Ease of Use

The AR-M236 and AR-M276 have been
designed with the user in mind. Accessing
the many features on the LCD touch panel
display could not be simpler. All the main
functions are easily identifiable through the
icon based front screen, with more
sophisticated features being accessed
through logical sub menus. Even for users
who are new to the AR-M236/AR-M276,
the intuitive touch panel enables them to
understand the features available at a
glance.

The Sharp AR-M236 and AR-M276 are
the total solution to your busy office
document needs. The efficient flow of
printed information remains a critical
business requirement.

The AR-M236 and AR-M276 have been
designed with the specific requirements
of the workgroup department in mind to
ensure that the input, throughput and
output of hard copy and electronic
documents is made as easy as possible.
Offering 23 or 27 prints per minute and
a fast first copy out time of only 4.8
seconds these two devices will easily
cope with fast document production.
Laser technology, true 1200dpi resolution
and the latest digital features ensure
that whether for internal or external
distribution, your copies and prints
will be professional to the end.

A standard printer board means that
the AR-M236 and AR-M276 offer
multifunctionality from the start - a
sophisticated copier and printer in one.

In addition to the standard functions,
a range of options can also be added to
ensure that you have the correct features
to meet your needs whether it is
scanning, additional paper supply or
on-line finishing plus the capability of
creating a highly efficient network printer
for multiple users.

High Speed Scanning

With the optional 100 sheet Reversing Single
Pass Feeder (AR-RP7) fitted, the AR-M236/
AR-M276 allow you to feed multiple pages for
copying or scanning documents for electronic
distribution. With a network scan speed of
40opm the scanning option also supports
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).

Job Build

Allows you to scan large-volume documents
and print the combined file as one complete
set.

Pamphlet Copy

With standard in-built memory the
AR-M236/AR-M276 allows you to copy
single sheet originals and produce A5
or A4 paginated pamplets with *saddle
stitching and folding.

Cover Insertion

Create professional looking
documents by automatically
selecting covers from an
alternative paper tray.

Digital Automatic Exposure

Standard 2x500 sheet paper cassettes and
100 sheet by-pass capable of handling
200gsm paper stock. Additional paper
cassettes can be added to give a total
paper supply of 2100 sheets.

The standard duplex unit saves you both
time and money, allowing you to
produce double sided copies and prints
automatically.

Sophisticated Finishing

Exceptional Output Quality

The AR-M236/AR-M276 are capable of
producing the highest quality copies and
prints thanks to their 1200 x 1200dpi
copy/print resolution in super photo mode,
meaning that your documents, whether for
internal or external distribution will be crisp
and clear every time.

Flexible Operation

With 32Mb RAM as standard, expandable
to 1,056Mb, this in-built RAM offers a

number of digital benefits including SOPM
(scan-once-print-many) which enables you
to scan a multi-page document once and you
can return to your workstation whilst the
machine prints out the number of sets
required. This saves time and wear and tear
on originals. In addition standard electronic
sorting enables you to create multiple sorted
sets of documents and an in-built offset
shifter ensures that sets of documents are
separated for easy distribution.

Increased Efficiency

Provided as standard, a limitless duplex pass
enables fast production of double sided prints
from either single sided or double sided
originals. An optional RSPF (Reversing
Single Pass Feeder) will feed and scan up to
100 single sided or double sided originals
automatically, which is useful for either
copying large sets of documents or scanning
multiple pages for electronic distribution. With
Job Build you can copy a document with over
100 sheets by storing batches of originals in
the memory and printing the combined file as
one complete set.

The in-built memory also enables features
such as Pamphlet Copy to be accessed,
allowing you to copy single sheet originals
and produce A5 or A4 paginated booklets.

Cover Insertion allows you to automatically
select covers from an alternative paper tray
to create professionally completed
documents.

