Butterfl y stirring attachment
∙ This attachment serves to emulsify, beat egg-whites or cream, and to stir thin dough (eg for pancakes or waffl es). ∙ First, fi t and then lock the blade inside the mixing bowl, as described in section 1. Fitting the blade. ∙ The stirring attachment can now be simply fi tted on top of the blade.
∙ Proceed to fi t the mixing bowl to the appliance. Fit and lock the lid as described in section 4. Locking the mixing bowl. The stirring attachment must only be used at mixer settings 1 and 2, and cooker settings 37 °, 70 ° and 100 °C. Caution: Using the stirring attachment at cooker setting 120 °C or mixer settings 3 and 4 is likely to cause damage to the
appliance.
Steaming assembly
The steaming assembly consists of four components:
∙ Adaptor ∙ Steam tray ∙ Steaming grid
∙ Lid ∙ First, fi t and then lock the blade in the mixing bowl as described in section 1. Fitting the blade. ∙ Now fi t the mixing bowl with its lid in the appliance and lock it as described in section 4. Locking the mixing bowl. ∙ Then fi t the adaptor onto the mixing bowl, with its connecting piece facing down and the small aperture facing to the front.
Page 10
10
∙ Fit the steam tray and steaming grid. Lastly, fi t the lid.
General operation
First, select and assemble the required accessory parts. The individual cooking and mixing programmes can only be started once the appliance has been correctly assembled and locked.
Inserting the plug
As soon as the appliance is connected to the mains, the display lights up and the appliance is ready for use.
Cooling fan
The cooling fan protects the motor against over-heating. After each cycle of use, it continues to run for about three minutes.
Timer
∙ The desired operating time is selected using the + or – buttons. ∙ Always set the operating time fi rst, followed by the cooker or mixer setting. ∙ For all cooker settings, it is necessary to select the required operating time, which is then shown on the display. If the timer is set
after the cooking time itself, it will take a few seconds longer for the appliance to start.
∙ The mixing times are adjusted individually. If no particular operating time has been selected, the appliance will run for only one
minute, with the display showing the time as it elapses.
Setting the timer
∙ Pressing the + button once will select the 1-minute minimum operating time. With each additional push, the operating time
increases in 30-second steps. ∙ Pressing the – button decreases the selected time in 30-second steps. ∙ To select an operating time of less than one minute, press the + button once, and then use the – button to adjust the time to the
exact second. ∙ Pressing and holding the + or – buttons allows you to select the desired time in fast mode.
Selector switch
∙ This selector switch allows you to choose the individual mixing and cooking programmes. ∙ The individual cooking programmes can be selected with the switch turned anti-clockwise. ∙ Turning the switch clockwise allows you to select the individual mixing programmes without the cooking function.
Page 11
11
∙ Pushing in and holding the selector switch activates the turbo setting.
Cooker settings
37 °: The food is heated to 37 °C and stirred at 200 rpm.
This setting is suitable for warming chocolate, butter, pudding, crèmes and hot-stirred desserts. 70 °: The food is heated to 70 °C and stirred at 200 rpm. This setting is suitable for sauce hollandaise, béchamel sauces (with stirring attachment), puddings, crèmes and hot-stirred
desserts. 100 °: The food is heated to 100 °C and stirred at 200 rpm. This setting is suitable for soups, stews, sauces and hot-stirred desserts. 120 °: The food is heated at the maximum power setting, but without stirring. This is suitable for steam cooking and all cooking processes where stirring is not needed: eg boiling potatoes, briefl y boiling
up soups, sauces and desserts.
Tip: The 120 °C cooker setting can also be used to sauté onions, spices etc for soups and sauces. Mix these ingredients with oil before putting them into the bowl. As the blade is not rotating at this setting, the ingredients must be deglazed after about two minutes.
Mixer settings
1 400 rpm: for beating egg-whites, whipped cream and emulsifying mayonnaise. 2 1000 rpm: for beating egg-whites or whipped cream, for cold-stirred desserts, for cold-stirred desserts and for kneading thin
dough (with the stirring attachment) or yeast-dough type (without the attachment).
3 3000 rpm: for chopping fruit, vegetables, herbs or nuts, puréeing soups or sauces. 4 6000 rpm: for chopping fruit, vegetables, herbs or nuts, puréeing soups or sauces, and making icing.
Page 12
12
Tip: Each mixing cycle should be started at the lowest setting, and then increasing the speed at 10-second intervals, until the intended mixer setting is reached. This ensures thorough mixing of the ingredients and, at the same time, prevents ingredients from spilling.
Turbo setting
For short-term maximum mixer performance (7000 rpm), the turbo function can be activated at any time at all cooker or mixer settings by pushing in and holding the selector switch. This function is also available with the selector switch in the ‘Off’ position ( ).
Tip: The turbo setting is very useful for chopping herbs. Simply activate the turbo function in short bursts, checking regularly, until the herbs have reached the intended state. Please note that only dry herbs can be properly processed this way. We therefore recommend that the herbs are thoroughly dried after washing.
Steam cooking
Fill the mixing bowl with one litre of water and put the steaming assembly together as described in the section ‘Steaming
assembly’.
∙ Put in the food to be steamed and fi t the lid. ∙ Use the timer to select the required steaming time and turn the selector switch anti-clockwise to the 120 ° setting.
Tip: While the steaming grid is best suited for gently cooking fi sh or meat, you can steam vegetables at the same time in the steam tray. However, to cook the food in the grid insert properly, a suffi cient amount of steam is required. Therefore ensure, that not all the openings in the steam try are blocked by food. Additional side-dishes (such as potatoes or noodles) may be steamed at the same time in the mixing bowl, with water added up to the max marking.
Acoustic signals, eg programme end etc.
∙ To mark the end of a cooking or mixing cycle, or an improperly locked appliance or other errors, the unit will give acoustic signals. ∙ Once a cooking or mixing cycle has fi nished, always turn the selector switch to the ‘Off’ position ( ) fi rst before selecting a new
programme or operating time.
Power interruption
In the case of a power interruption while a programme is running, the display shows the error code EE03 and acoustic warning signals are heard. Should this occur, fi rst switch the appliance off and turn the selector switch to the ‘Off’ position ( ). Then switch on again and re-start the cooking or mixing programme.
