INSTALLATION MANUAL

CAUTION:

• Potential hazard of glass particles if lamp ruptures. Please have a Sharp Authorized Projector Dealer or
Service Center* replace lamp if rupture occurs.

• Do not remove the lamp unit directly after operation of the projector. The lamp may be extremely hot. Wait
at least one hour after the power cord is disconnected to allow the surface of the lamp unit to fully cool
before removing the lamp unit.

It is recommended that the lamp be replaced when the remaining lamp life becomes 5% or less, or when you notice a signifi ­cant deterioration in the picture and color quality. The lamp life (percentage) can be checked with the on-screen display.

The lamp included with this projector is backed by a 90-day parts and labor limited warranty. All service of
this projector under warranty, including lamp replacement, must be obtained through a Sharp Authorized
Projector Dealer or Service Center*. For the name of the nearest Sharp Authorized Projector Dealer or

Removing and Installing the
Lamp Unit

Warning!

Do not remove the lamp unit f rom the projector right
after use. The lamp a nd parts around the l amp will
be very hot and may ca use burns or injur y.

Do not touch the glass sur face of the lamp uni t or
the inside of the projector.
To avoid injury to yourself and d amage to the lamp,
make sure you carefull y follow the steps below.
Do not loosen other sc rews except for the lamp unit
cover and lamp uni t.

Press STANDBY/ON on the projector

or STANDBY on the remote control to
put the projector into standby mode.

Disconnect the power cord.

Unplug the power cord fro m the AC socket.
Leave the lamp until it has f ully cooled down
(about 1 hour).

Remove the lamp unit cover.

Close the lens shut ter. Loosen the user servic e
screw (1) that secures the lamp unit cove r.
Remove the lamp unit c over (2).

Remove the lamp unit.

Loosen the securin g screws from the lamp unit.
Hold the lamp unit an d pull it in the directio n of the
arrow. At this time, keep the lamp unit hor izontal
and do not tilt it.

Insert the new lamp unit.

Press the lamp unit fi rmly into the lamp uni t
compartment. Fasten th e securing screws.

Replace the lamp unit cover.

Align the tab on the la mp unit cover (1) and place
it while pressin g the cover (2) to close it. Then
tighten the user ser vice screw (3) to secure the
lamp unit cover.

If the lamp unit and lam p unit cover are not
correctly insta lled, the power will not turn o n,
even if the power cord is con nected to the
projector.

Resetting the Lamp Timer

Reset the lamp timer after replacing the lamp.

Info

Make sure to reset the lamp timer o nly when
replacing the lamp. If you re set the lamp timer and
continue to use the same la mp, this may cause the
lamp to become dam aged or explode.

Connect the power cord and open the

lens shutter fully.

Plug the power cord into the AC socket of the
projector.

Reset the lamp timer.

While simultan eously holdin g down
MENU/HELP, ENTER and R on the projector,
press STANDBY/ON on the projector.
“LAMP 0000H” is displayed, indicating that the
lamp timer is reset.
