DESCRIPTION
The HCC4XXXB (extended temperature range) and HCF4XXXB (intermediate temperature range) are monolithic integrated circuits, available in 14lead dual in-line for 4024B and 16-lead dual in-line for 4020B, 4040B plasticor ceramic package and plasticmicropackage.

TheHCC/HCF4020B, 4024B,and4040B areripple- carry binary counters.Allcounter stagesare masterslaveflip-flops. The stateof a counter advances one count onthe negative transition of eachinputpulse ; a high levelon the RESET lineresets thecounter to itsallzeros stage. Schmitt trigger action onthe inputpulse line permits unlimited clock rise and fall times. Allinputs and outputs arebuffered.

Stresses above those listed under ”Absolute Maximum Ratings” may cause permanent damage to the device. This is a stress rating only and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions above those indicated in the operational sections of this specification is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for external periods may affect device reliability.
