Set Up Your Device
Step 1. Install the SIM
1. Locate the SIM card slot on the side of the
tablet and open the SIM card slot cover.
2. Position the SIM card with the carrier logo facing up.
3. Carefully slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot (as shown) until it clicks into place.
4. Close the SIM card slot cover.

Step 2. Install the optional microSD card
1. Locate the microSD card slot on the side of
the tablet and open the microSD card slot cover.
2. Position the microSD card with the gold strips facing down.
3. Carefully slide the microSD card into the microSD slot (as shown) until it clicks into place.
4. Close the microSD card slot cover.

Step 3. Charge the Device
Before turning on your device, charge it fully.
Your device comes with a charger and a USB cable. Plug the smaller end of the cable into the USB charger port on the top your device and the other end into the charger; then plug the charger into an electrical outlet.

accessory to charge your device. Improper handling of the charging port, and the use of an incompatible charger, may cause damage to your device and void the warranty.

Turn Your Device On and Off
1. To turn ON, press and hold the Power/Lock.
2. To turn OFF, press and hold Power/Lock
and follow the prompts.
Lock and Unlock Screen
1. To Lock, press the Power/Lock.
2. To Unlock, press the Power/Lock then
swipe your finger across the screen.
Initial Device Configuration
1. Select a language and tap START or tap ACCESSIBILITY if you are visually impaired
or hard of hearing.
2. Follow the prompts to complete setup.

Home Screen
Navigate the Home Screen
Swipe your fingers left or right to view the entire Home screen. Customize the screen with widgets and shortcuts to your favorite applications.
Status Bar
The Status bar displays at the top of your Home screen. Icons indicating your device’s status and new notification alerts displays on the status bar.
Notification Panel
Notification icons on the Status bar display calendar events, device status, and more. For details, open the Notification panel. Swipe down on the Status bar to display the Notification panel.

Customize Your Device
Widgets
Widgets act as shortcuts for applications and some device features.
► Tap and hold a widget to place on a home
screen.
Remove a Widget
1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a
widget to release it.
2. Drag the widget to the Remove icon (at the top of the display) and release it.
Note: Removing a widget does not delete the
widget, it just removes the widget from the Home screen.

Wallpaper
Change the look of the Home and Lock screens with wallpaper. You can display a favorite picture, or choose from preloaded wallpapers.

Mobile HotSpot
Turn your device into a Smartphone Mobile HotSpot. The feature works best when used in conjunction with 4G/LTE
Note: You must have qualif ying ser vice on your
account in order to use the Mobile HotSpot.
To activate the Mobile HotSpot service for the first time:
1. From the Home screen, tap
Settings

2. Tap On/Off to turn on Mobile HotSpot.
3. Edit the Network name field and then create
a new Network SSID name.
4. Enable the Broadcast network name (SSID) field if you would like to broadcast your SSID name to nearby devices.
5. Verify the Security field is set to WPA2 PSK.
6. Enter a new password then write it down.
7. Tap SAVE to store the new settings.
8. Confirm the Mobile HotSpot active icon
displays in the Status bar.
Note: During the initial setup process,
the connection is not secure. It is recommended that you maintain a secure connection by using a password for communication.

Note: Using your 4G service and Mobile HotSpot
drains your device’s battery. To keep using the phone as a HotSpot, keep it connected to a power supply.
To change the Mobile HotSpot password:
1. From the Mobile HotSpot screen, tap Mobile HotSpot

2. Delete the previous password and enter a new one into the Password field.
3. Tap SAVE to store the new settings.
USB Tethering
Share your device’s mobile data connection via a direct USB connection between your device and a single computer.
● If additional software or USB drivers are

account to use this feature.
To connect using USB Tethering:
1. From the Home screen, tap

2. Connect the computer to the device using
the USB cable, and then tap USB tethering. A Tethering or HotSpot active notification briefly displays.
