Brief Description

The X1 S is a high-quality condenser microphone intended for a wide range of studio applications,
from vocals to drums to acoustic instruments and beyond. Thanks to its custom design and hand­crafted 1” true condenser capsule, it delivers pristine sound quality and an even, well-balanced
frequency response.

The electronics and the switchable attenuation pads ensure a high dynamic range, with high
sound pressure level (SPL) handling capability and extremely low-noise components. The
switchable low cut filters eliminate rumble or footfall noise, and can also compensate for an
excess of bass frequencies caused by the proximity effect. This enables the X1 S to close-mic
many instruments including electric guitar speaker cabinets, brass instruments and drums.

Reliable operation even in demanding on-stage applications in difficult environments is ensured by
the roadworthy all-metal design, robust construction, and high quality manufacturing standards.

Controls

The X1 S features a switch for the attenuation pads and a switch for the low-cut filters.

Attenuation Switch

The Attenuation Switch is located on the front-left side of
the microphone. When switched on, the incoming signal is
reduced by either 10 or 20 dB for capturing of loud
instruments and/or close-miking without distortion. Using
the switch also helps prevent overloading the input stage of
recording interfaces, mixing desks and microphone
preamps.

Low-Cut Switch

The Low-Cut Switch is located on the front-right side of the
microphone, and inserts a low-cut filter at 80Hz (left
position) or 160Hz (right position). The switch’s center
position removes the filter for a flat frequency response.
Wind noise, plosives, footfall noise or rumble might affect
the recorded signal, so enabling the low-cut filters reduces
such unwanted noise and prevents distortion. Additionally,
the low-cut filters also minimize the proximity effect when
recording sound sources at a very short distance.

Powering

To ensure proper operation, the microphone requires a phantom power source providing 48 Volts

according to IEC 61938.

Risk of damage

Do not connect the microphone to any power supply other than a
phantom power source (input with phantom power or external IEC
standard phantom power supply) with a floating connector, using a
balanced cable with studio grade connectors to IEC 268-12 only. This
is the only way to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Safety and maintenance

Risk of damage

Please make sure that the piece of equipment to which your
microphone will be connected fulfils the safety regulations enforced in
your country and is fitted with a ground lead.

Cleaning the microphone

After every use, clean the microphone with a dry, soft cloth tissue and store it in a solid case or a
zipper pouch.

Kurzbeschreibung

Das X1 S ist ein qualitativ hochwertiges Kondensatormikrofon, dass sich für eine Vielzahl an
Studioanwendungen eignet – von Gesang über akustische Instrumente bis hin zu Schlagzeug.

Dank der handgefertigten Großmembrankapsel in „echter“ Kondensatortechnik und der

hochwertigen Elektronik bietet es unverfälschte Klangqualität und einen geradlinigen, sehr
ausgewogenen Frequenzgang.

Die mit hochwertigen, diskreten Bauelementen aufgebaute elektronische Schaltung und das
schaltbare Vorabschwächungsfilter ermöglichen einen hohen Dynamikbereich, garantieren die
saubere Verarbeitung von sehr hohen Schalldrücken und bieten ein geringes Eigenrauschen. Das
schaltbare Hochpassfilter unterdrückt niederfrequenten Störschall (zB Trittschall, Rumpel- oder
Windgeräusche) und kompensiert die bei geringen Mikrofonierungsabständen auftretende
Bassanhebung durch den Nahbesprechungseffekt. Dies ermöglicht auch die Nahfeld­Mikrofonierung von vielen Instrumenten wie zB elektrische Gitarren, Blechblasinstrumente und
Schlagzeug.

Hohe Zuverlässigkeit auch im anspruchsvollen Bühneneinsatz wird durch die robuste Konstruktion
aus Metall und die hohen Produktionsstandards gewährleistet.

Lieferumfang

Bitte kontrolliere gleich nach dem Öffnen den Inhalt der Verpackung. Falls sie nicht vollständig ist,

Bedienelemente

Das X1 S besitzt je einen Schalter für das Vorabschwächungsfilter und den Hochpassfilter.

Vorabschwächungsfilter

Der Schalter für das Vorabschwächungfilter befindet sich auf der
linken Seite des Mikrofons. Ist er aktiviert, schwächt er das Signal
von um 10 oder 20 dB ab, um die Aufnahme von lauten
Instrumenten bzw. Nahfeldmikrofonierung ohne Verzerrungen zu
ermöglichen. Die Verwendung des Abschwächungsfilters verhindert

auch die Übersteuerung von Eingangsstufen von Audiointerfaces, Mischpulten und
Mikrofonvorverstärkern.

