Toner Waste System
.
SYMPTOM:
The toner waste system becomes clogged when the Development Motor is run under the following
conditions. This clog can damage the Development Unit Collection Coil or the Development Unit Waste Coil
Transport Drive Gear.
• Output Check: Development Motor SP5804
• Toner Fill SP2253
• TD Sensor Initialization SP3801

CAUSE:
These symptoms are caused by firmware issues.

PRIMARY SOLUTION:
Update the following firmware:
D095
• Engine: 1.006:16 or above
• System: 1.02 or above
• Language: 1.02 or above
• Operation Panel: 1.02 or above
• Network Support: 7.11 or above
• Web Support: 1.01 or above
M077
• Engine: 1.006:16 or above
• System: 1.04 or above
• Language: 1.04 or above
• Operation Panel: 1.05 or above
• Network Support: 7.12 or above
• Web Support: 1.02 or above
Procedure:
1. Update firmware as a set.
2. Slide each PCDU [B] out and inspect the upper gear for damage.
a. Replace Gear if broken PN: G1783362
b. Vacuum Development Unit Collection Coil.
SECONDARY SOLUTION:
(If firmware is not updated)
Run the additional procedures below to prevent waste system clogs.

• Toner Fill (SP2253)
1. Enter SP Modes.
2. Open the left door.
3. Enter SP5804-152 (Waste Toner Transport Motor 1) and turn On.
4. Enter SP5804-153 (Waste Toner Transport Motor 2) and turn On.
5. Enter SP2253-xxx and Execute.
6. When completed, enter SP5804 and turn Off #152 and #153.
• ID Sensor Initialization (SP3801-xxx)
1. Enter SP Modes.
2. Enter SP5804-152 (Waste Toner Transport Motor 1) and turn On.
3. Enter SP5804-153 (Waste Toner Transport Motor 2) and turn On.
4. Enter SP2253-xxx and Execute.
5. When completed, enter SP5804 and turn Off #152 and #153.
• Development Motor Output check (SP5804-162, 163, 164, 165)
1. Enter SP Modes.
2. Enter SP5804-152 (Waste Toner Transport Motor 1) and turn On.
3. Enter SP5804-153 (Waste Toner Transport Motor 2) and turn On.
4. Enter SP5804-162, 163, 164, 165 and turn On.
5. When completed, turn Off SP5804 and turn Off #(162, 163, 164, 165), #152 and #153.
• Toner Fill (SP2253-xxx) and TD Sensor Initialization (SP3801-xxx)
1. Firmware will be modified. (Release schedule: TBD)
