Introduction
The R7 loudspeakers have been designed to be
effective, easy to use, and above all to reproduce
music.
The R7 features a new three-way driver system
developed from our flagship loudspeaker the R9,
incorporating a quarter wave transmission line and
a single 7" side firing drive unit fitted with a 6 layer
voice coil in aluminium rather than copper, it needs
no additional crossover. This unique design
creates a natural bass extension, without
compromising any of the midrange and treble
which Rega is renowned for.

Siting of the R7’s.
The R7 loudspeakers use a 7” side firing bass
drive unit with a side firing port. Having a side drive
unit and port on the speaker would suggest facing
the two drive units outward, away from each other.
This can prevent mid range frequencies from
being directed at each other and causing potential
sound deficiencies that could occur if the two
speakers were in close proximity with each other.
However, there is really no written rule so on
installation you should experiment with different
positions to find the optimum placement that best
suits your needs.
The R7 is suitable for all room environments due
to it's ease of positioning and may be used with or
without grilles.
