Battery:Puttinginthepower
YournewSamsungSPRINTPhonecomeswitharechargeablebatterythatispartiallychargedso
youcanuseitimmediatelyafteryouactivate,withoutanyhassle.Usethebatteryuntilitiscompletely
drained.Rechargingthebatterywithoutfirstcompletelydrainingordischargingitmayshortenthelifeof
thebattery.
Installingyourbattery.
Toinstallyourbattery,justfollowthesesimplesteps:
1.Holdthebatterywiththelabelracingdown,makingsurethemetalcontactsatthebaseofthebase
batterylineupwiththemetalcontactsonthebaseofthephone.
2.Placeitonthebackofthebaseofthephonewiththebaseofthebattery.
3.Pushupthebatteryreleaselatchonthebackofthephonewhilepushthebatteryonthethephone.
Turningyourphoneonandoff
Whenyou'rereadytoturnonyourSamsungDBDMPhone,checktoseethatthechargedbatteryhas
beeninstalledinthebackofthephoneorthatyouhaveanexternalpowersource(theRapidCigarette
LighterAdapterortheHands-FreeCarKit).Then,Simplypressandhold<END>.
Theredlightflashesbrieflyandthebannerisdisplayed,whichmeansyou'rereadytomakeacall.
Turningoffthephoneisjustassimple.Pressandhold<END>fortwoseconds.Thedisplaywillbe
blankwhenthepowerisoff.
Removingyourbattery.
1.First,turnthepowerofftoavoidlosingstorednumbersandmessages.
2.Pushupthebatteryreleaselatchonthebackofthephoneandpullitout.
Chargingyourbattery.
Youcantellwhetherornotyourbatteryneedstoberechargedjustbycheckingtheupper-rightcorner
ofyourphone'sdisplay,wherethebatterychargeindicatorislocated.Whenthebatterychargelevelis
low,thebatteryiconwillblinkandthephonewillsoundatone.
Ifyoucontinuetouseyourphonewithoutrechargingandthebatterylevelbecomestoolowitwillturn
offautomatically.Analerttonewillsoundjustbeforethephoneturnsitselfoff.Ifthishappens,
unfortunatelyyou'lllosewhateveryouwerejustdoing.So,watchtheindicatorandmakesureyourlevel
isokay.
Tochargeyourbattery,youshouldusetheSamsungDBDMTravelAdaptor,RapidDesktopCharger,
TravelChargerorRapidCigaretteLighterAdapterfromSamsung.

Usingtherapiddesktopcharger.
ShouldonlyusetheSamsung-approvedTravelAdaptorandACadapterwiththisSamsungDBDM
Phone.Usingthewrongonecouldcausedamage.
1.PlugoneendoftheACadapterintoyourphoneandtheotherendintoawalloutlet.
2.Insertthebatterypack.
TheblinkingredLEDanddisplayingcharactersintheLCD onthephonewillletyouknowthebattery
isbeingcharged.TheOffLEDandcharacterstellyouwhenthebatteryisatleast80percentcharged.
Ifyourbattery'schargeiscompletelyrundown,itwilltakeaboutthreehourstofullyrechargeit.You
mustcompletelydischargetheLi-Ionbatterybeforerechargingit.Rechargingthebatterywithoutfirst
completelydischargingitmayshortenthelifeofthebattery.
Ifyouleaveyourphoneturnedonwhileit'sinthecharger,yourbatterywilltakelongertocharge.

youdo,here'sandeasywaytogetitTurnyourphoneonandyournumberwillbedisplayedbriefly.If
youmissit,press<MENU>,press<2>toselect"PhoneBook"andthenpress<3>todisplayyour
number.
Answeringcalls.
Whenyourphonerings, simplypress<TALK>toanswer.Todisconnectwhenyou'rethrough,
press<END>.YoucancustomizeyouroptionsforansweringcallsusingtheAnyKeyAnswerfeatureon
theSetupmenu(press<8>,<5>afteraccessingthemenutoselectSetup).Thisallowsyoutopressany
key(except<END>)toansweracall.
UsingCallerID.
ThisfeaturetellsyouwhoiscallingyouonyourSamsungSPRINTPhonebydisplayingthecaller's
numberwhenthephonerings.(Ifthecaller'snameandnumberarestoredinyourinternalphonebook,
thecaller'snamewillbedisplayed,too.)Ifyoucallsomeonewhohasthisfeature,yourSamsung
SPRINTPhoneNumberwillbedisplayedontheirphone.
ToblockyourSamsungSPRINTPhoneNumberfrombeingdisplayedonallofyouroutgoingcalls,just
call SPRINTCustomerCard.Onceyouhavepermanentlyblockedyournumber,youcanreleasethe
blockforaparticularcall.

Three-WayCallingletsyouSENDwithtwodifferentpeopleatthesametime-Simplydialthefirstnumber
andpress<TALK>.Whenyouhaveconnected,press<TALK>toputthefirstcaller onhold.Next,
press<CLR>,dialthesecondnumberandpress<TALK>.Whenyouareconnected,press<TALK>
againtobeginyourthree-waycall.Thenyouusethisfeature,youwillbechargednormalairtimeraise
forbothcallsthatyouplace.
Savingoreditingyourownemergencynumbers.
YoucansaveuptothreeemergencyphonenumbersonyourSamsungSPRINTPhone,inadditionto
911.Tosavethosenumbers,followthestepsbelow.
1.Press<MENU>.
2.Press<8>,<4>toselect"Security."
3.Thephoneprompts."LockCode."Enteryourfour-digitlockcode(unlessyou'vechangedit,this
codeisthelastfourdigitsofyourSamsungSPRINTPhoneNumber).Onceyou'vesuccessfully
enteredyourlockcode,thephonedisplaysthesecuritymenu.
4.Press<3>toselect"Special#."Thephonedisplaysyoursecuritynumbers.(Ifnosecuritynumbers
havebeensaved,"Empty"isdisplayedineachslot.)
5.Selectanemergencynumberslotbypressingtheappropriatenumber.
6.Entertheten-digitemergencynumber(areacode+phonenumber)tobesavedinthatslotand
press<OK>.
7.Thephonedisplaysthenumberand"Saved" toconfirmthatthenumberwasstoredcorrectly.The
phonethenredisplaysthelistofemergencynumberssoyoucanmakeadditionalchanges.
8.Whenyouhavefinishedstoringnumbers,pressandhold<CLR>toexitandreturntothestandby
display.
