Introduction
Your Rega R1 bookshelf loudspeaker has been designed to be effective, easy to use, and above all, to reproduce music.
The R1 uses our signature mid range drive unit, the RR125. This unit offers greatly improved damping of cone resonances, resulting in a smoother midrange response. Its accurate low frequency combined with a very even, high quality treble unit generates a well balanced, enjoyable performance. It is these attributes which set the R1 apart from the competition, producing an extremely versatile, dynamic and musical sound.

Siting of the R1’s.
The R1 has an unusually even bass response for a small loudspeaker. This allows them to be mounted directly onto the wall, or alternatively to be placed on shelves or stands, allowing the user greater variation in positioning than normal.
Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping
The drive units in the R1 have been designed with great care. The crossover needs no additional filter networks to compensate for drive unit problems. Unlike most manufacturers who boast about the complexity of their crossovers, Rega are proud of the simplicity of theirs. This means that biwiring will offer no advantage, and will often give worse results at an additional cost.
