a. Connect the HDMI cable (included) to the media
player HDMI output and to the LCD monitor input.
b. Connect the A/C power adapter (included) and
power cable (included) to the media player and plug into an outlet.
c. To turn the media player on, press the power button
on the top corner. NOTE It may take 5-6 seconds
for the light to turn on.
If using DisplayStudio bundled monitor: d. Connect the power cord to the included monitor
and power outlet. Located on the back right hand side of the monitor, turn the power switch to the “On” position.
e. Located on the back bottom right corner of the
monitor, slide the remote control receiver down.
f. Power the monitor on with the remote control or
manually. The monitor will show the DisplayStudio logo.
If using a monitor not supplied by Roland, please follow the monitor instructions provided.

Follow these steps to setup Roland DisplayStudio™ media player and soware using a networked computer and internet connection. For alternative setup options, please download instructions at
www.rolanddga.com/displaystudio/setup.

a. Be sure the monitor is turned on when
configuring the media player.
b. Connect the media player to your network
with a standard ethernet cable (not included).
c. To configure the media player and download
DisplayStudio soware, you must first obtain the IP address of the media player. To do this, plug any USB thumb drive (not included) into any USB port of the media player. The IP address of the media player will be displayed on the monitor (ie. 192.168.1.5).
IMPORTANT: Note this IP address as you will
need it in steps 2d and 3d, then remove USB thumb drive.
d. With the computer that will drive the DisplayStudio
soware, open a web browser and enter the IP address obtained in step 2c. NOTE The computer (not included)
and the media player that will drive the DisplayStudio soware must be on the same network.
Recommended browsers: Internet Explorer, Chrome,
Firefox, Safari
e. You will be prompted with an authentication screen.
Enter the following login and password.
Login: config Password: cfgpasswd
f. You are now brought to the DisplayStudio media
player configuration menu.
g. To configure the media player, under “System
Information”:
1. Name the media player (default will be Roland1).
NOTE If more than one media player is on the same
network, each media player must have a unique name.
2. Verify the “Server Hostname”. The IP address here should always be 127.0.0.1 and should not be changed for single media or multiple player installations that are not networked.
h. To set the local time, click on the “Advanced Settings”
on top of the screen. Under “Date/Time”, configure as necessary and save. Return to home page by clicking on the “Resources” on top.
i. DisplayStudio soware is an Adobe AIR application.
To install, under “Download”
1. Click “Adobe AIR Integrated Runtime” and follow
the onscreen instructions.
2. Once finished with step 1, click “Roland DisplayStudio Application” and follow the onscreen instructions.
Once complete, a shortcut will be installed to your desktop.

a. In the Playlist screen, select “Create”. b. Name your playlist and click “Add”. c. Bring files into your file library by dragging
and dropping or by clicking “Add” to browse and locate files.
d. Add files from your file library to your playlist by
dragging and dropping files or selecting files and
clicking the >> icon to bring them to the playlist. e. Click “Save”. f. To send a finished playlist to a media player, go to
the “Target” dropdown menu, located in the bottom
right, and select your target media player (screen). g. Click “Send”. h. At this time the signage screen attached to the
media player should reset and the playlist should
begin playing and repeat until changes are made
and sent to the player.
a. Open DisplayStudio soware. b. You will be prompted to log in. Use the following
user ID and password and select “Remember My
Credentials”. User ID: admin
Password: password c. Click on “Settings” in the upper right hand corner. d. In the field “Display Server IP Address”, enter the
IP address obtained in step 2c. e. Click “Apply”. It may take up to a minute to connect. f. To check if the media player is connected properly,
click the “Screens” tab. You should see the media
player named in step 2f. If you do not see the
media player, click “Refresh” and then “Ok”.
