To install the batteries:
1. Turn the mit oveq, and remove
the battery compartment
cover

Insert the battedes, matching the
batteries to the
(+)
and

marks
inside
the battery
case.
Note: Reprogrming may

1. Manuallytum
on the component you wish to
program the remote to
operate.
2. Find the three-digit
code for your brmd
of
TV,
VCR. DVD,
satellite receiver or cable box in
the
enclosed code lists.
3. Press
and hold the
CODE SEARCH
key until
the indicator light
tums on.
4. Release
the CODE SEARGH key.
5. Press
md release the TV,
VCR or
DBS.CABLE key. The
indicator light
blinks and then remains lit.
Nole: DBS references
satellite receiver
To
program
the DVD.AUX
key: Press the
DVD.AUX
key. The indicator
light continues
to blink
until you select the
conponent you
want the DVD.AUX
key to
control.
To
control
a
DVD,
press the VCR key. To
control a TV,
press
the TV kev
To control a satellite receiver
or cable bo4
press the DBS.CABLE key.
The
indicator light
stops blinking and remains
lit.
6. Enter the three-digit
code, using
the numeric
keypad.
After the code is
entered, the
indicator light
turns off.
7. Aim the remote
at the component
and
press the OFF.ON ke1.
The component
should tum off.
Note: If yow

for your brands.

not listed, try

If your TV, VCR, DVD, satellite receiver
or cable box does not respond after you
have tried all the
codes for
your
brands, or if your brmd is not listed, try
senching
for your code via the Code
Search
Entry
Method. To program your remote via the
Code Search Entry Method, follow these
steps:
Manually turn
on
the
component you
wish to
program
the remote to operate.
Press and hold
the CODE SEARCH
key
until
the
indicator light turns on.
Release the CODE SEARCH key.
Press and release the component key you
wish the remote
to control-TV, VCR or
DBS.CABLE key. The indicator
light blinks
once and remains lit.
To p.rogram the DVD'AUX
key: Press the
DVD'AUX key, followed by the component
key
you
wish
the DVD.AUX key to control.
For
DVD, press the DVD.AUX key, followed
by
the VCR
key. For an auxiliary
component
press the DVD.AUX key,
followed
by the corresponding component
key
(fl
VCR, DBS.CABLE).
5. Press and release the
OFF.ON
kev
until
the component tums
off.
Important You
may have to press the
OFF.ON
key
up
to 200
times.
6- When the component turns off, press the
ENTER key. The indicator light
turro off.

The Menu function
on
your
remote is used to make changes on selected
settings.
The MENU key operates in TV, VCR" DVD and DBS Modes.
Each menu vdies
from brand to brmd.
The TV Menu is
used to make changes in the TV
settings, such as changing color,
channels and timers. The DBS Menu navigates
through the Guide screens, to make
changes in the DBS settings,
such as channel lists and passwords. The VCR
and
DVD Menu makes
changes through the Navigation
screens, such as languages
and subtitles.
While in Menu Mode,
these keys fmction as follows:

To
use
the Menu
function, follow these steps:
1. Press the component button whose
menu you
wish to access
(TV,
VCR, DVD'AUX
or
DBS.CABLE).
2. Press the MENU
key. The menu of the chosen
component is shown.
Note: Some functions
of some brands may not be ful]y suppofred
3. To exit the menu mode press
the corresponding
component key
on the remote
(TV,
VCR,
DVD'AUX
or DBS.CABLE).
Special Notes for
Menu Use
o
1. In the
Menu Mode of RCA,
GE and PROSCAN TVs, pressing the MENU key
selects
the highlighted
item. The numeric keys nay
also be used to select the menu choice.
2. For SONY
conponents, pressing the ENTER key while
in Menu Mode returns
to the prevlous menu.
The RCU704 has a
SLEEP key, which automatically turns
off your TV at a duration
you
choose from 1 to 99 minutes.
To set the Sleep Timer, follow these
steps:
