The D SERIES-RC2ST is part of the group of versatile wall-mounted products from Radio Design Labs. The standard mounting case can be directly fastened in North
American electrical boxes or in RDL International wall boxes.

APPLICATION: The D SERIES-RC2ST is part of the RDL accessories group and is designed as a functional and

visual complement to many other RDL remote controls such as the D-RLC2, D-RLC3 or D-RLC10K Remote Level
Controls.

The -RC2ST is a wall-box mounted remote module designed to directly control any equipment which utilizes
pull-to-ground control switching.

The front panel of the -RC2ST features two pushbuttons with two associated LEDs. Upon initial power-up, source 1
is selected. Touching the other button de-selects source 1 and immediately selects source 2. An LED adjacent to
each button indicates which source is selected.

In a typical installation, the -RC2ST may be used to select between two audio or video sources, or to route audio to
two destinations. To select between two audio sources, the -RC2ST is connected to a RDL ST-SSR1 Solid-State
Audio Switch. For video switching, a RDL TX-MVX may be used. For audio routing, a RDL ST-RX2 is used. In each
of the above examples, only one output terminal is needed for triggering. Therefore a single shielded pair or
(3-conductor cable) is required for remote connection. For more complex switching networks, both outputs may be
used.

In a typical audio input installation, the -RC2ST is mounted adjacent to a RDL remote-level control, such as the
D-RLC2, D-RLC3 or D-RLC10K. The -RC2ST selects the audio source and the remote level control permits
adjustment of the level including turning the level fully off. (Note: The D-RLC2, D-RLC3 or D-RLC10K work in
conjunction with other RDL VCA modules, sold separately.)

The -RC2ST is constructed on a durable polycarbonate-faced, powder-coated steel panel. Electronics are housed in
a metal enclosure featuring a rear panel detachable terminal block for easy wiring. The attractive front-panel
graphics and quality construction make the -RC2ST the ideal choice in any high quality and economical
wall-mounted remote control installation.

Mounting
The D SERIES–RC2ST should be mounted in an RDL WB-1U wall box or equivalent. The ambient operating environment must not exceed 40 degrees C.

This drawing shows the -RC2ST controlling either a ST-SSR1 (audio selector), a TX-MVX (video selector), or both (video and
audio selected together). For stereo audio applications, two ST-SSR1s may be used. A broad range of additional applications is
possible using TRIG 1 and/or TRIG 2 to activate the SLAVE terminals on a wide variety of RDL modules.
