GENERAL ELECTRICAL SAFETY:
1. Unplug from electrical outlet when not in use and before servicing.
2. DO NOT use vacuum with a damaged cord or plug.
3. DO NOT pull or carry vacuum by the cord.
4. DO NOT unplug by pulling on cord; to unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
5. DO NOT handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
6. DO NOT run the vacuum over the power cord.
7. DO NOT close a door on the cord.
8. DO NOT pull cord around sharp corners.
9. DO NOT leave appliance unattended while plugged in.
10. Keep power cord away from heated surfaces.
11. Turn off all controls before plugging or unplugging vacuum cleaner.
HOSE ATTACHMENTS:
12. DO NOT use if air flow is restricted; if the air paths or the hose become blocked, turn the vacuum cleaner off. Remove all obstructions before you turn on the unit again.
13. Keep the end of the hose and other openings away from face and body.
14. Keep all suction openings away from hair, face, fingers, uncovered feet or loose clothing.
15. Only use manufacturer’s recommended attachments.

POLARIZED PLUG:
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not force into
the outlet or try to modify the plug to fit.

GENERAL USE:
16. Use only as described in this manual.
17. DO NOT put any objects into openings.
18. Keep your work area well lit.
19. Keep the vacuum moving over the carpet surface at all times to avoid damaging the carpet fibers.
20. DO NOT place vacuum on unstable surfaces such as chairs or tables.
21. DO NOT allow young children to operate the vacuum or use as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near children, pets or plants.
22. DO NOT use vacuum cleaner if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or submerged in water. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the vacuum. Return to EURO-PRO Operating LLC for examination, repair or adjustment. Incorrect re-assembly can cause a risk of electric shock or injury to persons when the vacuum is used.
23. Always hold the plug and DO NOT allow to
whip when rewinding.
DUST BAGS / FILTERS:
24. Before turning on the vacuum:
• Make sure that the filter and the dust bag,
are in place after routine maintenance.
• Make sure that all components and filters are
thoroughly dry after routine cleaning.
• Only use filters and accessories provided by
EURO-PRO Operating LLC [Failure to do so will void the warranty].
GENERAL CLEANING:
25. DO NOT run the vacuum over large-sized
objects.
26. DO NOT pick up hard or sharp objects such as
glass, nails, screws or coins that could damage the vacuum cleaner.
27. DO NOT pick up smoking or burning objects
such as hot coals, cigarette butts or matches.
28. DO NOT pick up flammable or combustible
materials such as lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene or use in areas where they may be present.
29. DO NOT pick up toxic solutions such as
chlorine bleach, ammonia or drain cleaner.
30. DO NOT use in an enclosed space where
vapors are present from paint, paint thinner, moth-proofing substances, flammable dust or other explosive or toxic materials.
31. DO NOT vacuum up any liquids.
32. DO NOT immerse vacuum cleaner in water or
other liquids.
33. DO NOT use outdoors or on wet surfaces; use
only on dry surfaces.
34. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
35. Store your appliance indoors in a cool, dry area.

Getting Started
YOUR SHARK® PROFESSIONAL CANISTER IS EASY TO ASSEMBLE
:
1 Place your vacuum canister on a level surface.
DO NOT plug in the vacuum until it is fully
assembled.
2 Insert the flexible hose (A) into the air intake duct.
Push it in until you hear it “click“, indicating that it is locked in place (Fig. 1).
3 Insert the telescoping extension tube (B) onto the
handle end of the flexible hose (Fig. 1).
4 Push the end of the extension tube into the air
turbine floor nozzle (C) or the floor brush (D) (Fig. 1).
5 The crevice and upholstery tools are stored on the
top of the vacuum behind the air intake duct (Fig. 2).

1 To extend the power cord, pull it from the rear
of the vacuum to the desired length (Fig. 3). A yellow mark on the power cord shows the ideal cable length.
CAUTION: DO NOT pull the power cord beyond the red mark on the power cord as this will damage the cord.
2 Plug the vacuum into an electrical wall outlet. 3 Press the On/Off Button to the “On” position to
begin. (Fig. 4)
4 Press the On/Off Button to the “Off” position
when finished using the vacuum.
Using the Vacuum
5 To retract the power cord, press the cord rewind
button. (Fig. 5) If the cord does not fully retract, pull it out a little and then press the rewind button again.
WARNING: Always hold the plug and DO NOT
allow to whip when rewinding.
6 To store the canister vacuum, insert the clip that is
on the back of the air turbine floor nozzle or floor brush into the slot on the back of the vacuum. (Fig. 6)

Manual Suction Control
7 The Shark® Professional Canister Vacuum includes
a quick manual suction control on the handle of the hose. The suction power can be adjusted by moving the slide regulator to the desired position. (Fig. 7) By opening the slide regulator, the suction will be reduced for vacuuming upholstery and draperies easily. With the slide regulator closed, you get maximum suction for vacuuming carpets.
Variable Suction Control 8 For bigger cleaning jobs across all surfaces, the
Shark
®
Professional Canister also features a variable suction control located on the canister. Slide the knob from side to side to change the level of suction. An indicator light displays the amount of suction while in use (Fig. 8).

Using the Floor Brush
9 The floor brush can be used to vacuum both
carpets and bare floors. To vacuum carpets, press the pedal down towards the front of the floor brush (Fig. 9). This will lift the bristles on the floor brush. If the suction is too strong, you can reduce it by adjusting the manual suction control on the handle of the hose. To vacuum bare floors, press the pedal down towards the back of the floor brush (Fig. 10).
