AVANT-PROPOS

Nous vous remercions d’avoir choisi un portable EFT930.

INSTALLATION. Nous vous recommandons de lire attentivement cette notice. Elle a été

rédigée à votre attention afin de vous donner les indications nécessaires à l'installation de
votre terminal.

En particulier : lorsque l'appareil vous est livré, la batterie logée dans le portable
n'est pas branchée. Reportez-vous au §"Installation, Branchement de la batterie"
pour effectuer ce branchement.

UTILISATION. Une fois votre EFT930 installé et équipé de votre (vos) application(s),
vous l'utiliserez en vous aidant du "guide d'utilisation" propre à votre (vos) application(s).

GARANTIE. SECURITE. Afin de bénéficier de la garantie attachée à cet appareil, et afin
de respecter les consignes de sécurité, nous vous demandons d'utiliser uniquement des
batteries agréées SAGEM Monétel et de confier les opérations de démontage uniquement à
une personne agréée.
Le non respect de ces consignes dégagera la responsabilité du constructeur.

Urgence téléphonique, mise hors ligne :

Vous avez un besoin urgent de téléphoner, mais EFT930 occupe la ligne
téléphonique.

Pour récupérer la tonalité, …

laissez votre combiné en position de raccroché, puis au choix :

appuyez sur la touche rouge (= ANNULATION);
ou enlever le terminal portable de son socle;
ou libérez la prise murale d'arrivée du réseau téléphonique en déconnectant

le câble téléphonique venant d'EFT930
puis branchez à sa place le conjoncteur de votre téléphone.

La tonalité est disponible dans un délai maximum de 6 secondes.

1. CONSIGNES DE SECURITE

A- Pour mettre le socle d'EFT930 hors secteur :

Déconnecter le bloc alimentation du réseau d'alimentation électrique.

B- Pile au lithium et batterie :

EFT930 est muni d'une pile au lithium qui n'est pas accessible à l'opérateur. Seule une personne

informée et habilitée peut être autorisée à ouvrir l'appareil et intervenir sur ce composant. Voir le chapitre
"Entretien", paragraphe "Pile au lithium".

EFT930 est équipé d'une batterie SAGEM Monétel spécialement étudiée pour ce terminal. Lors de son

remplacement, utiliser uniquement une batterie SAGEM Monétel de même type.

C- Réseau d'alimentation électrique :
Prévoir une prise d'arrivée du réseau d'alimentation électrique satisfaisant aux points suivants :

• prise installée à proximité du matériel et aisément accessible ;

• prise répondant aux normes et réglementations en vigueur dans le pays d'utilisation;
EFT930 peut se connecter sur u n réseau électrique à schéma de neutre de type IT (impédance de

terre au sens de l'EN 60950).

D- Réseau téléphonique :
Prévoir une prise d'arrivée du téléphone conforme aux normes et réglementations en vigue ur dans le

pays d'utilisation.

E- Trappe d’accès à la batterie et aux lecteurs SAM1 et SAM2 :
La trappe d’accès à la batterie et aux lecteurs SAM1 et SAM2, située sous l’appareil, doit être en place

au cours de l’utilisation normale de l’appareil (Voir chapitres "(Dés)installation des modules SAM1
et SAM2" et "Branchement de la batterie").

F- Trappe d’accès aux lecteurs CAM2, SAM3 et SAM4(ou SIM) :
La trappe d’accès aux lecteurs CAM2, SAM3 et SAM4(ou SIM), située sous l’appareil, doit être en place

au cours de l’utilisation normale de l’appareil (Voir chapitres "(Dés)installation des modules SAM3 et 4(ou
SIM)".

G- Avertissement – cas particuliers des portables radio (EFT930G et EFT930B)

Sécurité en avion
En avion, votre terminal portable doit être mis hors tension.
Son utilisation est illégale et le non respect de ces règles de sécurité peut entraîner des po ursuites

judiciaires et/ou l'interdiction de l'accès ultérieurs aux services du réseaux cellulaire.

Zone de danger d'explosion
Votre terminal portable ne doit pas être utilisé près de pompes à carburant.
Des réglementations limitent l'emploi d'équipements radio dans les usines de produits chimiques, les

dépôts de carburant et à tout emplacement où sont effectués des tirs de mines. Il est recommandé de s'y
conformer.

Appareils électroniques médicaux
Votre terminal portable est un émetteur radio qui peut éventuellement perturber les appareils médicaux,

par exemple prothèse auditive, stimulateur cardiaque, les appareils en milieu hospitalier, etc.

Votre médecin ou le fabricant des appareils pourront vous conseiller utilement.

