1.0 Introduction

This manual describes the functional, mechanical and interface specifications for the following Seagate Barracuda® 7200.9 PATA model drives:
ST3500841A ST3300822A ST3160212A ST3500641A ST3300622A ST3120814A ST3400833A ST3250824A ST3120213A ST3400633A ST3250624A ST3802110A ST3320833A ST3200827A ST3402111A ST3320633A ST3160812A
These drives provide the following key features:
• 7,200-RPM spindle speed
• High instantaneous (burst) data transfer rates (up to 100 Mbytes per second) using Ultra DMA mode 5.
• Tunneling Magnetoresistive (TMR) recording heads provide the drives with increased areal density.
• State-of-the-art cache and on-the-fly error-correction algorithms.
• Full-track multiple-sector transfer capability without local processor intervention.
• Quiet operation.
• 350 Gs nonoperating shock.
• SeaTools diagnostic software performs a drive self-test that eliminates unnecessary drive returns.
• Support for S.M.A.R.T. drive monitoring and reporting.
• Support for Read Multiple and Write Multiple commands.
• Support for autodetection of master/slave drives that use cable select (CSEL).
