The Rice Lake Adult and Child Scale takes the traditional bathroom scale to a new level. Powered by either battery or AC
adapter, this scale allows you to get the child’s precise weight while keeping the child safely cradled in your arms.

CAUTION
To prevent personal injury to the user and damage to your scale, please follow these instructions carefully:
• Do not attempt to transport the scale while someone is standing on it.
• Do not drop the scale or subject it to violent shocks.
• For accurate weighing, the scale must be placed on a flat, stable surface.
• Weight exceeding the maximum capacity (440 lb/200 kg) may damage your scale.
• The scale is not waterproof so avoid contact with excessive moisture.
• Never place the scale close to heat-radiating appliances.
• This scale is not intended for use by individuals with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or
deficiencies in experience or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety.
Scale Setup and Use
1. Remove the ready assembled scale out of its packaging.
2. Place the scale on a flat, firm surface. Ensure that the floor surface is free from moisture to avoid the possibility of
slipping.
3. Plug in the AC power adapter or insert four AA batteries into unit.
4. Select either pounds or kilograms with the toggle switch located on the bottom of the unit.

5. Use the POWER ON/OFF toggle switch located on the underside of the scale to activate the scale.

6. Turn on the scale by gently pressing the silver icon button located at the base of the scale.

7. Step on the scale and position your feet in a manner that will distribute your weight evenly over the entire scale
platform.
Normal Weighing Mode
Your current weight will be displayed in lb if you have pounds selected or kg if kilograms are selected.
8. Step off the scale. The current weight will be displayed.
Adult and Child Weighing Mode
9. Press the silver icon shown in Figure 3 to access Adult and Child weighing mode. The display will show 0.0.
10. Step on the scale again holding the child. The scale ignores the adult weight when the adult and child are weighed
together, leaving only the child’s weight.
11. Step off the scale and press the silver icon button again to zero out the scale and it will turn off.
12. When transporting the scale, turn the scale POWER ON/OFF toggle switch (shown in Figure 2) back to the of
position to maintain scale longevity.
Scale Care
Periodically wipe down the scale surface with a damp cloth to remove any dust. For stubborn soiling, apply some mild
detergent with a cloth. Store the scale in a clean and dry location.

Limited Warranty
Rice Lake Weighing Systems (RLWS) warrants that all RLWS equipment will operate per written specifications as confirmed
by the Distributor/OEM and accepted by RLWS. All systems and components are warranted against defects in materials and
workmanship for one (1) year.
RLWS warrants that the equipment sold hereunder will conform to the current written specifications authorized by RLWS.
RLWS warrants the equipment against faulty workmanship and defective materials. If any equipment fails to conform to these
warranties, RLWS will, at its option, repair or replace such goods returned within the warranty period subject to the following
conditions:
• Upon discovery by Buyer of such nonconformity, RLWS will be given prompt written notice with a detailed
explanation of the alleged deficiencies.
• Examination of such equipment by RLWS confirms that the nonconformity actually exists, and was not caused
by accident, misuse, neglect, alteration, improper installation, improper repair or improper testing; RLWS shall
be the sole judge of all alleged non-conformities.
• Such equipment has not been modified, altered, or changed by any person other than RLWS or its duly
authorized repair agents.
• RLWS will have a reasonable time to repair or replace the defective equipment. Buyer is responsible for shipping
charges both ways.
THESE WARRANTIES EXCLUDE ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NEITHER RLWS NOR DISTRIBUTOR WILL,
IN ANY EVENT, BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
RLWS AN D BUYER AGREE THAT RLWS’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE LIABILITY HEREUNDER IS LIMITED TO REPAIR OR
REPLACEMENT OF SUCH GOODS. IN ACCEPTING THIS WARRANTY, THE BUYER WAIVES ANY AND ALL OTHER CLAIMS TO
WARRANTY.
SHOULD THE SELLER BE OTHER THAN RLWS, THE BUYER AGREES TO LOOK ONLY TO THE SELLER FOR WARRANTY
CLAIMS.
NO TERMS, CONDITIONS, UNDERSTANDING, OR AGREEMENTS PURPORTING TO MODIFY THE TERMS OF THIS WARRANTY
SHALL HAVE ANY LEGAL EFFECT UNLESS MADE IN WRITING AND SIGNED BY A CORPORATE OFFICER OF RLWS AND THE
BUYER.