3. UTILISATION JOURNALIERE

Sens d'introduction et de lecture des cartes

Introduction d'une carte à puce :
Puce visible sur le dessus (flèche 2)

Lecture de la piste magnétique (d'une carte à piste
ou d'une carte à puce) :

• Orienter la carte de la façon suivante :

- côté recto à droite (La piste magnétique se
trouve au verso).

- bord supérieur de la carte (défini par rapport au
sens de lecture du texte) posé à l'entrée du
lecteur.

• Faire défiler la carte manuellement dans le lecteur.

(Flèche 1).

Utilisation du socle

Une fois installé, le socle est conçu pour rester en permanence sous tension et raccordé au
réseau téléphonique.
 Il n'est pas souhaitable de partager la ligne téléphonique avec un autre équipement.

Le portable peut être reposé sur son socle entre chaque transaction.
Le portable devra être posé sur son socle dans les cas suivants :

• utilisation du réseau téléphonique : demande d'autorisation, télécollecte, téléchargement;

• traitement d'un chèque, si le socle est raccordé à un lecteur de chèques.

Autonomie des batteries

Le Portable hors de son socle peut effectuer 200 transactions à 20°C, à partir de batteries
complètement chargées.

Arrêt du Portable. Touche Marche

HORS SOCLE, après son utilisation et si ses batteries sont déchargées, le terminal se met
automatiquement en arrêt. Son écran s'éteint.
On peut aussi forcer son arrêt en appuyant simultanément sur la touche "Point" et sur la
touche "Jaune" pendant une seconde environ.

Pour remettre en marche le Portable, appuyer sur la touche du clavier marquée

.

Précautions concernant le papier thermique

Sachant que le ticket peut se détériorer en cas de stockage inadéquat,

nous vous recommandons d'éviter

:

• le stockage aux endroits chauds et humides (proximité de climatiseur, taux d'humidité
supérieur à 85%);

• l'exposition au soleil ou aux rayons ultraviolets de longue durée;

• le contact avec des solvants organiques (adhésif à solvant);

• le contact direct avec des matériaux contenant des plastifiants (enveloppes ou chemises
transparentes en polychlorure de vinyle);

• le contact direct avec des papiers "diazo";

• le contact direct avec l'eau;

• la pression ou le frottement trop fort du papier.

4. DEBALLAGE. CONSTITUTION DU PRODUIT

Conservez soigneusement l'emballage de votre EFT930.
Il devra être réutilisé pour tout transport.

L'emballage contient :

• le portable, équipé de :

- son pack batteries non branché,

- son rouleau de papier,

• le socle destiné à recevoir le portable

• le bloc alimentation débrochable,

(Le bloc alimentation livré avec votre terminal est spécialement étudié pour
celui-ci. N'en utilisez pas d'autre.)

(L'utilisation d'un bloc alimentation ayant des caractéristiques tension/courant

apparemment identiques peut malgré cela entraîner une dégradation du terminal.)

• le câble téléphonique,

• la notice d'installation.

5. TRAPPE BATTERIE

La trappe batterie se trouve sous l'appareil.
Précaution : Mettre hors tension avant d'ouvrir le

portable.

5.1. OUVERTURE

1- Retourner le PORTABLE sur la table, face dessous

visible (figure ci-contre).

2- Déclipser la trappe avec les ongles en appuyant

simultanément sur les deux clips comme indiqué
par les flèches 1 sur la figure ci-contre.

3- Lever la trappe du côté des clips (flèches 2),

dégager les deux pattes arrière de dessous le
capot et enlever la trappe.

5.2. FERMETURE

La fermeture s'effectue en sens inverse de l'ouverture.
1- Engager les deux pattes arrière de la trappe sous le capot.
2- Rabattre la trappe vers l'avant pour la clipser.

Si un SAM empêche la fermeture de la trappe, vérifier son sens d'introduction.

3- S'assurer que les clips sont bien engagés sous le capot en les repoussant manuellement.

ET SAM2

SAM 1 SAM2

Précaution : Mettre hors tension avant d'ouvrir le portable.

Ouvrir la trappe batterie (Voir §"Trappe batterie") :
on peut lire le repérage des emplacements SAM1,
SAM2, gravé dans le capot inférieur.

À l'introduction du SAM dans son emplacement, prendre
soin de positionner son coin coupé comme indiqué sur la
figure ci-contre.
La position du coin coupé figure aussi sur le capot
inférieur.
Refermer la trappe batterie.

Astuce : En cas de difficulté, on peut s'aider d'un ruban
adhésif pour désinstaller un SAM.

7. TRAPPE CAM2 (LECTEUR SECONDAIRE)

La trappe CAM2 se trouve sous l'appareil.

Précaution : Mettre hors tension avant d'ouvrir le portable.

