INSTALLATION
Compatibility:
Note that the supplied gimbal is only installable on NovaX 350 models that feature the quick release gimbal platform. Refer to the latest NovaX 350 operating instructions for more information.
1. Study the installation photos (step 1 – step 5) on the next page.
2. If you have an existing platform installed, remove it.
3. Place the slot holes in the platform over the studs. Then, slide the platform to the side, so that the studs enter the slots. Now, lock the platform with the lock lever (step 1). You must ensure that the lock lever is securely locked in the stud as otherwise the platform may come
off during ight!
» It may be necessary to move the installed receiver further towards the edge of the
NovaX 350’s bottom to make space for the gimbal connections.
4. Remove the bracket that secures the camera in the camera tray by removing the screws. Turn the gimbal arm so that the pitch motor (the one that controls the rotation of the camera tray) stands on the left side when you look at the camera tray.
If the pitch motor is not located on the left the gimbal will be damaged when you supply power.
You must install a camera and the antenna before you supply power to the gimbal or it will be damaged.
5. Install a camera into the camera tray and secure it with the bracket and screws. Connect the video cable to the camera’s video port. The video cable for GoPro
®
cameras is already installed on the gimbal. If you use a Yi camera use the video cable for Yi cameras instead. (step 2)
6. Install the antenna on the antenna port. Use the 90° SMA adapter or the SMA extension cable if needed. (step 3)
7. Remove the canopy of the NovaX 350 and locate the GIMBAL_X header on the PCB board.
8. Connect the 3-pin cable to the GIMBAL_X header (step 4). Mind the direction as indicated
on the board! Connect the other end to the port on the video transmitter. (step 5)
9. Install the canopy again.
10. Connect the Blue/Yellow/Black cable to the corresponding connector on the rear of the gimbal on the gimbal board if it is not already connected.
11. Secure loose cables with cable ties if needed.
12. The installation is complete.

OPERATION
Limitations
The current NovaX 350 rmware versions only allow for controlling pitch. Future rmware
versions will offer additional controls. Notes: If you use another receiver/transmitter set than the RC Logger 89102RC, it may be
capable of controlling all axes. Respective cables are included in the delivery contents. Make sure to connect the cables as shown in the section “Wiring Diagram”.
Checklist
Before you supply power take care of the following points:
» Is a camera installed? » Is the antenna installed? » Does the pitch motor point to the left? » Is the gimbal platform secured? » Is the camera secured?
Establish power supply
Connect the power cable to the JSTXH connector on the ight battery to supply the gimbal with power (step 6). Install a camera before you supply power to the gimbal!

Refer to www.yitechnology.com for more information.
Initialization
The gimbal is or needs to be initialized in the following situations:
> when powering it on for the rst time. > when powering it on and pitch or roll angle is not parallel to horizon line. > when in heading lock mode and heading angle does not lock (unstable).
Initialize the gimbal after mounting it to the NoxaX 350 as follows:
1. Place the NovaX 350 on a at and even surface.
2. Keep the gimbal motionless.
3. Establish power supply.
4. Do not move the gimbal and it initializes automatically.
5. Upon completion, pitch and roll angles are parallel to the horizon line and heading follow mode is activated.
Adjusting the channel of the video transmitter
1. If the gimbal is installed, disconnect the power supply and then remove the gimbal.
2. Locate the video transmitter and channel switches.
3. Adjust the channel to your required frequency. See the below displayed switch combinations.
