1. The configuration of the position sensor bracket has been changed. The position
sensor has been raised by 1 mm.
2. The notch holes (A) for the Separation Guide and the Paper Feed Guide Position
Sensor have been enlarged.
When installing the new Position Sensor Bracket, if the feeler comes in contact with
this part please replace the Separation Guide and the Paper Feed Guide at the same
time.
3. A retaining ring has been added to decrease the play in the thrust direction.
4. For part management reasons, the part number for the Separation Roller Stay has
been changed.

The purpose of this modification is to reduce the front door discoloration and to prevent
the oil supply roller from not rotating which leads to black spots on copies.
Front Door Discoloration
The cause of the discoloration was that urethane in the oil supply roller became
discolored due to the heat from the fusing section. The discolored components turned
into gas and then adhered to the doors. To prevent this from recurring, heat is applied to
the oil supply roller after its production. However, if this part is used, the oil supply roller
may not rotate because it becomes harder and this increases the friction between the oil
supply roller and the oil supply cleaning roller. To maintain the proper friction level, the
thickness of the oil supply cleaning blade will be changed from 0.1 mm to 0.08 mm.
Please note that the oil supply cleaning blade and the oil supply roller are only
interchangeable if they are replaced at the same time, so we recommend that this be
dune.
Non-rotation of the Oil Supply Roller
In conditions where the pressure of the spring and the oil supply cleaning blade are
strong, but still within specifications, if a copy is not made for a long time after the main
switch has been turned on, the oil supply roller becomes harder due to the heat from the
hot roller. The shape of the oil supply roller, from a side view, then comes to resemble a
“D” instead of the original “O”. Since the contact area between the hot roller and the oil
supply roller increases due to the change in the shape of the oil supply roller, the contact
pressure between the hot roller and the oil supply roller decreases. Therefore, the oil
supply roller does not rotate.
Since the new oil supply roller is harder, the shape of this part will not become deformed
even if copies are not made for a long time after the machine has been on. As a result of
the modification, the thickness of the oil supply cleaning blade has been changed to
maintain the proper pressure between the hot roller and the oil supply roller.
