Introduction
This PCI-Express 2.0 Usb 3.0 Host Controller Card c omplies with the Universal Serial Bus 3.0 Specification Revision 1.0 and PCI Exp ress Generation 2 Specifica tion. The Super Speed USB 3.0 standard oper ates at 5Gbps full-duplex mode and is 10 times faster than the USB 2.0 High-speed standard (480 Mbps). I t is also backwards compatible with current USB 2.0 d evices running at High­speed(480 Mb ps) , Fu ll-speed(12 Mbps), and Low-speed(1.5 Mbps) modes. This product is an ideal choice for a desktop computer that needs larger volume and higher speed data transfer connectivity with USB devices, such as external Hard Disk Drives, Solid State Drives, optical drives, and more.

Hardware In stallation
1. Turn off the power to y our computer
2. Unplug th e power cord and remove your computers c over
3. Locate an e mpty PCIe slot on the motherboard and remove the slot br acket. Save the bracket a nd scre w f or late r.
4. To install, carefully align the car ds bus connector with the sele cted PCIe slot on the motherb oard. Push the board down firmly.
5. Fasten the card to the computer case with the bracket screw you previously removed.
6. Connect the card to the Power Supply Unit via Molex connector.
7. Replace the computer cover and reconnect the power cord

Driver Installation
1. Insert the driver CD-ROM.
2. Find the Folder C:\Renesas\uPD72020x\ on the CD-ROM.
3. Double click the “stepup.exe” application to automatically install the drivers.
4. When the driver installation is complete, restart your compute r.
FAQ Question: “Do I need to connect the card to the PSU via Molex connection?” Answer: Yes, this device must be connected to the PSU to operate properly. If this
device is not supplied additional power the USB por ts may not function.
Question: I inst al le d the ca r d but it is no t rec ogn ize d in m y system? Answer: Try reseating the card into another PCIe slot if availab le. If that fails try
updating the motherboard/BIOS. Also e nsure that any optional system updates have been applied.
Question: I installed the car d an d the dri ve rs but t he de v ice is st i ll not wor k ing? Answer: Uninstall the device and drive rs from the system. Reinstall the device
and, manually install the drivers.
Question: I try to install the drivers for the device but receive a Code: 10 erro r? Answer: This indicates a failure with the drivers being installed. Please download
the latest dr ivers of the device and try again.

Question: The device installed properly but keeps disconnecting and reconnecting? Answer: Certain device will install properly ye t act buggy. To r emedy this problem download and, install the late st drivers for the device fr om the manufactur e r website.