7.1. OUVERTURE

• Retourner le PORTABLE sur la table, face dessous

visible (figure ci-contre).

• Déclipser la trappe avec les ongles en appuyant

simultanément sur les deux clips comme indiqué
par les flèches 1 sur la figure ci-contre.

• Lever la trappe du côté des clips (flèches 2) et

l'enlever.

7.2. FERMETURE

La fermeture s'effectue en sens inverse de l'ouverture.

• Engager l'avant de la trappe sous le capot.

• Rabattre la trappe vers l'arrière pour la clipser.

• S'assurer que les clips sont bien engagés sous le capot en les repoussant manuellement.

8. (DES)INSTALLATION DES MODULES SAM3
ET SAM4 (OU SIM)

Les modules SAM3 et SAM4 (ou SIM) s'installent sous la trappe CAM2.

SAM4 SAM3

MMC ou SDCARD

L'emplacement 4 peut être utilisé par un SAM ou par un SIM.
Précaution : Mettre hors tension avant d'ouvrir le portable.

• Ouvrir la trappe CAM2 (Voir le § "Trappe CAM2") :

On peut lire le repérage des emplacements SAM3,
SAM4, gravé dans le capot inférieur.

• Introduire le SAM dans son emplacement en prenant

soin de positionner son coin coupé comme indiqué sur
la figure ci-contre.
La position du coin coupé figure aussi sur le capot
inférieur.

• Refermer la trappe d'accès CAM2.

9. (DES)INSTALLATION MMC OU SDCARD

L'accès au logement de la MMC ou de la SDCARD s'effectue par la trappe CAM2.
Précaution : Mettre hors tension avant d'ouvrir le portable.

Pour installer une MMC ou une SDCARD (figure ci-desus) :

• Ouvrir la trappe d'accès CAM2.

• Insérer complètement la MMC ou la SDCARD dans la fente d’introduction indiquée par la

flèche dans le dessin ci-dessus. Attention à la position du coin coupé.

• Refermer la trappe d'accès CAM2.

Pour désinstaller une MMC ou une SDCARD :

• Ouvrir la trappe d'accès CAM2.

• Retirer la MMC ou la SDCARD.

• Refermer la trappe d'accès CAM2.

10. LECTEUR SECONDAIRE DE CARTE A PUCE

Le lecteur secondaire est aussi appelé "lecteur CAM2"
L'accès au lecteur secondaire s'effectue par la trappe CAM2

Précaution : Mettre hors tension avant d'ouvrir le portable.

Pour introduire une carte à puce dans le lecteur CAM2 :

• Ouvrir la trappe d'accès CAM2.

• Introduire complètement la carte à puce dans le lecteur

dans le sens suivant :

− puce vers l'avant, avec la puce non visible (puce sur
la face inférieure) ;

− piste magnétique visible sur la face supérieure
(croquis ci-contre) ;

• Refermer la trappe d'accès CAM2.

Pour retirer une carte à puce du lecteur CAM2 :

• Ouvrir la trappe d'accès CAM2.

• Retirer la carte à puce.

• Refermer la trappe d'accès CAM2.

11. INSTALLATION

11.1. INSTALLATION D'EFT930 SUR SON SOCLE

Poser EFT930 entre les joues de
son socle de façon que les contacts
d'EFT930 s'emboîtent sur les
contacts du socle (figure ci-contre).

11.2. BRANCHEMENTS SUR LE SOCLE

Rappel des consignes de sécurité

:
Choisir une prise d'arrivée du réseau électrique correspondant aux consignes
générales de sécurité données au chapitre 1 de ce document.

 Socle P (socle pour EFT930P ou EFT930G option Modem)

Vue arrière du socle

A = poste téléphonique éventuel B = conjoncteur du téléphone (selon pays)
C = raccordement au réseau téléphonique D = prise arrivée réseau téléphonique
E = prise d'arrivée du réseau électrique F = bloc alimentation
G = liaison réseau téléphonique H = entrée alimentation

Effectuez les opérations suivantes :

• Raccorder le socle au réseau téléphonique :

- Connecter la prise téléphonique C, associée éventuellement à un conjoncteur
normalisé dans le pays d'utilisation, au réseau téléphonique D.
Raccorder l'autre extrémité du cordon à la prise G du socle.

- Connecter éventuellement le téléphone A (La présence du téléphone A n'est
pas nécessaire pour le fonctionnement du terminal)

- France : connecteur B au réseau téléphonique D via la prise gigogne

- autres pays : téléphone raccordé au socle via la prise "J" (prise type RJ…).

• Brancher le bloc alimentation F sur la prise d'arrivée du réseau d'alimentation
électrique.

