Parallel Port Hardware Installation
Warning: Shut down your computer and turn off its power before you install
the Parallel Port ImageMate. Failure to do so could damage your computer.
Note to USB users: Go to the next section of this guide.
1. If a printer is installed on your computer system, shut down its power and disconnect it from your computer.
2. Connect the parallel interface cable from the ImageMate to your computer’s parallel port.
3. Attach your printer’s parallel cable to the ImageMate’s pass-through parallel connector. This allows you to print without disconnecting the ImageMate from your computer.
4. Select the keyboard power adapter lead that is compatible with your PC keyboard socket. Unplug the keyboard from your computer and attach it into the shorter end of the Y-connector.
5. Plug the power jack (the longer end of the Y-connector) into the power input socket of the parallel pass through connector.
6. Attach the Y-shaped keyboard connector into the keyboard jack on your PC.
7. Make sure all cable connections are secure. You’re now ready to install the
ImageMate software.

Software Installation for Windows
Users (USB and Parallel Port)
Note to USB users: You must complete the software installation before con-
necting the ImageMate to your computer. Before using your ImageMate, it may be necessary to enable USB functionality on your computer. Since this procedure varies by computer brand, please reference your computer’s hardware documen-
tation or consult your dealer to verify how to install USB drivers on your computer.
Note to ALL users: It is strongly recommended that all other applications be closed before continuing with the software installation.
1. Restart your computer and wait for your Windows desktop to appear.
a. Insert the Installation CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. b. If your CD-ROM drive is auto run enabled, a menu will appear prompting you to
select a language. Proceed to Step 2. If the menu does not automatically appear after one minute, open My Computer, and open the CD-ROM icon. Proceed to Step 2.
2. Once you have selected a language, follow the on-screen prompts to install the ImageMate software.
3. The Software License Agreement window will appear. Click Yes.
4. The Choose Destination Location window will appear. After confirming the location for the ImageMate drivers (C:\SanDisk), click Next.
5. The Select Program Folder window will appear. Click Next.
6. The Start Copying Files window will appear. Confirm current settings and click Next.

7. If the drive letter assignment window is displayed, click OK to continue.
8. Click Finish to complete the Setup. Restart your computer and your ImageMate will be
ready for use when connected.
Software Installation for Macintosh
Users (USB only)
WARNING: Before you remove the Flash Media memory card, be sure to
ALWAYS drag the Flash Media card icon to the trash. Once the Flash Media card icon has been placed in the trash, you will be prompted to remove the media.
1. Insert the Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. Double click on the SanDisk ImageMate USB icon to open the Installation CD.
2. Double click on the SanDisk ImageMate Installer icon.
3. You will be prompted to read a warning message reminding you to never remove media
from the ImageMate until you have dragged the SanDisk ImageMate “untitled” volume icon to the trash. Click Continue to proceed with the installation.
4. After the installation files have been copied to the hard drive, click Restart to complete the installation. Remove the installation CD. You can now install the ImageMate onto your computer system.

USB Hardware Installation
(Windows and Macintosh)
Once your computer restarts and the Windows or Macintosh desktop reappears, simply connect the ImageMate’s USB cable into one of your computer’s available USB ports.
NOTE: The USB ImageMate is a high-powered USB device and is not support­ed on Macintosh keyboard ports. However, all self-powered USB ports and hubs are supported.
Using Your ImageMate
Your ImageMate works just like a floppy disk. After inserting the Flash Media card into the ImageMate, you can drag, drop, copy and paste files as you normally would.
NOTE TO IMAGEMATE SMARTMEDIA AND MULTIMEDIACARD USERS: Be sure to insert the Flash Media card into the ImageMate with the
gold contacts facing down as pictured below.
