IMPORTANT NOTES

Use only Reese supplied or approved bolts, locknuts, and washers to install this hitch. All "inch" bolts are grade 5 and metric bolts are class

10.9. Nuts are grade B and metric nuts are class 9 unless specified otherwise. Use toothed washers with bolts over all slots. Utility hitch bars must insert 5-1/4".

NOTE: This Universal Hitch Receiver will adjust to fit most Motor Homes with frames up to 46" wide outside to outside. Some

modification of existing equipment, such as skid plates, plumbing brackets, auxiliary power unit exhaust pipes or brackets, may be necessary on some Motor Homes.

THE ADEQUACY OF THE FRAME RAIL EXTENSIONS, AND THEIR ATTACHMENT TO THE FRAME RAILS, TO SUPPORT

THE CUSTOM HITCH RECEIVER IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INSTALLER.

1. Slip center section into side brackets. Hold assembly up to frame and determine that the hitch bar will clear the bumper; if not, provide suitable thickness spacers so that it will clear.

2. Position receiver assembly front to rear so that the hitch box is approximately flush with rear of bumper and mark position of rear edge of side brackets on frame rails. Rear end of side bracket shall not be less than flush with end of frame extension. Reposition receiver forward if required.

3. Clamp side brackets to frame extensions and transfer drill four 1/2" holes.

4. Screw pull wire onto 1/2" carriage bolt and insert thru bolt plate then down thru frame if required for assembly.

5. Install 1/2" toothed washers, 1/2" lock washers, and 1/2" nuts onto carriage bolts.

6. Center hitch box between side brackets and transfer drill two 1/2" holes into torsion tube.

7. Install two 1/2" bolts with toothed washers, 1/2" lock washers, and 1/2" nuts.

8. Torque four 1/2" nuts to 75 ft•lb. Torque two 1/2" bolts to 75 ft•lb.

WARNING: DO NOT WELD TO THE 2.50 TORSION TUBE, DO NOT DRILL IN TORSION TUBE EXCEPT AS NOTED.

This product 36010 hitch complies with safety specification and requirements for the State of New York and VESC regulation V-5 for connecting devices and towing systems. Weight carrying hitch rating is 5000 lb max gross trailer weight and 500 lb max tongue weight. Consult vehicle owner’s manual for towing recommendations and limitations.

LIMITED WARRANTY

Reese warrants its Hitches, custom Hitch Receivers, and Sway Controls from date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service, ordinary wear excepted, for the ownership life of the original consumer purchaser. Reese will replace FREE OF CHARGE any part which proves defective in material or workmanship when presented to any Reese dealer, Reese Warehouse, or returned to factory, TRANSPORTATION CHARGES PREPAID, at the address below. THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO DEFECTIVE PARTS REPLACEMENT ONLY. LABOR CHARGES AND/OR DAMAGE INCURRED IN INSTALLATION OR REPLACEMENT AS WELL AS INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES CONNECTED THEREWITH ARE EXCLUDED. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Any damage to the Hitch, Custom Hitch receiver or Sway Control as a result of misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, improper installation, or any use violative of instructions furnished by Reese Products, WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. In the event of a problem with warranty service or performance, you may be able to go to a small claims court, a state court, or a federal district court.