Prise G (=prise J)

: circuit TRT-3 : Tension de Réseau de Télécommunication, suivant

norme de sécurité EN 60950.
Prise I

: Cette liaison établissant des circuits TBTS (très basse tension de sécurité),
elle doit être nécessairement interconnectée à un équipement dont les interfaces sont
alimentées par des circuits de même nature.
L'établissement des connexions sera réalisé appareil hors tension.

 Socle G (pour EFT930G sans l'option Modem).

L'aspect extérieur du socle G est identique à celui du socle P. Les connecteurs visibles ne
sont cependant pas fonctionnels, à l'exception du jack alimentation.

11.4. BRANCHEMENT DE LA BATTERIE

Le pack batteries se trouve dans le carton d'emballage.



Sur un appareil neuf le pack batteries n'est pas connecté.

1- Retourner le PORTABLE sur la table, face

dessous visible et enlever la trappe batterie
(Voir §"Trappe batterie")

2- Prendre le pack batteries et repérer le

détrompage du connecteur de la batterie ainsi
que celui du connecteur de la carte qui apparaît
au fond du logement batteries (figure 1).

3- En respectant le détrompage des

connecteurs et la couleur des fils (figure 1),
enficher complètement le connecteur du pack
batteries sur la carte (sentir le verrouillage).

4- Poser le pack batteries dans son logement

(figure 2).

5- Refermer la trappe du logement batteries.

11.5. CHARGE DE LA BATTERIE

Quand charger?

• A la première mise en service

, laisser la batterie en charge 16 heures dans les

conditions d'environnement préconisées ci-dessous.

• En utilisation journalière

, le PORTABLE rechargera ses batteries chaque fois qu'il
sera posé sur son socle.
La charge est gérée automatiquement.
En partant d'une batterie complètement déchargée, il faut 8 heures pour une
recharge complète.

Où charger?

• L'environnement dans lequel s'effectue la charge influe sur la durée de vie de la
batterie et sur son autonomie (nombre de transactions hors socle).
Les conditions de charge optimales sont les suivantes :

- charger à l'abri de source de chaleur externe (radiateur, soleil, endroit

confiné,…) ;

- température comprise entre +15°C et +25°C.

Comment charger?

Via le socle…

• Poser le PORTABLE sur son socle.

• S'assurer que le symbole d'une prise électrique apparaît sur l'écran du
portable et que le symbole batterie est animé (= batterie en charge).

Via le connecteur mini-USB esclave…

(Le portable n'est pas posé sur son socle.)

• Raccorder le Bloc Alimentation à l'adaptateur BA-USB. Voir §"Annexe, Adaptateur
BA-USB de voyage".

• Raccorder l'ensemble au connecteur mini-USB esclave présent sur le côté du
portable. Voir §"Branchements sur le portable"

• Raccorder le Bloc Alimentation au réseau électrique.

• S'assurer que le symbole batterie est animé (= batterie en charge).

11.6. REGLAGE DU CONTRASTE

Si vous souhaitez augmenter ou diminuer le contraste des caractères affichés à l'écran, vous
pouvez le faire en appuyant simultanément sur les touches "Point" et "

", ou sur les touches

"Point" et "

".

Maintenir l'appui sur les touches aussi longtemps que nécessaire.

11.7. MISE EN PLACE D'UN RO ULEAU DE PAPIER

Attention

: Utiliser du papier agréé SAGEM Monétel. Diamètre du rouleau : 40 mm.

L'utilisation de papier non approprié risque d'endommager l'imprimante de votre terminal.

1- Supprimer le premier tour de papier en

cas de mise en place d’un rouleau neuf.

2- Ouvrir le capot du logement papier

(figure 1a) de la façon suivante :

• Lever le loquet de fermeture situé à
l'arrière d'EFT930 ;

• Accompagner le basculement du capot
vers l'arrière de l'appareil. (figure 1b)

3- Installer le rouleau de papier dans son

logement selon le sens de déroulement de
la figure 2.

4- Dévider le papier jusqu'au sommet de

l'appareil (figure 2).
Le maintenir dans cette position.

5- Tout en maintenant le papier, refermer le

capot. (figure 3).

6- Appuyer simultanément sur les deux

extrémités supérieures de la trappe papier
(figure 3). Celle-ci se clipse en assurant le
maintien du papier.

EFT930 est prêt à être utilisé.

Astuce : le niveau de papier est visible par

l'orifice latéral gauche.

L'installation étant réalisée, poursuivre la
mise en service d'EFT930 en consultant les
notices qui concernent les applications.

12. ENTRETIEN

12.1. FONCTIONNEMENT DU PORTABLE EN CAS DE PANNE DE
BATTERIES

Une panne de batteries peut être diagnostiquée de la façon suivante :

• l'écran n'affiche rien,

• ou l'écran affiche BATTERIE ABSENTE lorsqu'on pose EFT930 sur son socle.

