The IRB-1 provides an effective in-wall method to connect tabletop infrared receivers.
IMPORTANT – Read the manuals that are included with the IR
receivers and other IR equipment you intend to install with the
IRB-1. It is important that you are familiar with the connection
and operation of these devices. If you are unsure of any of the
following installation procedures, this product should be
installed by a professional custom installer.
IR System Connections
1) Run 22 gauge, 3 or 4 conductor, shielded cable with drain
wire, such as Russound Pt. No. AW2260AB, into a standard
electrical junction box as shown in Figure 1.
2) Make sure that the IR system’s power source is not
connected.
3) Connect the wire to the +V, GND and SIGNAL (SIG) connections of the IRB-1 as shown in Figure 1. Please note that the
STATUS connection does not need to be connected.
4) Connect the other end of the wire to the IR system’s main
connecting block, such as Russound Pt. No. IRB-6, as shown
in Figure 1. Make sure that the drain wire of the cable is connected to the GND terminal of the input connector on the IR
system’s main connecting block. The drain wire does not
need to be connected to the ground connection of the IRB-1.
