GENERAL WARNINGS
1. Robotic vacuum cleaner consists of a
robotic vacuu m and charging dock with
power supply. These components contai n
electric al connec tions, electrica l wiring,
and moving pa rts that potentially present
risk to the user.
2. Before each u se, carefully inspect all
parts for any damage. If a part is damaged,
discontinue use.
3. Use only identic al replace ment par ts.
4. This robotic vacuum cleaner conta ins no
serviceable parts.
5. Use only as described in this manual.
DO NOT use the robotic vacuum cl eaner
for any purpose other than those
described in this manual.
6. With the exception of filters, DO NOT
expose any par ts of the robotic vacuum
cleaner to water or other liqu ids.

7. This appliance can be used by childre n
aged from 8 yea rs and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience an d
knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.

8. Always turn o the robotic vacuum
cleaner before inser ting or removing the
filter or dust b in.

user maintenance shall not be made by
children with out super vision.
10. DO NOT use without dust bi n and filters
in place.
11. Only use Shark® bra nded filter s and
accessorie s. Failure to do so will void
the warranty.
12. D O NOT damage the charging cord:
a) DO NOT p ull or carr y chargin g
dock by the cord or u se the cord as
a handle.
b) DO NOT un plug by pullin g on cord.
Grasp the plug, not the cord.
c) DO NOT clos e a door on the co rd,
pull the cord aro und sharp corners,
or leave the cord near heated
surfaces.
13. D O NOT put any objects into nozzle or
accessory openings. DO NOT use with
any opening b locked; keep free of dust,
lint, hair, and any thing that may re duce
air flow.
14. DO NOT u se if robotic vacuum cleaner
airflow is restricted. I f the air paths
become blo cked, turn th e vacuum
cleaner o and remove all obstructions
before turning on the unit again.
15. Kee p nozzle and all vacuum openings
away from hair, face, fingers, uncovered
feet, or loose clothing.
16. DO NOT use if robotic vacuum clea ner
is not working as it should, or has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped into water.
17. D O NOT place vacuum clea ner on
unstable surfaces.

19. DO NOT use in the following areas:

c) Spaces that are enclosed and may
contain explosive or toxic fumes
or vapors (lighter fluid, gasoline ,
kerosene, paint, paint thinners,
mothproofing substan ces, or
flammable dust)
20. Turn o the robotic vacuum cleaner
before any adjustment, cl eaning,
maintenance or troubleshooting.
21. Allow all filters to air-dry completely
before repla cing in the robotic vacuum
cleaner to prevent liquid from being
drawn into elec tric part s.
22. DO N OT modify or attempt to repair the
robotic vacuu m cleaner o r the batter y
yourself, except as indicated in th is
manual. DO NOT use the vacu um if it has
been modified or damaged.
BAT TER Y U S E
23. The battery is the p ower source for
the vacuum . Carefully read and follow
all charging instructions.
24. To prevent unintentional starting, ensure
the vacuum is p owered o before picking
up or carr ying the vacu um. DO NOT
carry the appliance with your finger on
the power switch.
25. Use ON LY the Shark® charging docks
RVDOK850 or RVDOK85OWV and use
only batter y RVBAT850. Use of batteries
or battery chargers other than tho se
indicated m ay create a risk of fire.
26. Keep the batter y away from all metal
objects such as pape r clips, coins, keys,
nails, or screws. Shor ting the bat tery
terminals tog ether increases the risk of
fire or burns .
27. Under abusive conditions, liquids may be
ejected from the batter y. Avoid contact
with this liquid, as it may cause irritation
or burns. If contact o ccurs, flu sh with
water. If liquid conta cts eyes, se ek
medical help.
28. Robotic vacuum cleaner sh ould not be
stored, cha rged, or used at temperatures
below 50° F (10° C) or above 104°F
(40°C). Ensure the battery and vacuum
have reached roo m temperatu re before
charging or use. Exposing the robot
or battery to temperature s outside of
this range may damage the battery and
increase the risk of fire.
29. DO NOT expose the robotic vacuum
cleaner or battery to fire or temperatures
above 265°F ( 130°C) as it may cause
explosion.
30. Non-rechargeable batteries cannot
be recharged.
REMOTE
31. DO NOT mix old a nd new batteries.
32. DO NOT mix alkaline, standard (carbon-
zinc), or rechargeable (ni-cad , ni-mh,
etc.) batteries.

and other o bstacle s while it cle ans. Th e robot may ge ntly bump in to obstruc tions or li nger in on e spot, and
it may not cover ever y area in a sin gle clea ning. For b est result s, prep are your hom e as indic ated below,
and sche dule a dail y cleanin g to ensure all fl oor area s are regul arly maint ained .

Before cle aning, c lear away cord s and other
obstruc tions or bl ock o the ar ea with the inc luded
BotBoundary™ Strips.
Your robot may have som e trouble c learing s ome
high thres holds. B lock o hi gh thresho lds with
BotBoundary strips.
To prevent your robot f rom becom ing trapp ed,
use furni ture riser s or BotBo undar y strips.
If your robot r oams too fa r, it could have troub le
finding th e Charging Dock. It may be helpf ul to
block o pa rt of your ho me with BotB ounda ry
strips, o r to add a secon d dock (availab le at sharkaccessories.com)

PREPARING FOR USE
Place the ch arging do ck on a level su rface with i ts back ag ainst a wall , in a space wit hout obst ruction s, that
can easil y be accesse d by your robot . Remove any ob jects th at are close r than 3 feet ( 1 meter) from e ither
side of the do ck, or clo ser than 5 fe et (1. 52 meters) fro m the front of th e dock. Pl ug the Charging Adapter
into a wall outl et. The do ck must be p lugged in c ontinual ly for the rob ot to find it. Th e robot will b eep when
it start s chargin g on the doc k.
If the robot h as no charg e and can not return to th e
chargin g dock, pl ace it on the do ck manu ally.
When the cl eaning c ycle is compl ete, or if the b attery
is runnin g low, the robot wi ll search fo r the dock .
If your robot d oesn’t r eturn to the do ck, its ch arge
may have run out .
CHARGING DOCK SET-UP
INSTALLING THE SIDE BRUSHES CHARGING
Snap the 2 in cluded Side Brushes onto the sq uare
pegs on the b ottom of the ro bot.
CHARGING THE SHARK ION™ ROBOT
IM PORTA NT: The Sha rk ION Rob ot has a pre- install ed rechar geable b attery. Ba ttery mu st be fully c harged
before usi ng.
To charge, the Powe r button on th e side of the rob ot
must be in th e ON position (I).
NOTE: When m anually placin g the robot on the doc k, make sure the Charging Contacts on the bot tom of the robot are
aligne d with the dock by leavin g a gap of half an inch be tween the dock fa ce and the front of the r obot. To ensure the robo t
is docked c orrectly, refer to the Char ge Indicator Lights section.
