PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The PTM-1 page trigger will interface the page output of a telephone or paging system to the PR-4Zi and pre-amplifier systems. The PTM-1 Paging Module is a signal sensing paging adapter which will accept the page output or other line-level audio output from telephone paging systems, paging preamplifiers, switch triggered voice/sound recording devices etc.
PTM-1 WIRING CONFIGURATION
Use 22-24 AWG twisted pair shielded wire to connect the PTM-1 to the PR-
4Z page input as shown in Figure 1.
By using Voice / Sound Recording devices such as the Visonic Ltd. Model SP-2, systems may be configured to playback recorded sound (i.e. doorbell chime, or voice indicators such as “Front Door” etc.). Call Russound for availability.
PTM-1 SETTINGS
From the bottom of the PTM-1 adjust the trigger sensitivity so that the green LED comes on when a signal is present at the line audio input. Then adjust the delay so that the green LED will turn off some time after the audio signal turns off. This delay will allow a period of time (up to 10 seconds) for any continued audio signal. Adjust the signal audio level to match the level of audio from your other sources. This is up to 3 times the input signal up to 6 v peak to peak. For example, play the CD player at a volume setting then page your system and adjust the volume level from the PTM-1 to approximately match the volume of the CD player. This is easily done when used with PR-4Zi preamplifier. When the page signal comes in, the trigger will turn off the audio source that is playing and allow the audio for the page signal to come through.