• ou, même après une charge prolongée, le terminal ne dispose que d'une autonomie
très limitée.

Il faut changer la batterie.
En cas d'absence de batterie, l'initialisation des applications présentes dans l'appareil

reste possible en posant le terminal sur son socle. Cependant, il n'est pas possible
d'effectuer des transactions dans ces conditions.

12.2. ÉCHANGE DE LA BATTERIE

Il est impératif d'utiliser un pack batteries agréé SAGEM Monétel.

Il y a risque d'explosion si la batterie utilisée n'est pas agréée SAGEM Monétel.

• Enlever le portable de son socle.

• Commander l'extinction en appuyant simultanément sur la touche "Point" et sur la
touche "jaune" pendant une seconde environ.

• Enlever le couvercle du logement batterie (voir § "Trappe batterie").

• Lever la batterie et la sortir de son logement.

• Déconnecter avec précaution la batterie :

• a) libérer le verrouillage (flèche F1) du connecteur
tout en exerçant sur les fils de la batterie une traction
verticale (flèche F2) par rapport au fond du capot de
façon à débrancher le connecteur; cesser la traction
dès que le connecteur est déclippé.

• b) terminer l'extraction du connecteur en inclinant
celui-ci légèrement (flèche F3) de façon à l'éloigner
de la paroi du terminal.

• Déclarer au terminal qu'on lui a changé la batterie
pour cela, démarrer le terminal sans batterie en le déposant sur son socle.

• Brancher et installer la nouvelle batterie en suivant les indications du § "Branchement
de la batterie".

• Refermer le capot du logement batterie et charger la batterie en suivant les indications
du § "Charge de la batterie".

• Afin de préserver l'environnement, mettre au rebut la batterie usagée conformément
aux instructions de recyclage en vigueur dans le pays d'utilisation.

• En cas de stockage du terminal pour une longue durée (supérieure à 2 mois) ôter la
batterie du terminal.

Cette simple mise sous tension permet au terminal de mémoriser l'absence batterie, il
adoptera alors un comportement adéquat avec la futur batterie.

12.3. PILE AU LITHIUM

A l'attention des services de maintenance :
Attention cet appareil contient une pile au lithium. Il y a danger d'explosion s'il y a

remplacement incorrect de celle-ci. Remplacer uniquement avec une pile de même type
ou d'un type équivalent recommandé par le constructeur.
Mettre au rebut les piles usagées conformément aux instructions de recyclage en
vigueur.

Seul un personnel informé et habilité peut être autorisé à intervenir sur ce composant.

12.4. NETTOYAGE DE L'APPAREIL

• Débranchez tous les cordons du socle.

• Utilisez un chiffon doux

TRES LEGEREMENT humecté d'eau savonneuse pour nettoyer

les capots du terminal et du socle.

• Votre liaison terminal-socle peut être polluée par des micro-poussières et votre
appareil présenter en conséquence le ou les défauts suivants :

- même posé sur son socle, le terminal ne se recharge pas, ne charge pas,

- le terminal ne voit pas la ligne téléphonique.

Vous devez alors nettoyer les contacts électriques de la liaison du côté terminal et du
côté socle pour cela :

- nettoyer toute la poussière visible avec un chiffon sec,

- ensuite, utilisez un coton tige que vous aurez trempé dans l'alcool ménager puis

essoré de façon à ce qu'il soit légèrement humide (il ne faut pas faire pénétrer de
liquide à l'intérieur des appareils. Frottez plusieurs fois les plages des contacts
avec le coton tige pour évacuer toutes les particules adhérentes et/ou chargées
electostatiquement (la pollution peut être difficile à voir à l'œil nu).

- remettez le terminal en fonctionnement.

13. TRANSPORT ET STOCKAGE

• Utiliser les emballages d'origine pour tout transport et stockage de l'appareil.

• Il est recommandé de débrancher la batterie lorsque le portable n'est pas utilisé
pendant une période supérieure à un mois.
La méthode à suivre pour débrancher la batterie est indiquée au § "Échange de la
batterie".

FOREWORD

Thank you for choosing an EFT930.

INSTALLATION. We recommend you to read these instructions very carefully. They are

included with your EFT930 in order to explain its installation.

Particularly: when you receive a new terminal, the battery located in the portable is not
connected. See § "Installation, Connecting the battery" to realize this connection.

USE. Once it is installed and equipped with your application(s), you can use your

EFT930 following the instructions in the "user’s guides" specific to your application(s).

