MAIN FEATURES

  • Manual pan, tilt and zoom operations and focus and iris settings can be carried out.
  • Automatic focus, automatic iris, automatic white balance and automatic backlight compensation functions operate so that clear images are transmitted at all times.
  • If the camera is tilted so that it is facing directly downward, it automatically reverse through 180 degrees (automatic reverse function) so that continuous tilting between 0 and 180 degrees is possible.
  • Zoom and focus settings for up to 80 different monitoring positions can be stored as preset positions.
  • Up to 36 of the stored preset positions can be automatically viewed in succession (sequence). You can also set the order for switching between the different monitoring positions and the time period for each position to be monitored. Up to four different sequence modes can be set.
  • Up to 1000 commands can be stored for image traces (tours) used for manual pan, tilt and zoom operations, and the stored image traces can be reproduced automatically. Up to four different tour modes can be set.
  • You can set a start point and end point for image monitoring, so that automatic panning can be carried out between these two points. The automatic panning speed can also be set. Up to four different automatic panning modes can be set.
  • You can set the ranges for image monitoring areas (zones) and titles can be displayed while monitoring is in progress. Up to eight different zones can be set.
  • Places where monitoring may intrude on privacy can be shielded by grey patterns (masks). Up to four different areas can be masked.
  • The direction of the camera lens and the zoom ratio can be displayed on the monitor screen. If you set the direction of the camera lens using menu operations, the direction of the camera lens can be displayed on the monitor screen.

Sets the electronic shutter speed to a high shutter speed. (Example: 50 → 1/50 sec.)

C White balance settings (WHITE BALANCE) (See p26)

White balance adjustment can be carried out in the following two ways: automatic white balance (automatic tracing white balance: ATW) or manual white balance (MWB) .

  • ATW: Automatic tracing white balance mode. The white balance is adjusted automatically so that the optimum color is obtained even if the light source changes. (Default setting)
  • MWB: Manual white balance mode. A screen for adjusting the white balance manually will be displayed. This mode is useful for times when correct color reproduction cannot be obtained using ATW.
  • MWB-R: Sets the white balance R value. It can be set within the range of 000 to 255. The higher the number, the stronger is the red component.
  • MWB-B: Sets the white balance B value. It can be set within the range of 000 to 255. The higher the number, the stronger is the blue component.

D Backlight compensation settings (BLC)(See p27)

This sets backlight compensation

If some portions of the images are backlit, the center of the images is corrected when the setting is " ON " by means of center-weighted average metering in order to correct the brightness in the middle of the images

Pan and tilt settings control how the camera moves when it is operated directly by using the joystick lever.

A Settings using joystick operations (AUTO STOP IDLE)(See p29)

This sets the lens pan and tilt operations that are carried out when the joystick lever is operated.

The speed of pan and tilt operations (frame advance status) will be faster or slower depending on the controller being used. Adjust the speed to one which is comfortable to use for the operator of the controller.

The default setting is "020".

Available settings:

  • OFF: Pan and tilt operations are maintained at a constant speed.
  • 001–255: Pan and tilt operations become faster or slower depending on the number selected, so select a value that provides a comfortable speed for operation.

B Panning speed settings for different zoom rations (PROPORTIONAL PAN)(See p29)

The pan speed will be adjusted automatically in accordance with the zoom ratio.

Available settings:

  • ON: The lens rotation becomes slower when a closer zoom ratio is being used, so that objects can be monitored more slowly. (Default setting)
  • OFF: The lens rotation becomes faster when a closer zoom ratio is being used, so that objects cannot be monitored slowly.

Five automatic mode settings are available. Read the descriptions of each type of setting carefully to select the method that best suits the setup conditions for the camera.

A Preset position settings (PRESET POSITION)(See p34)

This is useful for retrieving image angles that are needed.

This function memorizes locations that are always being monitored. The angle, zoom and focus settings for the camera can be stored into a preset number setting.

  • Up to a maximum of 80 locations can be stored.
  • You can also use the numeric buttons and the ENTER button of the system controller to move to the preset positions for each number.

  • ① PRESET No.: Sets the preset number. The setting can be from 001 to 080.
  • TITLE: Sets the title for the preset position. The title that has been set can be displayed on the monitor.
  • 3 SETTING: Sets the preset position.
  • ④ SHOW CURRENT: Moves to the current preset position.
  • SHOW NEXT: Moves to the next preset position (in numerical order).
(Example of operation after setting)

B Sequential mode settings (SEQUENCE)(See p35)

This is recommended for use when setting automatic mode operations based on preset positions.

This mode is used to rotate between locations that have been stored in preset positions.

  • The camera can rotate to up to a maximum of 36 locations.
  • The order of rotation and the time spent at each location
  • can be set.
  • Up to four sequential modes can be set.

Making a hole for mount embedded type

If installing the mount embedded type (VCC-9000EBCP/EBSP, VCC-9100EBCP/EBSP), mark the installation position on the ceiling by the following procedure, and then drill a hole with a diameter of approximately 225 mm.

Setup conditions:

  • Ceiling thickness: 0.8 cm (0.38 inches) to 4.2 cm (1.65 inches)
  • Bearing load: 4 times the weight of the camera
  • A Marking the position using the accessory template
  • 1 Determine the installation position for the camera.
  • 2 Place the accessory template against the ceiling, and use a marker to draw a circle all around its edge.
  • 3 Use a blade or similar tool to make a hole along the line that has been drawn.
  • NOTE: When making the hole, always be sure to make it inside the line. If you make the hole outside the line, installation may not be possible.
  • 4 Once the hole has been made, insert the camera and secure it with the screws.

  • Marking the position using the drop-prevention wire
  • 1 Determine the installation position for the camera.
  • 2 Use the drop-prevention wire that is attached to the main cover of the camera to draw a circle 225 mm in diameter on the ceiling.
    • ①Use a drill to make a hole 3 mm wide at the center of the installation position.
    • ②Loosen and remove the screw that is attaching the drop-prevention wire to the main cover.
    • ③Hold the washer ring at one end of the wire against the 3 mm hole so that it is secure, and insert a pen or similar into the washer at the other end of the wire and pull the wire tight to draw the circle.

NOTE:

  • If the diameter of the circle that is drawn in the ceiling is greater than 338 mm, it will not be possible to install the camera. Be sure to check that the diameter of the circle drawn is within the range of 225±2 mm.
  • Be sure to reattach the drop-prevention wire in its original position after using it to draw the circle.
