Battery Back-Up Operation

This clock radio is equipped with a
memory holding system that can be
powered with 2 “AA” batteries (included
and installed). The power failure
protection circuit will not operate unless
battery is installed. When normal
household power is interrupted, or AC line
cord is unplugged, the batteries will
power the clock radio to keep track of
time and alarm settings programmed into
memory. When the battery backup
functions, the digital display will not light,
however, the function of alarm still occurs
during the power interruption if
remaining battery power is adequate.
Normal operation will resume after AC
power is restored so you will not have to
reset the time or the alarm.

Replace batteries as follow:

1. Remove battery compartment door
(located at the bottom of the radio)
by applying thumb pressure to the
tab on battery door and then lift the
door out and off the cabinet.

2. Insert 2 AA batteries.

3. Replace the compartment door.

Note: we recommend that you replace the
batteries every 2-3 years.

Power is fed to the unit even
when it is not functioning. To cut
the power supply off, the power

cable must be unplugged.

Power Failure Indicator

When AC power is interrupted (disconnected)
for a short period of time, both time and
alarm settings will change (unless batteries
are installed). After AC power is restored
(reconnected), the Digital Display will blink to
indicate that power was interrupted and you
should readjust the time and alarm settings.

General Controls

Top View

OFF - turns the unit off.
FWD - sets time (increases value).
SNOOZE/PROJECTION - enters snooze mode

where the alarm will quiet but sound again
once the snooze period is over; turns on the
projector for about 10 seconds when it is
switched off.

REV - sets time (decreases value).

RADIO/AUX - turns unit on; selects radio or

AUX mode.
WAKE - OFF - activates, deactivates and

sets wake function.

/WAKE1/WAKE2/ - slide switch to lock
setting and to set Wake 1, Wake 2 and clock
time.

NAP - activates NAP function.
SLEEP - activates sleep function.



Wake Function

SmartSnooze

This operation allows extra sleep time
after the wake function is on. The alarm
will be off by pressing SNOOZE, NAP,
SLEEP, REV or FWD until the
snooze period is over. Snooze function can
be used repeatedly up to 30 minutes
(default: 9 minutes).

Set the “quiet” period as follow:

1. Press and hold SNOOZE.

2. Press REV or FWD to set the
quiet period. The time decrements or
increments will follow by a faster rate
when you press and hold the buttons.

Operation

Switching Off Wake Function

Press WAKE - OFF 1 or 2 repeatedly on
the top of the unit until no wake mode icon
shows on the display.

Sleep Function

In sleep mode, you can set the duration
(up to 2 hours) before the radio turn off
automatically.

1. Press and hold SLEEP on the top of the
unit and use REV or FWD to set
the duration up to 2 hours (default: 59
min). The time decrements or
increments will follow by a faster rate
when you press and hold the buttons.
Note: The radio will be switched on.

2. To check the remaining duration before
the radio turns off, press and hold SLEEP.

3. To cancel the sleep function, press
SNOOZE or OFF.

Clock

Before You Plug for Power

1. Setting Time Zone

You may slide the TIME ZONE selector at
the back of the unit to Eastern (EST),
Central (CST), Mountain (MST) or Pacific
(PST) (refer to the maps on the right).

2. Daylight Saving

You can slide the DST switch at the back
of the unit to turn on/ off in areas
observing/ not observing such time
change.

WARNING: Please avoid playing with
these buttons after entering the
Clock/Alarm set mode.

Auto Clock Set

You do not have to set the clock time as a
built-in automatic time set system is
equipped in this clock powered by 3V (2
X AA batteries, included and installed). All
you have to do is to plug this clock for
power and current time will be shown
automatically.
However, the batteries can also be
exhausted and we recommend that you
replace the batteries every 2-3 years. In
case the memory holding batteries are
accidentally removed, you may set the
clock manually with following procedures:

Setting Clock

1. Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/
on the top of the unit to clock
position.

NAP Function

This function wakes you up after a short
period of time (from 10 minutes to 2
hours).

1. Press NAP on the top of the unit and
use REV or FWD to set the
duration up to 2 hours (each press
decreases or increases duration by 10
minutes).

2. The clock time shows after a few
seconds if no button is pressed. NAP
icon shows on the display to indicate
the function is activated.

3. To check remaining nap time, press
NAP once to show the time on the
display briefly.

and hold the buttons. The “:” between
hour and minute time flashes when you
are setting the time. AM or PM icon will
also beside the time.

3. Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/

Clock Projector

A clock projector is located on the left side of
the unit. Clock time can be projected onto
ceilings or walls for easy reference. The
distance between the projector and the
projected surface should be within 2.6 to 9
feet (0.8m to 2.8m) .

The projector can be rotated 90o forward or
backward. Slide the PROJECTOR switch to
turn on or off the projector. To rotate the
projected image, press ANGLE repeatedly.
Each press will rotate the image by 90o.

The clock time can also be displayed
temporarily from the projector even if it is
switched off. Press SNOOZE/PROJECTION
once to display the clock time for about 10
seconds.

4. When the alarm sounds, press OFF to
switch it off.

•To cancel the function before the nap
time ends, press and hold NAP until no
NAP icon shows on the display.

Slide the AM/FM switch on the back of the
unit to select AM or FM band.

Tuning the Radio

Turn the TUNING knob on the right of the
unit to adjust radio frequency. Radio
frequency shows on the display.

The power cord acts as your FM antenna.
The power cord picks moderate to strong
stations and eliminates the need for an
external antenna in most strong signal
areas. Be sure the power cord is stretched
out to its full length. Changing position of
the power cord may improve reception.