GUARANTEE AND SAFETY. In order to benefit from the guarantee on this equipment

and in order to follow the safety instructions, we ask you to use only SAGEM Monetel
approved batteries and to entrust disassembly procedures solely to an authorized
person.
The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any unauthorized handling of an EFT930
terminal.

Telephone emergency, hanging up:

You have an urgent call to make, but EFT930 is on your telephone line.
In order to get a dial tone, ...

Place the handset in the hang up position and:

press the red key (= CANCEL) ;
or remove the portable terminal from its base ;
or disconnect the EFT930 telephone connector from the telephone wall socket,
and place the telephone connector into the telephone wall socket.

You will get a dial tone within 6 seconds.

1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

A- In order to power down the EFT930 base :

disconnect the EFT930 power supply block from the electric power supply network.

B- Lithium battery

The EFT930 is fitted with a lithium battery which is not operator accessible. Only a qualified technician
may be authorized to open the unit and service this component.
Refer to the paragraph entitled "Lithium battery" in the "Maintenance" chapter.

C- Electrical power supply network
Provide an inlet connector for the electrical power supply network that meets the following points:

• Connector installed near the equipment and easily accessible;

• Connector meeting standards and regulations in force in the country of use;
D- Telephone network

Provide an inlet connector for the telephone in compliance with standards and regulations in force in the

country of use.

E- Cover flap for battery and SAM1 and SAM2 reader
The cover flap for batteries and for the SAM1and SAM2 reader, located underneath the terminal, must be

in place during the normal operation of the terminal. See sections "(De)Installation of SAM1 and Sam2
modules" and "Connecting the battery".

F- Cover flap for CAM2, SAM3 and SAM4 (or SIM) reader
The cover flap for CAM2, SAM3 and SAM4 (or SIM), located on the underside of the terminal must be in

place during normal operation of the terminal. See chapter "(De)Installation of SAM3 and Sam4 (or SIM)
modules".

G- Warning – special cases of radio handset (EFT930G and EFT930B)

Safety in airplanes
When in an airplane, your handset must be switched of by removing the battery pack.
Its use is illegal; non-compliance with these safety rules may result in legal proceedings and/or a ban on

later access to cellular network services.

Explosion hazard areas
When near a petrol pump, you should not use your handset.
Regulations limit the use of radio equipment in chemical product plants, fuel depots and any place where

there is blasting. These regulations must be complied with.

Electronic health appliances
Your handset is a radio transmitter witch may eventually interfere with health appliances, for example

hearing aids, pacemaker, equipment hospital environments etc.

Your doctor or the equipment manufacturer will be able to provide you with appropriate advi

Using the base

Once installed, the base is designed to remain on constantly and connected to the telephone
network.
 The telephone line should not be shared.

The portable may be placed back in its base after each transaction.
It

must be placed on its base in the following cases:

• telephone network using: authorization request, remote collection, downloading;

• check processing, if the base is connected to a check reader.

Battery autonomy

Removed from its socket, the Portable can perform up to 200 transactions at 20°C, provided
completely charged batteries are used.

Stopping the Portable, Start Key

Removed from its socket, after it has been used and if its battery is empty, the terminal
automatically shuts off. The screen is turned off.
It may also be forced stopped by pressing simultaneously "Point" and "Yellow" keys during
one second.

In order to restart the Portable, press the

key on the keyboard.

Precautions when using Heat-Sensitized Paper
As the ticket may deteriorate in the event of improper storage, the following must be

avoided:

• Storage in areas that are hot and humid (close to a heater/cooling unit, degree of humidity
greater than 85%),

• Long-term exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet rays,

• Contact with organic solvents (solvent-based adhesives),

• Direct contact with material containing softening (plasticizing) agents (envelopes or clear
plastic folders made of PVC),

• Direct contact with whiteprint paper,

• Direct contact with water,

• Rubbing or pressing the paper too strongly.

4. UNPACKING. PRODUCT CONTENTS

Carefully preserve the packaging of the EFT930.
It must be re-used whenever the terminal is shipped.

Packaging contains:

• PORTABLE itself, equipped with:

- its battery pack not connected,

- its paper roll;

• Base receiving the PORTABLE;

• Detachable power supply unit;

(the power supply unit delivered with your terminal is specially designed
for it. Do not use any other power supply.)

The use of a power supply having apparently similar voltage/current characteristics
may, in spite of it, damage your terminal;

• Telephone cable;

• Installation manual.

5. BATTERY COVER FLAP

The battery cover flap is located under the portable.

Caution :

Switch off the machine before opening the cover.

5.1. OPENING

• Turn the PORTABLE over on the table with the
bottom side facing up (figure opposite).

• Unclip the cover flap by pushing on the clips with
your nails in the direction of the arrow 1 as shown
opposite.

