in the maker. In accordance with this change a change has also been carried out in the part code.
3.Action: From the start of 1997 April production.
3. Measure to prevent problems of dislocation of the original document size rack in the RDH.
1.Model Name: SD-4085
2.General: The addition of a plastic block was used to apply pressure was carried out as a
temporary measure to prevent the original size rack (P/G [48]-14) in the RDH original document tray unit from becoming disengaged from the original document spring (P/G [18]-10) when it moved during operations. As a permanent measure to alleviate this problem, however, the addition of a hooked section to the plastic block of the original document tray base (P/G [48]-9) has been carried out.
3.Action: Running change from 1997 May production.
4. Change in the version of the main ROM and the RDH ROM, and change in the part codes.
1.Model Name: SD-4085
2.General: An upgrade of the ROM in the main PWB and in the RDH PWB had been carried out
without carrying out a change in the part codes, but in order to establish a means for distinguishing between the machines in stock in the markets and the machines with the new ROM version upgrades, a change has been carried out in the part codes of the new ROM versions, and are hereby reported.

Content of the changes carried out in the main ROM.
As a measure to improve problems of late reversion during copy paper reversion operations while the machine is running in SD/DD mode, the OFF setting of the reversion solenoid (DRS) when DPPD1 was set to ON has been discontinued. The DRS was previously set to be turned OFF 110 ms after the DPPD2 was set to ON, but this has been changed and now the DRS is set to be turned off 60 ms after the DPPD2 is set to ON.
A change has been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems of copy image misalignment on the front side of the last page of copy paper. This problem occurred during late one-cycle detection of the RDH during back cover copy operations carried out in DD mode. (measure 40/40).
A change has been carried out so that the number of lift-ups of the paper feeding tray when the OPVD does not turn ON during RDH paper feeding operations. The maximum number of lift-ups has been changed from 5 times to 10 times. In accordance with this change, a change has also been carried out in the maximum waiting time of the machine when the RDH paper feeding operations are late. The maximum waiting time of the machine has been changed from 3 sec to 5 sec.
In order to increase the margin preventing 3-hole paper reverse jams, we have changed the reverse section’s paper feed detection sensor (DPPD2) so that even if 3-hole paper hooks on it, the sensor will not detect the DPPD2’s OFF within 100mm after the DPPD2 turns ON.

Content of the changes carried out in the RDH ROM.
The paper feeding retry step count has been changed from 20 to 5. This change has been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems of w-feeding in the RDH.
A change has been carried out so that the number of lift-ups of the paper feeding tray when the OPVD does not turn ON during RDH paper feeding operations. The maximum number of lift-ups has been changed from 5 times to 10 times. This change has been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems of copy paper jams in the RDH.
A change has been carried out in the OFF timing of the exposure clutch (OEXC). This change has been carried out as a measure to alleviate problems of image misalignment. The timing has been changed from the instant the OPD5 is set to OFF to a new timing of 80 ms after the OPD5 is set to OFF. A change has been carried out in the lift halt position when the machine is set to ’READY.’ This change has been carried out as a measure to improve operationability during original document feeding operations. A change in the lower limit sensor (OPDD) has been carried out so that 360 STEP will be the new position from when it is set to ON instead of 330 STEP as it was previously.
