CAUTION: When drilling holes in the frame, make sure that electrical wires are not damaged. If necessary, move them before drilling.
WARNING:
clearance with brake hoses. These tires must be mounted elsewhere.
1. Loosen or remove spare tire assembly.
FORD PICKUP EXCEPT FLARESIDE WITH ROLLED PAN
2. Clamp the hitch to the frame with the large holes over the rivet heads. Match drill six 1/2" holes in the frame flange.
3. Insert four 1/2" carriage bolts with bolt plates down through the front holes. Install flat washers, lock washers, and nuts on the bolts.
4. Insert two 1/2" bolts with flat washers and half hole spacers through the rear holes. Spacers level the washers on the crossmember.
Install flat washers, lock washers, and nuts. Go to step 5.
DODGE
2. Insert two 1/2" bolts with large spacers through the large holes (1-1/4") near the rear of the frame. Position the hitch on the bolts and
loosely install flat washers, lock washers, and nuts on the bolts.
HYDRAULIC BRAKE HOSES MUST NOT TOUCH THE SPARE TIRE. Some 'oversize' tires are too large and will not have safe

3. Push the hitch forward and center it on the frame. Tighten the rear nuts to hole it in place. Match drill four 1/2" holes for the front mounting
bolts. Insert four 1/2" carriage bolts with bolt plates down through the front holes. Install flat washers, lock washers, and nuts on the bolts.
See the diagram on the other side. Go to step 5.

2. Clamp the hitch to the frame so the brackets clear the rolled pan
and so the rear mounting bolt hardware will fit in the front of the

crossmember. The large hole in the bracket will be about 2-1/2”
ahead of the rivet.
3. Match drill six 1/2" holes in the frame flange. Insert 1/2" bolts
with flat washers or bolt plates as shown.
4. Lower one side of the hitch enough to install a large spacer on
the rear bolt and two flat washers on the center bolt. Lift the hitch
and install flat washers, lock washers, and nuts on the bolts.
Repeat for the othe side. Go to step 5.
FORD BRONCO
2. Clamp the hitch to the frame so the brackets are as far rearward
as possible. Match drill six 1/2" ho les in the frame flange.
3. Screw one of the 1/2" carriage bolts onto the pull wire provided.
Thread a bolt plate over the bolt. Insert the end of the pull wire up
beside the gas tank and down through one of the drilled holes, a
small spacer, and the bracket. Repeat for the other 5 mounting holes.
Use two 1/2" flat washers instead of small spacers on the middle

mounting holes for both brackets. See the diagram to the right.
4. Install 1/2" flat washers, lock washers and nuts on all six mounting
bolts. Go to step 5.
GENERAL
5. Torque 1/2" hardware to 70 ft.*lb.
6. Reinstall the spare tire assembly. It may be necessary to trim

the lifting socket (pipe) on the Ford spare tire bracket assembly.
The spare tire bracket on the Dodge may need to be relocated.

Reese warrants its Hitches, custom Hitch Receivers, and Sway Controls from date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and
service, ordinary wear and excepted, for the ownership life of the original consumer purchaser. Reese will replace FREE OF CHARGE any part which proves defective in
material or workmanship when presented to any Reese dealer, Reese Warehouse or return to factory. TRANSPORTATION CHARGES PREPAID, at the address
below. THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO DEFECTIVE PARTS REPLACEMENT ONLY. LABOR CHARGES AND/OR DAMAGE INCURRED IN INSTALLATION OR
REPLACEMENT AS WELL AS INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES CONNECTED THEREWITH ARE EXCLUDED. Some states do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Any damage to the Hitch, Custom Hitch receiver
or Sway Control as a result of misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, improper installation, or any use violative of instructions furnished by us, WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.