Built-In AFC

The Built In Automatic Frequency Control
(AFC) works only on FM. It helps reducing
drift on FM reception and keeping the

Auto Brightness Control

Clock time and radio frequency are
display on the display area at the front of
the unit. The display brightness can be
adjusted automatically by analyzing the
intensity of surrounding light sources.

Thermometer Thermometer

Indoor Temperature

The main unit has an internal
thermometer that shows the current room
temperature at the lower left of the
display indicated by “IN”.

Outdoor Temperature

Install 2 “AAA” batteries (not included) in
the thermometer.

1. Unscrew at the battery compartment
to open the door.

2. Install two “AAA” batteries by
referring to the indications in the
compartment.

3. Replace the battery compartment door
of the thermometer and secure closing
with the screw.

Once the main unit (clock radio) is
plugged for power, it can automatically
synchronize with the digital thermometer
(with batteries installed) to show the
temperature. You do not need to do
anything.

A separate digital
thermometer is
included which can
remotely transmit
temperature
information to the
main unit and shows
at the lower right of
the display indicated
by “OUT”.

However, if you find abnormal temperature
display on the main unit, you may
synchronize the temperature manually by
following the steps below:

1. At the main unit (clock radio):
press and hold ID until the temperature
display “- - -” at the lower right of the
display starts scrolling.

2. At the digital thermometer: Unscrew
at the battery compartment to open the
door. Press and hold ID inside the battery
compartment until the antenna icon on
the display of the thermometer flashes.
Synchronization starts automatically and
should be finished within several seconds.

• When synchronization succeeds, the
antenna icon stops flashing and the
synchronized temperature shows on the
main unit.

3. If synchronization fails (no temperature
shows on the main unit), perform step 2
again.
If synchronization still fails after several
attempts and the temperature display
“- - -” on the main unit stops scrolling and
starts to flash, you have to perform both
steps 1 and 2 again.

Line Out Temperature Sensor

If you are going to install the
thermometer outdoor with extreme
temperatures (below 14oF (-10oC) ), the use
of line out temperature sensor (included)
is recommended to avoid battery failure.
Insert the sensor connector to the receptor
(below ID button) in the battery
compartment. The sensor wire should be
extended from battery compartment
through the hole at the lower left of the
door.

it is tuned.
When tuning in FM stations, you may notice
that the station you are tuning can
be well-tuned on two or three nearby
points on the dial. Always tune carefully
at the loudest and clearest point.

AM Antenna

A built-in ferrite rod antenna eliminates the
need for an outside antenna for AM
reception. Rotating the unit slightly may
improve reception of distant AM stations.

Listening to Auxiliary Source

1. Connect your auxiliary source (e.g. mp3
player) to the AUX input jack on the right
side of the unit.

2. Turn on the unit and your auxiliary source.

3. Press RADIO/AUX to switch to listen to
auxiliary source. The AUX indicator on the
front display will turn on. Press again to
switch back to listen to the radio.

Slide AUTO DIMMER on the back of the unit
to ON position to activate the function.

Placing thermometer

The digital thermometer can be fixed on walls
with the included holder (screws not
provided). If you are placing it outdoor,
ensure that it does not get wet by rain and is
not under direct sunlight.

If you are using the line out temperature
sensor, place the thermometer indoor and
extend the sensor wire outside the window.

Tips:

• The thermometer sends the
latest temperature information to

the main unit every 35 seconds.
There may be delay on the main unit to
show the most updated temperature
changes.

• When the outdoor temperature display
is flashing on the main unit, there may be
no signal receiving from the digital
thermometer. Please make sure the
batteries of the thermometer are not
empty and the thermometer is not placed
too far from the main unit and without
obstacles between them.

Note: Both the main unit and

thermometer will show “LLL” if

temperature is lower than -58oF

(-50oC) and will show “HHH” if it

is higher than 140oF (60oC).

Wake Function

Setting Wake Time

This unit allows two wake times to be set.

1. Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/
on the top of the unit to WAKE 1 or
WAKE 2 position.

2. Press REV or FWD to set the
respective wake time. The time
decrements or increments will follow
by a faster rate when you press and
hold the buttons. The “:” between
hour and minute time flashes when
you are setting the time.

3. Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/
on the top of the unit to position
when finished.

Selecting Wake Source

You may be woken up by radio or alarm.

1. Select an AM or FM station (see
directions on “Radio”).

2. Set a wake time (see above directions).

3. Press WAKE - OFF 1 or 2
repeatedly on the top of the unit to
select a waking mode. Corresponding
icon lights on the front of the unit.

Checking Wake Time

Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/
on the top of the unit to WAKE 1 or
WAKE 2 position to check the currently
set wake time.

What your warranty covers:

• Defects in materials or workmanship.

For how long after your purchase:

• One year from date of purchase.

The warranty period for rental units begins with
the first rental or 45 days from date of shipment to
the rental firm, whichever comes first.

What we will do:

• Provide you with a new, or at our option, a

refurbished unit. The exchange unit is under
warranty for the remainder of the original
product’s warranty period.

• Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or

receipted invoice which is evidence that the
product is within the warranty period must be
presented to obtain warranty service. For rental
firms, proof of first rental is also required.

How to make a warranty claim:

• Properly pack your unit. Include any cables, etc.,

which were originally provided with the product.
We recommend using the original carton and
packing materials.

• Include evidence of purchase date such as the bill

of sale. Also print your name and address and a
description of the defect. Send via standard UPS
or its equivalent to:
