Important safety instructions
These instructions contain important safety information.
y Please read these instructions carefully and completely
before using the portable transmitter.
y Heed all warnings.
y Follow all instructions.
y Make these instructions easily accessible to all users at
all times. Always include these instructions when passing the portable transmitter on to third parties.
y Never open the portable transmitter. If units are opened
by customers in breach of this instruction, the warranty
becomes null and void.
y Keep the portable transmitter away from any heat
sources and never expose it to direct sunlight!
y Keep liquids and small parts which conduct electricity
away from the portable transmitter.
y Only charge the rechargeable batteries at ambient tem-
peratures between 10 °C and 40 °C. Only use the
GP L 3202 charger to charge the batteries. Immediately
stop the charging process of an obviously defective portable transmitter/rechargeable battery.
y After use, insert the portable transmitter into a charger
or turn it off. When the portable transmitter is not used
for an extended period, recharge the batteries about
every three months.
y Only use a clean dry cloth to clean the portable transmit-
ter.

y Only use attachments/accessories specified by Sennhe-
iser.
y Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servic-
ing is required if the portable transmitter has been damaged in any way, such as liquid has been spilled, objects
have fallen inside, the portable transmitter has been
exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate properly or
has been dropped.
y Dispose of units with exhausted rechargeable batteries
which cannot be recharged as special waste or return
them to your specialist dealer.
Intended use of the portable transmitter
“Intended use” means that the portable transmitter should
be used within the operating conditions and limitations described in this instruction manual.
“Improper use” means modifiying the portable transmitter,
using the portable transmitter other than as described in
these instructions, or under operating conditions which differ from those described herein.

y L 3202 chargers for configuration and for charging the
rechargeable batteries in the portable transmitter and
receivers
y “Visitor Profiler” software module (included with the
SYS software package) for configuring the
portable transmitter and receivers

The SK 3202 portable transmitter
The SK 3202 is a portable stereo transmitter, allowing you
to offer personal guided tours using your system.
The SK 3202 ensures excellent speech intelligibility even
over longer distances. There will be no crowding around the
guide; other visitors will not be disturbed by the guided
tour (and vice versa). The visitors to the tour can enjoy
complete freedom of movement.
A few mouse clicks are all that is required to configure the
portable transmitter and any number of receivers for a
guided tour. The portable transmitter is easy to use.
During a guided tour, the portable transmitter does not interfere with the reception of Storage and Live Events. Using
the portable transmitter, the receivers participating in the
guided tour can be seamlessly switched between the guided tour and any Events.
Suitable receivers
The SK 3202 portable transmitter only works with the Sennheiser EK 3202 receivers.

Suitable microphones
You can connect one of the following Sennheiser microphones (not included) to the portable transmitter:

Putting the SK 3202 into operation
Connecting the microphone
왘
Connect the plug from the microphone cable to the MIC socket
.
왘 Lock the plug by screwing down the
coupling ring.
Connecting a line source
You can connect an external audio source such as a CD player (or other audio device) to the portable transmitter. For
this, you require a cable with a 3.5 mm stereo jack plug.
왘 Connect the line output of the audio
device to the LINE socket .
Connecting the antenna
왘 Connect the supplied antenna to
the ANT antenna socket .
왘 Lock the antenna by screwing down
the coupling ring.
Charging the rechargeable battery
왘 Insert the portable transmitter into any charging com-
partment of the L 3202 charger.
All LEDs go off. The portable transmitter turns off automatically. The charge status of the rechargeable battery
is indicated by the LEDs on the charger and in the
“Receiver Display” area of the “Charger Manager” mod-

Note:
Charging takes approx. 4 hours. With a fully charged
rechargeable battery, the portable transmitter’s operating time is approx. 8 hours.
Adjusting the sensitivity of the microphone input
왘 Make sure that the microphone is connected and then
speak in a normal voice.
왘 Keep the MIC key pressed and
simultaneously press the LEVEL+
key or the LEVEL– key several times so that the MIC LED
always lights up yellow. The MIC
LED should only briefly light
up red during the loudest passages.
Adjusting the sensitivity of the line input
왘 Connect the external audio source, turn it on and start
playback.
왘 Keep the LINE key pressed and
simultaneously press the LEVEL+
key or the LEVEL– key several times so that the LINE LED always lights up yellow. The LINE
LED should only briefly light up
red during the loudest passages.

Attaching the portable transmitter to clothing
The portable transmitter is best attached to clothing (e.g. belt, waistband, pocket) with the belt clip .
In addition, you can attach a neck
strap to the belt clip and wear
the portable transmitter around
your neck.
ATTENTION! Danger of short-circuit!
If you put the portable transmitter into a
pocket with small parts which conduct
electricity such as coins, etc., these can
short out the 4-pin connector strip .

Care and maintenance
ATTENTION! Water can damage the electronics of the
portable transmitter!
Water or other liquid entering the housing
of the portable transmitter can cause a
short-circuit and damage the electronics.

cleansing agents or solvents.

Warranty regulations
The guarantee period for this Sennheiser product is 24 months from the
date of purchase. Excluded are accessory items, rechargeable or disposable
batteries that are delivered with the product; due to their characteristics
these products have a shorter service life that is principally dependent on
the individual frequency of use.
The guarantee period starts from the date of original purchase. For this
reason, we recommend that the sales receipt be retained as proof of purchase. Without this proof (which is checked by the responsible Sennheiser
service partner) you will not be reimbursed for any repairs that are carried
out.
Depending on our choice, guarantee service comprises, free of charge, the
removal of material and manufacturing defects through repair or replacement of either individual parts or the entire device. Inappropriate usage
(e.g. operating faults, mechanical damages, incorrect operating voltage),
wear and tear, force majeure and defects which were known at the time of
purchase are excluded from guarantee claims. The guarantee is void if the
product is manipulated by non-authorised persons or repair stations.
In the case of a claim under the terms of this guarantee, send the device,
including accessories and sales receipt, to the responsible service partner.
To minimise the risk of transport damage, we recommend that the original
packaging is used.
Your legal rights against the seller, resulting from the contract of sale, are
not affected by this guarantee. The guarantee can be claimed in all countries outside the U.S. provided that no national law limits our terms of
guarantee.

Batteries or rechargeable batteries
The supplied batteries or rechargeable batteries can be recycled.
Please dispose of them as special waste or return them to your
specialist dealer.
In order to protect the environment, only dispose of exhausted
batteries.

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and with RSS-210 of
Industry Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1)
