1. After long working periods external metal parts and accessories could be hot.
2. Your grass shear will be warm when working, this is normal.
3. Prepare for use. Make sure that this grass shear has been correctly assembled and prepared for use as described in this user guide.
4. Uses the grass shear only in daylight or good articial light.
5. Never hold the cutting blade near or point it at other people or animals when in use.
6. Always remove any thick sticks etc, from the hedge before use. Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter blade. Do not remove cut material nor hold material to be cut when blades are moving.
Make sure the switch is off when clearing jammed material.
A moment of inattention while operating the machine may
result in serious personal injury.
7. The cutting bla de continues to move for a few moments after switching off. When transporting or storing the grass
shear always t the cutting device cover. Proper handling of the grass shear will reduce possible injury from the cutter
blades.
8. Be sure of your footing. Always be sure of your footing when using steps and when working on slopes.
9. Do not cut branches that are too thick.
10. Never use the grass shear in rain or damp weather.
11. Check the cutting blade regularly, replace it if damaged. Use only the manufacture’s recommended replacement parts and accessories. The appliance should be inspected and maintained regularly.
Repairs should be carried out only by an authorized repair-
er.
12. Store the tool inside and keep out of the reach of children.
13. Never allow children to use the tool.
14. Heavy duty gloves should always be worn when using the hedge trimmer.
15. This trimmer has been designed to cut soft, new growth and should not be used on branches, hard wood or other form of cutting.

off the machine and removing the battery.
17. Do not use the hedge trimmer while you are tired or under
the inuence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
18. Check the hedge for foreign objects, e.g. wire fences.
19. Carry the grass shear by the handle with the cutting blade
stopped.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR THE CHARGER
1. Do not allow any liquid to come into contact with the charger. There is a danger of electric shock.
2. The charger is not intended for any use other than charging the exact type of battery tool as supplied with the charger.
Any other use may result in the risk of re, electric shock or
electrocution.
3. The charger and battery tool supplied with it are specically
design ed to work together. Do not attempt to charge the battery tool with any other charger than the one supplied.
4. Do not place any object on top of the charger as it could
cause overheating. Do not place the charger near any heat source.
5. Pull on the charger to disconnect it from the power source. Do not pull on the lead.
6. Make sure that the charger lead is positioned where it will
not be stepped on, tripped over or otherwise subjected to
damage or stress.
7. Do not use an extension cord unless it is absolutely necessary. The use of an improper extension cord could cause
the risk of re, electric shock or electrocution.
8. Do not use the charger if it has been subjected to a heavy
knock , dropped or o therwise d amaged in any way. Take the charger to an authorized service centre for a check or repair.
9. Do not disassemble the charger. Take it to an authorized service centre when service or repair is required. Incorrect
re-assembly may result in the risk of re, electric shock or
electrocution.
10. To reduce the risk of an electric shock, unplug the charger from the power supply before attempting to clean it.
11. The charger is designed for use from a standard household electrical supply. Do not attempt to connect the charger to a supply with a different voltage.
12. Do not abuse cord or charger. Never use the cord to carry the charger. Do not pull the charger cord rather than the plug when disconnecting from receptacle. Damage to the cord or charger could occur and create an electric shock hazard. Replace damaged cords immediately.
13. Do not let gasolin e, oils, petroleum-based products, et c. come in contact with plastic parts. They contain chemicals that can damage, weaken or destroy plastic.
14. Do not charge other batteries. SH-7.2V300 is suitable only
for charging BHS-720. Otherwise there is danger of re and
explosion.
15. Do not use other battery chargers for charging BHS-720.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR THE BATTERY
1. To ensure the longest battery life and best battery performance, always charge the battery when the temperature is between 0~40°C (32-104°F). Do not charge the battery when the temperature is below 0°C (32°F), or above 50°C (122°F). This is important. Failure to observe this safety rule could cause serious damage to the battery.
2. Do not incinerate the battery even if it is seriously damaged or can no longer hold a charge.
The battery can explode in a re.
3. A small leakage of liquid from the battery may occur under extreme usage or temperature.
This does not necessarily indicate a failure of the battery.
However, if the outer seal is broken and this leakage comes into contact with your skin:
--- Wash the affected area quickly with soap and water.
--- Neutralise the liquid with a mild acid such as lemon juice
or vinegar.
If the leakage gets in your eyes:
--- Flush your eyes with clean water for a minimum of 10
minutes and seek immediate medical attention. Inform the medical staff that the liquid is a 25-35% solution of potassium hydroxide.
4. Do not store or use the tool and battery in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 50°C (122°F) such as alongside sheds or metal structures in the summer.
5. Allow the battery to cool down after charging. Do not place it in a hot environment such as a metal shed or open trailer left in the sun.
6. Only charge the battery with the charger supplied.
