The eX-310 Scale is designed for weighing boxes, packages and other heavy items. The scale is also
ideal around the house or even in a gym as a bathroom scale.
Please note that the weights provided are for reference and informational purposes only. It is not
intended that the weight be used or relied upon for any commercial use.
Warning: To prevent damage, DO NOT exceed the specified weight capacity of the scale.
REMOTE DISPLAY
The wired, remote display allows you to conveniently weigh large boxes without interfering with the
display readout. We recommend hanging the display on a wall using two nails aligned with the two
hanging-holes on the back of the display unit.
BASIC OPERATION
1) Ensure that the scale platform is placed on a hard, flat, level surface, such as the floor or a tabletop.
Do not place on a plush rug, carpet or other soft or un-even surfaces.
2) Press the on/off-tare button. Do not place anything on the scale platform before or while the unit
is turned on. Wait for “0.0” to appear on the display. The scale is then ready for weighing.
3) Place the item on the scale; the weight is displayed within a couple of seconds.
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS:
1) If placed on the floor, be sure the scale platform is out of the way and installed in a protected
location where no one can step-on, kick or trip over the product.
2) The scale should not be placed on a porous surface or one that has been treated with any substance
that may interact with the rubber feet. Depending on the surface or cleaning solution, the rubber
may leave marks on the surface. As a precaution, do NOT keep the scale on any valuable surface,
such as antique or precious/fine wood tables, desks, floors, etc., for any extended periods of time.
The “LOW BATTERY” icon will turn on in the far left side of the display when the battery power is
low. Replace the two “AA” (1.5-Volt) batteries as soon as possible or switch to using the AC adapter
included with the unit.
AUTO POWER OFF
The unit automatically turns itself off after a period of 120-seconds of inactivity. To restart the scale,
simply press the on/off-tare button.
UNIT OF MEASURE
The scale can measure the weight of an item in either pounds or metric (kilograms). While the scale is
turned-off, move the switch located on the back of the remote display to either Lb for a weight reading
in Pounds or Kg for a weight reading in Kilograms. The unit of measure should only be selected or
changed while the scale is turned-off.
TARE FUNCTION
The tare function allows the display to be reset to show a weight of zero, even after placing an object
on the scale. This feature allows you to get the net weight of an item in a container or a box.
1) Place the container or box on the scale platform, the weight of which you do NOT want included in
the weight shown on the display.
2) Turn the unit “on” by pressing the on/off-tare key. Once the weight reading of the container is
stable, “0.0” appears on the display.
3) Place item/contents to be weighed into the container or box.
4) Read the weight of the contents on the display. The weight shown on the display will be the
weight of the item in the container, excluding the weight of the container itself.
Remove all items from the scale platform and press the on/off-tare key to turn the scale off and reset it.
IMPORTANT: Please note that the total weight of the container and its contents should not exceed
the weight capacity of the scale.