Configure to Your Requirements

The AR-M236/AR-M276 come as standard
with 2x500 sheet cassettes and a 100 sheet
by-pass (capable of feeding up to 200gsm
stock) offering you three paper sources and
enabling you to feed paper from A3 to A6R
size. It is possible to add a further two paper
cassettes giving you five paper sources in
total from which to copy/print up to 2100
sheets. The advantage of having a modular
machine is that you can upgrade your device
as and when your requirements change or
when your copy/print volumes increase.

In addition to a flexible paper supply
the AR-M236/AR-M276 also offers
productivity enhancing optional Staple

Finisher (AR-FN5N) and *Saddle Stitch
Finisher (AR-F14).

PRINTING ON DEMAND

Truly Multifunctional

The AR-M236/AR-M276’s standard printer
capability enables you to use your device as a
high speed, high quality laser printer from the
start. Utilising the unique SPLC (Sharp
Printer Language with Compression), fast
and efficient printing is available “out of the
box” for single user or peer to peer networks.
This printing function utilises either the
in-built USB 2.0 port or IEEE 1284
bi-directional interface.

The carbon copy feature allows you to
create your own multi-part invoices and
purchase orders, so there’s no need to
outsource printing or to use devices like dot
matrix printers. The AR-M236/AR-M276 will
conveniently print in a collated order on
selected colour paper.

The AR-M236/AR-M276 gives you powerful
printing functions such as web and e-mail
printing which allows you to select and
send PDF/TIFF files directly to your printer
without having to open the application
and printer driver first.

It is even possible to integrate an optional
Postscipt 3 driver should this be required,
in Macintosh environments for example.

Sophisticated Print

Where LAN environments exist, an optional
PCL6 Printer Board (AR-P17) with integral
NIC (Network Interface Card) can be added

to create a highly efficient network printer for
multiple users.

The confidential print feature allows
you to send and store a print job with an
assigned PIN code. Only when you walk up to
the machine and enter the corresponding PIN
code will your job be printed.

The proof print function also allows
you to send a multiple print job to the
AR-M236/AR-M276 where only one set will
be printed allowing you to check that the
settings you selected via the print driver give
the desired finished document before you
print the remaining sets. This feature saves
time and paper wastage.

DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT

Input, Throughput, Output

The AR-M236/AR-M276 can be used as an
input device to convert hard copy documents
into electronic format thanks to their 40opm

high speed scanning facility and 100 sheet
document feeder.

With the optional scanning kit, you
can send electronic data scanned via the
AR-M236/AR-M276 to pre-set e-mail
addresses, ad-hoc e-mail addresses, FTP sites
and/or to a desktop PC at the touch of a key.

Sharp’s own document software,
Sharpdesk™, comes bundled with the
optional scanner kit and enables electronic
documents to be sent directly to your desktop
PC. From here you are able to browse, sort,
search and file. It also allows you to easily
create and distribute complete reports,
proposals, and more utilising a simple drag
and drop operation.

The scanning option also supports LDAP

(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)

which means that if your e-mail server is SNMP
compliant, e-mail addresses will automatically
be updated on the LCD touch screen of the
AR-M236/AR-M276 as and when your central
e-mail server is updated. This feature saves a
substantial amount of time not having to
re-programme the machine and ensures the
e-mail address book on the AR-M236/
AR-M276 is always up to date.

Job Status and Monitoring

As such it is imperative that the workgroup
using the AR-M236/AR-M276 should be able
to assess the status of the device at any given
time. Sharp Printer Administration Utility
and Status Monitor software do just this.
Whether you are a network administrator or a
user, these software utilities enable you to
interrogate the device across the network and
assess the status of the device before you
send a print job. Status Monitor lets you know
whether the machine is on-line or off-line and
even how much paper is remaining in the
cassettes.

E-mail Status and Alert

Sharp’s unique e-mail alert utility further
improves the level of feedback you are
able to get from the AR-M236/AR-M276
and can actually pre-empt minor problems.
An e-mail will automatically be sent to a
key operator advising that the toner may
be low allowing them to replace this item
in advance, or that a service may be required
in the near future.