• Lift the cover flap on the clips side (arrow 2),
disengage the two rear limiting tabs from underneath the terminal housing and remove the
cover flap.

5.2. CLOSING

To close up the device, carry out the above operations in the reverse order.

• Engage the two rear limiting tabs of the flap cover under the terminal housing;

• Fold cover downwards to clip it on.

If a SAM stops the cover flap from closing, check the direction of its insertion.

• Make sure the clips are totally engaged under the housing by pushing them manually.

engraved in the lower housing.

• When introducing a SAM in its slot, be sure to put the c

Handy tip: use a piece of adhesive tape to grip the SAM to
make withdrawal easier.

7. CAM2 COVER FLAP (SECONDARY READER)

remove the cover flap.

7.2. CLOSING

8. (DE-)INSTALLATION OF SAM3 AND SAM4 (OR SIM)
MODULES

The SAM3 and SAM4 (or SIM) modules are installed under the CAM2 cover flap.
The location 4 may be used by a SAM or a SIM.

Switch off the machine before opening the cover.

• Open the CAM2 cover flap (See § "CAM2 cover flap"):

you can read the location mark of SAM3 and SAM4
engraved in the lower housing.

• When introducing a SAM in its slot, be sure to put the

cut corner as indicated on the figure opposite.
The position of the cut corner is also engraved on the
lower housing.

• Close the flap cover.

9. (DE-)INSTALLATION OF MMC OR SDCARD

To gain access to the MMC or to the SDCARD connector, open the CAM2 cover flap.

Caution:

Switch off the machine before opening the cover.

To install a MMC or a SDCARD (figure above):

• Open the CAM2 cover flap.

• Insert the MMC or a SDCARD fully home into the connector slot shown by the arrow in the

figure above. Be sure to put the cut corner as indicated on the figure above.

• Close the CAM2 cover flap.

To remove a MMC or a SDCARD:

• Open the CAM2 cover flap.

• Withdraw the MMC or a SDCARD.

• Close the CAM2 cover flap.

10. SECONDARY SMART CARD READER

The secondary smart card reader is also called "CAM2 reader".
To gain access to the secondary smart card reader,
open the CAM2 cover flap.

Caution :

Switch off the machine before opening the cover.

To insert a smart card into the CAM2 reader:

• Open the CAM2 cover flap.

• Position the smart card with the chip in the position

shown in figure opposite:

- chip forward, but not visible (facing down)

- magnetic stripe visible (facing up).

• Insert the card fully home into the slot.

• Close the CAM2 cover flap.

To remove a smart card from the CAM2 reader:

• Open the CAM2 cover flap.

• Withdraw the smart card

• Close the CAM2 cover flap.

type connector).

− Connect power supply block F to the mains electrical socket E.

: TNV-3 circuit: Telecommunication Network Voltage, as per

safety standard EN 60950.

Socket I:

SELV circuit: Since these links are Safety Extra Low Voltage circuits, they
must be interconnected to units which have interfaces powered by the same type of
circuits.
Connecting is to be made when the terminal is off.

11.4. CONNECTING THE BATTERY

The battery pack is contained in the packaging carton.

On a new device, the battery pack is not connected.

1- Turn the PORTABLE over on the table with the

bottom side facing up and remove the cover flap
(See §" Battery cover flap")

2- Locate the battery pack connector foolproofing

and the board connector located under the
battery compartment (figure 1).

3- Plug the battery pack connector on the board

according to the connector locating system
and the wire colors (figure 1). Feel the locking.

4- Place the battery pack in its compartment

(figure 2).

5- Close the battery compartment cover flap.

11.5. CHARGING THE BATTERY

When is the battery to be charged?

• On initial start up

, charge the battery for 16 hours under the environmental

conditions stated above.

• When used daily

the PORTABLE will recharge its batteries each time it is placed
on its base.
Charging is automatic.

A completly discharged battery requires 8 hours for a complete recharge.

Where is the battery to be charged?

• The environment in which the charge takes place influences battery lifetime and
autonomy (number of transactions out of base).
The optimal conditions are as follows:

- charging away from any external heat source (radiator, sun, enclosed area…);

- the optimal temperature is between +15°C and +25°C.

How is the battery to be charged?

Using the base

• Place the PORTABLE on its base.

• Check to see if the electrical plug symbol is displayed on the portable screen
and if the battery symbol is moving (=battery charging).

Using the slave mini-USB connector of the portable

(The portable is out of its base)

• Connect the power supply unit to the BA-USB adapter. See §"Appendix, BA-USB
travel adapter".

• Connect this assembly to the slave mini-USB connector located on the side of the
portable. See §"Portable connections".

• Connect the power supply unit to the mains.

• Check to see if the battery symbol is moving (=battery charging).

