Brand in the World
Leading the Way in the Digital Age
SANYO enjoys a well-deserved leadership position in the LCD projector
industry. Over the past several years our breakthroughs in LCD technology
have helped lead a tremendous surge in the growth of this industry. Even
so, SANYO is continuously striving to meet the challenges and demands
of an ever-changing world.
SANYO is at the forefront of expanding the possibilities of LCD projectors
through the use of advance digital technology. Most SANYO projectors
today employ digital technology in a variety of features including digital
interfacing (Digital Visual Interface, High-Definition Serial Digital Interface),
digital keystone correction, digital progressive scanning, and digital realized
interpolation technology. In the near future, select SANYO models will
accept an Ethernet card for digital networking using the IP addressing
scheme, and an optional Faroudja scaling board for enhancing color
reproduction and clarity in video images.
A Projector to Fit Any Need
With five distinct model classes, SANYO offers the widest range of projector
models in the industry, which means it’s a virtual certainty that there will be
a SANYO projector to fit the needs of ANY presenter in ANY situation. Each
category of SANYO projectors contains models that rank at the top of their
respective class in terms of brightness, features and versatility.
Our micro-mobile units, each weighing under six pounds with a footprint
under one square foot boast outstanding brightness for their size.
Ultraportable models are remarkably bright and exceptionally light
weighing in at between six and ten pounds. Most of these units feature a
built-in PC-card slot for SmartMedia cards, or accept an optional plug-in
Presentation Viewer for Compact Flash cards, thus enabling computerless
presentations.
As the name implies, our portable units are light enough to be carried
from presentation to presentation, as they only weigh between 11 and
16 pounds. SANYO portable projectors offer a tremendous combination
of high brightness, portability, and versatility.
Our fixed installation models are extremely bright offering features such
as lens shift to aid in twin-stacking for nearly double the brightness, and
a wide array of interchangeable lenses , making them perfect for
installations such as museums, libraries, corporate boardrooms or places
of worship.
SANYO’s large fixed installation models are unparalleled offering the
highest brightness, contrast ratio and resolution for projectors in their class.

SANYO LCD projectors. Check the individual product
listings on the following pages for
specific model information
Digital Interface
Sanyo, the world’s first LCD
projector manufacturer to offer
a direct digital interface, is again
leading the industry in this category
by offering projectors with a Digital Visual
Interface (DVI) and even a High-Definition Serial Digital Interface
(HD-SDI). These direct digital connections facilitate true digital data
transfer from the source to the projector, eliminating ghosting, noise
and signal degradation, while allowing for longer cable runs between
source and projector. An optional digital accelerator PC-Card makes
digital interfacing possible even with notebook computers.
Multi-Versatile Platform
A wide array of connectivity options is made possible through use of
Sanyo’s revolutionary Multi-Versatile Platform. Detachable interface
panels including inputs for HD-SDI, DVI, 5-BNC, D-Sub15, Video Y/C
and S-Video can be used in varying combinations to meet the source
input needs for most any situation.
Difference
3D Digital Progressive Scanning
Sanyo’s new proprietary 3D digital progressive scanning system ensures
high quality video images. A dedicated 16MB chip processes interlaced
video signals and monitors each pixel using Sanyo’s original movement
algorithm, enhancing both the vertical and diagonal resolution of
moving images. 3D digital Y/C separation enhances image quality and
reduces interference by separating the luminance and chrominance
signals. Image quality is further enhanced with 3D digital noise
reduction, which treats brightness noise and color noise separately.
Efficient Lamp Management System
Sanyo’s newly developed Lamp Management System individually
monitors and controls each of the lamps on our Two-Lamp and FourLamp projectors. Each lamp’s status – “ON” or “OFF” -- and cumulative
hours of use can be displayed on-screen. If a lamp expires while either
four or two lamps are in use, the Lamp Management System’s fail-safe
operation feature automatically switches to the matched pair of good
lamps, or to a single lamp on two-lamp systems. Additionally, to
maximize lamp life, two of the lamps may be switched off on fourlamp systems when full brightness is not required.
Digital Keystone Correction
With the press of a button, SANYO's new digital keystone correction
feature compensates for angled projector placement. By digitally and
mathematically interpolating an image's pixels, then reconstructing the
image, keystoned (trapezoidal) images are corrected on-screen.

High Contrast Optical System
Sanyo’s high-contrast optical system compensates for the polarized
scattering as the light passes through the LCD panels and increases
black contrast to achieve the highest on-screen contrast ratios possible.
A 10-bit digital gamma correction circuit is employed to effectively
suppress overwhelming whites in bright images and excessive blacks in
dark images.
HDTV Compatible
Selected SANYO projectors are High Definition Television (HDTV)
compatible, accepting the 1080i, 1035i, 720p, 575p, 575i, 480p and
480i HDTV resolution standards.

Digital Realized Video Scaling
When scaling a video image to fit the full screen size of the projector,
SANYO's advanced digital signal processing circuit and automatic
color correction circuit ensure the highest color accuracy possible and
dramatically enhance image-edge detail. SANYO's hybrid enhanced
processing technology circuit provides analog enhancement for richer
colors and digital enhancement for increased image definition.
Digital Realized Interpolation Technology (DRIT)
This revolutionary and proprietary technology digitally reconstructs an
image by either compressing or expanding it to make it compatible
with the resolution of the projector. For example, if an XGA image is
sent to an SVGA projector, the result is a true and natural-looking
SVGA image.
True Multimedia Flexibility
Selected models connect to an array of computers and AV sources,
including laptop PCs, Macintosh and PowerBook systems, VCRs,
camcorders, DVD and laser disc players, satellite and HDTV tuners.
Having assorted multimedia capabilities allows presenters to combine
materials that have been prepared in different media into one
presentation, adding excitement and versatility.
Ceiling Mountable and Rear-Screen Projection
The Ceiling and Rear display modes found on most SANYO LCD
projectors allow the projector to be suspended from the ceiling or set-
up behind the screen in a rear
projection application. By
selecting either the Ceiling or
Rear display mode from the
menu, the output will be
switched either top-to-bottom
or left-to-right, resulting in
proper image orientation for
your application.
International Usage
Sanyo LCD projectors offer a variety of features that make them
ideal for international usage.
1) A special auto-sense/auto-select feature automatically adjusts for
the correct voltage (100-120 and 200-240 AC,
50/60Hz) as soon as the projector is turned
on.
2) On-screen menus can be displayed in a
variety of languages.
3) Most Sanyo LCD projectors work with
all the major video color systems used
globally.
Presentation Viewer
Select Sanyo units offer the ability to make presentations without the
need for a PC to be connected to the projector. Through use of a builtin PC-Card slot on some models, or Sanyo’s new detachable
presentation viewer, images stored on a SmartMedia or Compact
Flash memory card can be shown directly from the projector. Media
Card Imager (MCI) software, also included, enables the user to quickly
and easily convert any PowerPoint presentation into a series of JPEG
files and save them to th e m e mo ry c ard .
