status. With the Printer Management Utility, print
operators can also download settings to multiple
printers and remotely access the full functionality of
the multilingual operator panel.

The InfoPrint 6500 cartridge ribbon printer
family can increase machine availability thanks to
fast ribbon changes. Optional extended-life car­tridges require fewer operator interventions over
time. Featuring an intelligent ribbon system,
InfoPrint 6500 printers can alert users when a new
ribbon is needed and then automatically reset the
Ribbonminder after a new ribbon is installed.
Operators can also set the Ribbonminder to
stop printing at the ribbon usage point of their
choosing—thereby helping to maintain quality and
to eliminate costly reprints.

With the InfoPrint 6500 family of printers, you can
take advantage of an optional integrated wireless
Ethernet interface. In addition, increased processing
power and enhanced Microsoft® Windows® driv­ers deliver improved output performance, especially
when you print barcodes, graphics or overlays.

Providing a user-friendly design

The InfoPrint 6500 family features a high-function,
multilingual operator interface with built-in
attention light, blue touch-point controls and an
auto-platen stop recall device, which supports the
proper gap adjustment following a forms reload.

Printers are available with an open pedestal or
enclosed cabinet design. Models with enclosed
cabinets provide acoustic levels that are quieter
than many laser printers. The open pedestal design
minimizes floor-space requirements and optimizes
access to forms. Enhancements to the pedestal
design also include increased accessibility for ribbon
loading and heavy-duty casters for improved
mobility.

The cartridge ribbon system and its “clean-hands”
technology can reduce user intervention, printer
cleaning and supply costs. The cartridge ribbon
operates in a mobius loop—a design that delivers
consistent print quality because it flips the ribbon
regularly so both sides of the ribbon are used.

Standard cartridges and extended-life cartridges,
available on most models, are designed to meet
differing print volume requirements. Standard car­tridges are rated at up to 17,000 pages, and
extended-life cartridges are rated at up to
30,000 pages.