11.6. ADJUSTING THE CONTRAST

If you wish to modify the contrast of the characters displayed on the screen, simply press and
hold the "Point" and "

" or "Point" and " " keys as long as necessary to obtain a

satisfactory contrast.

11.7. INSTALLING A ROLL OF PAPER

Warning

: Use only paper approved by SAGEM Monetel.
Use of unsuitable paper is likely to damage the printer of your terminal.
Roll diameter: 40 mm.

1- If you are inserting a new roll, tear off the

first length (one complete turn).

2- Open the paper recess cover plate

(figure 1a) as follows:

• Raise the catch located on the rear of
the EFT930;

• Grip the cover plate and tilt it down from
the rear of the terminal. (Figure 1b)

3- Insert the roll of paper in its housing

following the direction of movement shown
in figure 2.

4- Pull the paper up to the top of the terminal

(figure 2). Hold it in this position.

5- Push up the cover plate fully home.

(Figure 3).

6- Press simultaneously on both upper corners

of the paper flap (arrows on figure 3) until it
clips into position and holds the paper.

The EFT930 terminal is now ready for use.

Handy tip: the amount of paper remaining can

be checked by looking through the left side
hole.

Once installed, continue EFT930 setup by
following the instructions in the application
manuals.

12. MAINTENANCE

12.1. OPERATING THE PORTABLE IN CASE OF BATTERY FAILURE

A battery failure can be diagnosed in the following manner:

• Screen does not have any display;

• or battery icon appears crossed when you put the EFT930 on its base;

• or, even after a long battery recharging, the terminal autonomy is very limited.

It is necessary to change the battery.
If there is no battery, initialization of applications present in the equipment is still possible.

This is done by putting the terminal on its base. Nevertheless, it is not possible to carry
out transactions under these conditions.

12.2. CHANGING THE BATTERY

It is imperative to use a battery authorized by SAGEM Monetel.

There is danger of explosion if battery used is not approved by
SAGEM Monetel.

• Remove the portable from its base.

• Turn it off by pressing simultaneously the "Point" key and the "yellow" key during
about one second.

• Remove the cover of the battery housing (see § "Battery cover flap".

• Lift battery and remove it from its housing.

• Carefully disconnect battery, following the
instructions below.

a) Unlock the connector by pressing the locking
mechanism as indicated by F1 arrow while pulling
wires (arrow F2), so as to disconnect the connector.
Release traction on it as soon as the connector
comes unclipped.

b) Finish extracting connector by tilting it slightly

(arrow F3) so as to bring it away from the housing of
the terminal.

• Inform the terminal that its battery has been changed. Do this by starting the terminal
without battery and fitting it on its base.

• Connect and install the new battery by following the instructions in § "Connecting the
Battery".

• Close the battery cover flap and charge the battery. See § "Charging the Battery".

• In order to preserve the environment, dispose of used batteries in compliance with
current recycling legislation in the country of use.

• If the terminal is to be stored for a long time (more than two months), remove the
battery from the terminal.

Simply powering up enables the terminal to memorize that there is no battery; it will then
perform correctly with the future battery.

12.3. LITHIUM BATTERY

For the attention of maintenance departments:
Warning: this equipment is provided with a lithium battery. There is a risk of explosion if

this battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace using only a battery recommended by the
manufacturer.

Dispose of used batteries according to current recycling legislation.
Only qualified personnel can be authorized to service this component.

12.4. CLEANING THE UNIT

• Unplug all the wires from the base.

• Use a soft cloth

VERY SLIGHTLY dampened with soapy water to clean the Portable

hoods and the base. Do not clean the contacts.

• The terminal-base connection may become contaminated by dust, and your unit could
then show the following faults:

- Even when put on the base, the terminal does not recharge or charge.

- The terminal does not detect the telephone line.

You should then clean the electrical contacts of the terminal and base connections:

- Clean off all visible dust with a dry cloth.

- Then, dip a cotton bud in domestic alcohol and squeeze it slightly damp (liquid

must not penetrate inside the equipment). Rub the cotton bud on the contact
surfaces several times to remove all particles adhering to them and/or
electrostatically charged particles (contamination can be difficult to see with the
naked eye).

- Return the terminal to use.

13. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

• Use the original packing material for any unit transport or storage.

• Disconnect the battery whenever the portable is not to be used for a period exceeding
one month.
The method to disconnect the battery is indicated in the § "Changing the battery".

Certification information (SAR)

The model wireless equipment meets the government's requirements for exposure to
radio waves.

Your wireless equipment is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and
manufactured not to exceed limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by
the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the U.S. Government and by the
Canadian regulatory authorities. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and
establish permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are
based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organizations
through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standards include a
substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, regardless of
