ENGLISH
PRECAUTIONS
-The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing.
-Do not use where there are extremes of temperature (below 5°C or
exceeding 35°C) or where direct sunlight may strike it.
-Because of the CD changer/MD deck’s extremely low noise and wide
dynamic range, there might be a tendency to set the volume on the
amplifier unnecessarily high. Doing so may produce an excessively
large output from the amplifier which could damage your speakers.
-Sudden changes in the ambient temperature may cause condensation
to form on the optical lens inside the unit. If this happens, take out the
disc (CD or MD), leave the unit for about 1 hour, and then proceed to
operate.
-When carrying the unit, be sure to remove the discs (CD and MD)
which may be inside and turn the power off. Wait at least 10
seconds, then unplug the mains lead from the AC outlet.
Otherwise, may damage the disc and/or the unit.
-The system’s speakers use powerful magnets. Do not place timepieces,
credit cards, cassette tapes or video tapes, etc. near the speakers.
-Do not install this equipment in a confined space, such as a book case
or built in cabinet.
Speakers (Fig. 5)
When connecting the speakers, make sure that (+) and (–) polarities are
matched properly. Otherwise, the sound may appear to be lacking in the
bass range and in stability.
Connect the speaker wire with the stripe to the red terminal (+) and the
other wire to the black terminal (–).
Note:
If desired, the speaker grilles can be removed.
Aerials (Fig. 5)
In areas close to a transmitter the simple indoor aerial is sufficient to
receive broadcasts. Extend the aerial wire as straight as possible and,
while listening to the sound from the system, secure it in a position which
yields minimal distortion and noise.
In fringe areas or where reception is distorted or noisy, an external aerial
(not supplied) should be connected instead of the simple indoor aerial.
Consult your dealer.
AM loop aerial
Assemble the loop aerial as shown in Fig. 6a. Unwind the aerial wires,
then connect them to the AM LOOP terminals. Place the loop aerial in a
position which yields the best AM reception, or attach it to a wall or other
surface as shown in Fig. 6b.
Recording copyright material without permission of the copyright owners
is usually an infringement. If you wish to re-record copyright material,
permission from the copyright owner is necessary. SANYO does not
approve of, and cannot be held responsible for, any unlawful use of this
machine.
ARRANGEMENT (Fig. 2)
CONNECTIONS (Fig. 3)
Note:
-Do not connect the mains lead to an AC outlet until all connections
have been made.
-The system is not completely disconnected from the mains when the
z/ON button is set to the z position.
-To prevent a noise interference from the mains, the core clamp is
attached to the mains lead. Do not remove it.
Notes on the flat connection lead
When using only the system DC-007C (CD changer and Tuner/
Amplifier)
The flat connection lead is provided as shown in Fig. 4a. Connect the CD
changer and Tuner/Amplifier with this lead as shown in Fig. 4.
-Do not remove the fixer and protective tape.
Note:
To minimize noise, the speaker, mains and any other leads should not
come close to the indoor or external aerial lead and AM loop aerial. Do not
place the aerial leads close to the system.
Video equipment/DVD player
Connect audio leads (not supplied) from the audio output sockets of a
video equipment/DVD player to the VIDEO (AUDIO) sockets.
Subwoofer
Connect an amplified subwoofer (not supplied) to the SUB WOOFER OUT
socket.
Digital equipment
The OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT socket (MD deck) reproduces MD’s digital
sound to your digital equipment. Before connecting, remove the cap on
this socket. The socket can be connected to the digital equipment which
has an optical input socket.
Headphones
Connect stereo headphones (not supplied) to the PHONES socket for
monitoring or for private listening. The speakers are automatically
disconnected when headphones are connected.
When using the system DC-007C (CD changer and Tuner/Amplifier)
and optional Tape deck and/or MD deck
Remove the fixer and protective tape before connecting.
-Do not remove the tape on the plug that is not used.
To connect
Push the middle of the plug and insert it until it clicks as shown in Fig. 3a.
-If you have difficulty inserting the plug, turn it over and reinsert it.
To disconnect
While pressing both latches, remove the plug as shown in Fig. 3b.

MD SYSTEM CAPABILITIES
MDs are recorded differently from cassettes. The MD recording system makes it possible to add or change disc and track titles after the recording is done.
It is also possible to change the playback order without making a new recording.
Because of these special features, the following symptoms may occur while using the MD. These symptoms are not an indication of a defect, but they
occur because of the methods used for storing digital data on the disc.
SYMPTOM
“Track Full” may appear even when there is blank space
available on the data area of the MD.
“Disc Full” may appear when blank space remains on the
MD.
There may be times when the total remaining time on the
MD does not increase when you erase many short tracks.
The total length of the recording time and remaining time
may not match the specified recording time of the MD.
Cannot combine tracks while editing.
When using the SEARCH feature, the sound skips.
LIMITATION
The starting and ending points for each track are stored in the TOC.
When you erase or record a portion of the MD many times, or perform editing of existing
tracks, portions of each track may be located on various portions of the MD. For this reason,
the storage capacity of the TOC may be filled before the total number of tracks has reached
the limit (254 max.). When this occurs, no more recording can be done on the MD.
(You can record on the MD again if you use “ALL ERASE”.)
If the MD is scratched or otherwise damaged, the damaged portion of the disc is skipped
during recording. If this occurs, the total available recording time will be reduced.
Short music tracks lasting less than 12 seconds may not be counted as tracks.
For this reason, blank space may not increase when you erase any short tracks.
The minimum unit of storage on the MD is one cluster, which is equivalent to 2 seconds
of recording time. If the recording is less than 2 seconds in length, one cluster is still
necessary to store the data. Therefore, the total recording time actually used may be less
than the full storage capacity of the MD.
In addition, if the disc has any damaged areas, they are skipped during recording, so the
defective area has the effect of reducing the available recording time.
When you repeatedly edit an MD, you may reach the point where further editing cannot be
done.
As well, you cannot combine a digital (i.e.-CD) recording track with an analog (i.e.-tuner
or cassette) recording track, nor a track recorded in stereo mode with one recorded in
monaural mode.
The sound may skip during music search when using an MD which was partially recorded
repeatedly.
Note:
You cannot copy a CD to an MD, then make another digital copy of the MD which was recorded on this unit.
This copy protection system complies with the Serial Copy Management System. You can, however, make analog copies of MDs recorded on this unit.

DEUTSCH
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN
Anschlußklemme (–) an.
Hinweis:
LOOP-Anschlußklemmen an.
