the reliability and durability of the upper inverter roller, the material of the rollers has been ch anged and the color of the
rollers has been changed from white to gray. The interchangeability is X/O.

This modification has been applied to the service parts only. The belt cleaner packed with the production machines has not been changed, because the new belt cleaner is flammable and we cannot ship it wit h the machine.
NOTE: We are now, developing another belt cleaner which is not flammable and does not contain CFC m aterial.
It will be phased in when the development and testing are complete.

Therefore, two total counters have been registered as spare parts:
1. # 54395246 [This counter is preset at a count lower than 0 (9998920 ± 15) so that tests and inspection can be made on the production
line.]
2. # 54399015 [This counter is initially set at 0001000 ± 100.]
The following problems have been reported concerning counter # 54395246. Therefore, counter # 54399015 has been registered.
A. If counter # 54395246 is supplied as a spare part, the customer engineer cannot distinguis h between a used and a new counter since a
number like 9998920 ± 15 causes it to look like a used counter.
B. Some dealers have had problems with individuals who sell used copiers as new machines. If counter # 54395246 is supplied as a spare
part, used machines can be easily sold as new ones by replacing the total counter. This caus es great confusion with the service activities
in the field and sales activities.
Therefore, please supply # 54399015 to those dealers who have had the problems mentioned above, and supply # 54395246 to the others.
And please keep the counters in stock that meet your dealer’s requirements.