Hochpassfilter

Der Schalter für das Hochpassfilter befindet sich auf der
rechten Seite des Mikrofons. Windgeräusche, Popplaute,
Trittschall oder Rumpelgeräusche beeinträchtigen
möglicherweise das Aufnahmesignal. Durch Betätigung des
Schalters werden derartige Störsignale und daraus
resultierende Verzerrungen verringert. In der linken Position
setzt das Filter bei 80Hz ein, in der rechten bei 160Hz.
Zusätzlich verringert der Hochpassfilter die bei geringen
Mikrofonierungsabständen auftretende Bassanhebung
durch den Nahbesprechungseffekt.

Stromversorgung

Für eine einwandfreie Funktion wird eine Phantomspeisung mit 48V gemäß IEC 61938 benötigt.

Beschädigungsgefahr

Schließe das Mikrofon nur an geeignete Quellen (Eingang mit
Phantomspeisung oder externe Speisung mit Phantomspeisung gemäß
IEC Standard) mit erdfreien Anschluss und verwende ein symmetrisches
Kabel mit Studiosteckverbinden IEC 268-12. Nur so kann eine
einwandfreie Funktion gewährleistet werden.

Sicherheit und Pflege

Beschädigungsgefahr

Bitte stelle sicher, dass die an das Mikrofon angeschlossenen Geräte die
gültigen Sicherheitsbestimmungen erfüllen und mit einer
Sicherheitserdung verbunden sind.

Reinigung des Mikrofons

Wir empfehlen das Mikrofon nach jedem Gebrauch mit einem trockenen, fusselfreien Tuch zu
reinigen und es in einem soliden Koffer oder einemMikrofonetui aufzubewahren.

控制装置

Breve descrizione

sE X1 S è un microfono a condensatore di alta qualità destinato ad una vasta gamma di
applicazioni in studio, dalla voce alle percussioni e agli strumenti acustici per esempio. Grazie al
progetto custom della della capsula da 1" assembata a mano, X1 S offre qualità sonora cristallina
e una risposta in frequenza uniforme e ben equilibrata.

L'elettronica accuratamente scelta con componenti a bassissimo rumore, insieme al pad di
attenuazion, permettono al microfono di sopportare al meglio anche alti livelli di pressione sonora
(SPL)per una gamma dinamica davvero elevata. Il filtrolow cut a due posizioni aiuta ad eliminare i
rumori indesiderati come il calpestioe possono anche compensare un eccesso di basse frequenze
causate dall'effetto prossimità. In questo modo X1 S diventa ottimo anche in applicazioni di
riprese ravvicinate di strumenti acustici e non comecabinet per chiatarra elettrica, ottoni e tamburi.

La robusta scocca in metallo e gli alti standard costruttivi lo rendono affidabile anche on the road,
sui palchi in situazioni live e in ogni condizione di utilizzo.

Controlli

X1 Sdispone di un PAD switch per attenuazione e uno per il filtro low cut.

SwitchAttenuazione

Lo switch per l'Attenuazione è posizionato nella parte frontale
a sinistra del microfono. Una volta attivato, il segnale in
ingresso viene attenuato di 10 o di 20 dBin modo che si
possano riprendere sorgenti ad elevata pressione sonora o a
distanza molto ravvicinata, senza distorsione.

L'utilizzo dello switch inoltre riduce la possibilità di saturare gli
stadi di ingresso delle interfacce audio, dei mixer e dei
preamplificatori microfonici.

Interruttore Filtro Passa Alto

Lo SwitchLow-Cut è posizionato nella parte frontale a destra
del microfono ed inserisce un filtro passa alto a 80Hz (nella
posizione di sinistra) o 160Hz (nella posizione di destra). Nella
posizione centrale il filtro è inattivo,per una risposta in
frequenza lineare. Il soffio del vento, le vocali consonanti
plosive, rumori dovuti al calpestio possono rovinare il segnale
da registrare: attivando il filtro passa alto (low cut filter)
vengono ridotti questo tipo di disturbi ed evitate distorsioni
indesiderate.Inoltre, il filtro low cut è utile anche per
minimizzare l'effetto prossimità quando si posiziona il
microfono molto vicino alla sorgente..

Alimentazione

Per funzionare nelle condizioni ideali il microfono necessita di essere alimentato tramite phantom
power con tensione di 48 Volts come da specifiche IEC 61938.

Rischidi infortunio

Non collegate il microfono ad alimentatori diversi da una sorgente di
alimentazione phantom (ingresso con phantom power o alimentatore
esterno standard IEC phantom), utilizzando un cavo bilanciato cablato
secondo IEC 268-12. Questo è l'unico modo per garantire un
funzionamento sicuro e affidabile.

Sicurezza e manutenzione

Brève description

Le X1 S est un microphone à condensateur de haute qualité prévu pour un large champ

d’applications en studio, de la prise de voix à la batterie en passant par les instruments

acoustiques et plus encore. Grâce à son design customisé, et à sa capsule à condensateur 1” fait-
main, il délivre une qualité de son exemplaire, avec une réponse fréquentielle équilibrée.

