1/4 Inch Nut Driver or Socket
7/16 Inch Nut Driver or Socket
Electric Drill with 3/16 Inch Bit
CAUTION: FOLLOW SAFE WORK PRACTICES.
DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE SERVICING. USE
LOCKOUT TAGOUT PROCEDURES TO PREVENT
OTHERS FROM ENERGIZING THE CIRCUIT WHILE
YOU ARE WORKING.
REMOVING THE OLD FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY

Sharp Permanent Marker
Wire Cutter/Crimper
Gloves and Eye Protection

Remove screws and
fan grill. Keep screws.
Remove motor mount screws
while supporting the motor.

Loosen set screw and
remove/discard old fan.

Carefully tilt and remove the
assembly. Discard old motor,
mount, and capacitor (if present).
Disconnect motor wire
quick connects.
PREPARING THE MOUNTING HOLES
Install legs onto motor with blunt screws.

Legs should curve toward shaft end.
Center the assembly over the
venturi. The motor wire bushing
should face upward. The fan must
be centered and turn freely. Mark
the small leg holes onto the venturi
with a permanent marker.
TIP: When retrofitting multiple fan units, use one fan assembly to mark the hole positions for all
venturi openings.

Temporarily install the fan and

hand tighten the nut.

Drill out the three marked hole
locations with a 3/16 inch drill bit.
