42 HD. With its high -resolutio n panel, the 42”
plasma television d elivers an awes ome picture
quality that co mpares more th an favourably
with the competition.
With its range o f interfac es, the Re:c eption
plasma 42 HD can be fu lly integrate d into the
operating con cept of the Re :system M51.
Through the com bination of the se two Revox
components, a m atrix deter mines which inpu t
should be used to sw itch the plasm a television
on automaticall y for a particul ar source. Just
imagine. You want to wa tch a DVD and, wit h the
press of just one b utton, you ca n activate all t he
necessary c omponents. S it back, relax a nd
enjoy the fi lm!

With the Re: ception plasm a 42, a sophistic ated
design is combined w ith the use of high -quality
materials. The fi ltered glass sc reen with its b lack
surround that e mbodies a signifi cant element of
the design conce pt, seems to fl oat in front of th e
unit. The intri cate shaping of t he edge of the
glass, adds the fi nishing touch to its d esign.
The Re:cep tion plasma 42 HD is h eld securely in
place with brac kets made from s olid aluminium.
The lines of these b rackets are c ontinued
through with t he optional ped estal stand . And a
further desig n highlight of the uni t is the Revox
logo that is elegan tly etched in to the housing.
The operating k eys are integr ated into the
elliptical IR recei ver, allowing you to c ontrol the
unit without usin g a remote cont rol, if you want
to.

The heart of th e Re:cepti on plasma 42 HD, is the
high-resolut ion, 16:9 wide -screen pane l with
1024 x 768 pixels at a 42 ” diagonal and is one o f
the ways in which t he Revox plasma f ulfi ls all
the requiremen ts of the “HD rea dy” standar d.
The already ver y impressiv e contrast ra tio of
10000:1 is further subjectively amplifi ed by the
black frame, guar anteeing a tot ally unique pict u­re experience .
A double, integra ted tuner enabl es true pictur e­in-picture. A s well as the two t uners, the
Re:ceptio n plasma 42 HD also has a D VI-I input ,
which can be used f or HDMI with an ad apter,
two SCART in puts (RGB, C VBS) , one component
(YUV) or vid eo input as well as an S -video input .
The remarkabl e range of conne ction options
that the Re: ception plasma 4 2 HD has to offer i s
completed by three audio inputs, one audio out­put and an RS23 2 interface .

Technology

Material

As with all Revox pr oducts, only t he fi nest
materials are use d with the Re: ception plas ma
42 HD.
The lacquered b rackets, mad e from a single
piece of extru ded aluminium, are ce rtainly the
most conspicuo us component o f the Revox
plasma televisions. Whether wall-mounted or
sitting on the op tional pedes tal stand, the se
brackets give t he effect o f two hands,
powerfully ye t gently holding t he unit in place.
As well as giving the R e:ceptio n plasma 42 HD a
brilliant picture , the high-qualit y fi lter, made
from specially co ated safet y glass, also give s
the unit an optica l lightness.
The frame, wit h its special pow der coating is
similarly made of a singl e aluminium profi le.
Thanks to the sp ecial charact eristics of th e
profi le, the glass fi lter seems to fl oat in front of
the unit.
The class of the to tal product is u nderlined by
the logo that is bo th etched into t he optional 6
mm steel pedes tal stand and th e upper bracke t.

The Re:cep tion plasma 42 HD ’s double tuner
offers more us eful functi ons. So for inst ance, if
the actual prog ram is interr upted in PIP mo de, the
original channel c ontinues to be m onitored, in
order not to miss any thing when t he movie
resumes. At the s ame time, you can z ap through
other channels in the other screen.
In split-screen mo de, this allows you t o read
Teletext, while foll owing the pro gram visually at
the same time.
A particular fe ature is that yo u can scan thr ough
16 channels in small scre ens around th e main
picture. Thes e small images giv e an overvie w
about which pro grams are curr ently runnin g on
other channels so t hat no impor tant inform ation
need ever pass yo u by again.
The Re:cep tion plasma 42 HD al so has a DVI-I
input, which can b e used to feed v ideo signals
digitally into the p lasma.

Video sources w ith an HDMI out put can also be
connected dir ectly using th e supplied HDMI /DVI-I
adapter.
The integrat ed scaler displa ys all popular pic ture
formats curr ently, wheth er TV, DVD, PC or a hi gh­resolution for mat through Y UV or DVI- I.

Re:ception Pedestal Stand

The Re:cep tion plasma 42 HD is d elivered with i ntegrated w all-mountin g.
If you want to sta nd it on a piece of fu rniture, an op tional pedes tal stand is nee ded.
The pedestal s tand is made fr om 6 mm steel and ha s been designed t o fi t perfectly
into the overall de sign of the plasm a television. Th e line of the brack ets is continu ed
through into th e stand, so tha t with this opti on, the unit deliv ers a highly att ractive,
consistent design experience.
Just like the brack ets, the pede stal stand h as an etched Rev ox logo as well as a
special powder c oating, to com plete the unit y of design.

Re:control M208

A handy remote co ntrol is supplie d with the Re: ception plasm a 42 HD, which
can access all fun ctions simply.
The optional Re :control M 208 is a univer sal remote con trol for the com plete
Revox range. Op erational pro cedures are log ically progra mmed, so that as a
rule, the Revox pr oducts can be c ontrolled wit h the press of a sin gle button.
All other curren t Revox produc ts are integr ated, as well as th e Re:cepti on
plasma 42 HD.
As well as providin g status infor mation, the dis play additionall y offers the
option to retro spectivel y integrate f unctions tha t may be needed by f uture
applications. You c an also easily cont rol the Re:s ource M37 audio s erver
based on play list s, albums, genre or ar tist, using t he Re:cont rol M208.

A particular st rength of Rev ox products is
that they communicate with each other
over a bus. This enab les logical
operational pr ocedures to b e executed
with the press o f a single butto n.
If required, the R e:ceptio n plasma 42 HD
can be connect ed to the Re:s ystem M51
source managem ent using the Re :connect
M200 domotic i nterface.
All the differe nt audio and video s ources
are then integr ated into a matr ix, so that
the right pictu re is always combi ned with
the right sound, si mply and reliably. F or
example, pressi ng the DVD but ton on the
remote contr ol, starts th e DVD player,
switches the a mplifi er to the DVD input
and at the same time , switches th e
plasma unit onto th e correct inp ut. And
just to complete t he whole thing, t he
television is only switched on when there
is actually a DVD in t he drive. Wit h an
audio CD of course, o nly the sound is
produced. The screen remains switched
off.
You can defi ne a confi guration for each
source to speci fy whether t he screen
should be switch ed on or not. In thi s way,
you make the decisio n as to whether t he
correspondin g OSD should be sho wn for
example, when th e Revox Audio Ser ver is
accessed.