L'électronique et l'atténuateur commutable assurent une grande dynamique, avec une capacité à
supporter les niveaux de pression acoustique élevés (SPL) et des composants très peu bruyant.
Les filtres coupe bas commutables éliminent le « rumble " ou les bruits de pas, et peut aussi
compenser l'excès de basses fréquences causées par l'effet de proximité. Cela permet au X1 S une
prise de son rapprochée pour beaucoup d'instrument, y compris les cabinets de guitare électrique,
les cuivres, ou les batteries.

Contrôles

Le X1 S possède un commutateur d’atténuation et un commutateur pour le filtre coupe bas.

Commutateur d’atténuation

Le commutateur d’atténuation se trouve sur la face avant à

gauche du microphone. Quand il est actionné, le signal entrant

est réduit de 10 ou 20 dB pour capturer le son d’instrument

puissant et/ou la prise de son rapproché sans distorsion.
Utiliser ce commutateur aide aussi à prévenir la surcharge des

circuits d’entrée des interfaces audio numérique, table de

mixage, et des préamplificateurs de microphone.

Commutateur filtres coupe bas

Le commutateur des filtres coupe bas se trouve sur la face
avant à droite du microphone, et insert un filtre coupe bas à

de droite). En position centrale, les filtres sont désactivés
pour une réponse fréquentielle plate. Bruit de vent, plosives,
bruit de pas, ou « rumble » peuvent affecter le signal

enregistré, l’activation de ce filtre coupe bas réduit de tels

bruits indésirables et évite la distorsion. De plus, le filtre

coupe bas minimise l’effet de proximité quand vous

enregistrez une source à une très faible distance.

Alimentation

Afin d'assurer un bon fonctionnement, le microphone nécessite une source d'alimentation
fantôme fournissant 48 Volts conformément à la norme IEC 61938.

Risque de dommages

Ne pas connecter le microphone à une alimentation autre qu'une
source d'alimentation fantôme (entrée avec alimentation fantôme ou
alimentation fantôme externe au standard IEC) avec une masse
flottante, en utilisant un câble symétrique avec des connecteurs de
qualité studio conforme à la norme IEC 268-12 seulement. Ceci est la
seule façon d'assurer un fonctionnement sûr et fiable.

Descripción Breve

El X1 S es un micrófono de condensador de alta calidad pensado para cubrir un gran abanico de
aplicaciones de estudio, desde voces hasta baterías, instrumentos acústicos y mucho más.
Gracias a su diseño personalizado y su cápsula cuidadosamente seleccionada, proporciona un
sonido de alta calidad y una respuesta en frecuencia totalmente equilibrada.

La electrónica y su selector de atenuación aseguran un alto rango dinámico, con alto nivel de
presión sonora (SPL), gracias a sus componentes extremadamente silenciosos. El selector de
corte de bajas frecuencias elimina ruidos indeseados por transmisión de suelo y también
compensa el exceso de bajas frecuencias causado por el efecto proximidad. Esto permite al X1 S
realizar captaciones cercanas a fuentes sonoras como amplificadores de guitarra eléctrica,
instrumentos de viento y percusión. Su diseño completamente de metal, de construcción robusta
y bajo normas de fabricación de alta calidad, asegura un funcionamiento fiable incluso en las
aplicaciones más exigentes en entornos difíciles.

Controles

El X1 S proporciona un selector de atenuación y un selector de corte de bajas frecuencias.

Selector de Atenuación (Pad)

El Selector de Atenuación está situado en la parte frontal
izquierda del micrófono. Al activarlo, la señal de entrada se
reduce 10 o 20 dB para captar instrumentos de alta presión
acústica sin saturación. Usando esta atenuación también
ayuda a prevenir la saturación en los dispositivos de
grabación, consolas de mezcla y preamplificadores de
micrófono.

Selector Low-Cut

El selector Low-Cut está situado en la parte frontal derecha
del micrófono. Actívelo para reducir ruidos no deseados
como los provocados por el viento, consonantes oclusivas o
transmisiones por vibración. También minimiza el efecto
proximidad cuando de pretende grabar fuentes sonoras a
corta distancia

Alimentación

Para un correcto funcionamiento, este micrófono requiere de una fuente de alimentación Phantom
que proporcione 48 Voltios de acuerdo con IEC 61938.

Riesgo de daños

No conectar el micrófono a una fuente de alimentación que no sea
una alimentación Phantom (entrada con alimentación Phantom, o
una fuente de alimentación Phantom estándar con IEC externo) con
conector aéreo, usando un cable balanceado con conectores de
calidad de estudio IEC 268-12. Es la única manera de garantizar una
operatividad segura y fiable.

Cuidado y Mantenimiento

Riesgo de daños
