SAFETY
Before operating, make sure the voltage requirement of the
AC adapter matches your local voltage. Disconnect the AC adapter immediately if liquid spills into
or onto the unit, or if an object falls into the unit. The unit should not be used until service by a qualified service personnel is completed. Do not open the cabinet. Lasers used in rays employed by
the unit may damage your eyes. Any servicing should be done by qualified service personnel. When you are not going to use the unit for a long period of
time, disconnect the AC adapter. The AC adapter is used as disconnect device and it should
remain readily operable during intended used. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely,the AC adapter should be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely.
PLACEMENT
Do not leave, mount or use the unit in places which are
extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid. Allow adequate air circulation to prevent internal heat build-

IF YOUR PRODUCT OPERATES ON BATTERIES, adhere to the following precautions:

Important Battery Precautions

and make sure they are inserted correctly. Mixing types or inserting incorrectly may cause them to leak. Discard any leaky or deformed battery immediately. They
may cause skin burns or other personal injury. Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as
sunshine, fire or the like. Please help to protect the envir onment by recycling or
disposing of batteries according to federal, state, and local regulations.

TO USE THE AC ADAPTER
T he s up pl i e d AC a d a pter operates on AC 120V. You can power your portable stereo system by plugging the detachable AC adapter into the AC inlet on the back of the unit and into a wall AC power outlet. Check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage. Make sure that the AC adapter is fully inserted into the unit.
USING THE BATTERIES
Insert 8 “C-Size” batteries in the
battery compartment. Be sure that the batteries are inserted correctly to avoid damage to the unit.
Always remove the batteries wh en un it wil l not be used for a long period of time , as this will cause leakage of the batte ries an d subse que ntly damage to your unit.
P layback would automatically come to a stop when the batteries have no more power. Replace all the batteries with new ones.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix ALKA LI NE , st andard (C AR BO N-ZINC) or
rechargeable (NICKEL-CADMIUM) batteries.
Warning: Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. Batteries may explode or leak.
Caution: Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Packaging and Shipping Instruction
When you send the product to the AVC service facility you must use the original carton box and packing material or an equivalent as designated by AVC.
Your Responsibility
(1) You must retain your bill of sale to provide proof of
purchase.
(2) These warranties are effective only if the product is
purchased and operated in the U.S.A. or Canada.
(3) Warranties extend only to defects in material or
workmanship, and do not extend to any product or parts which have been lost or discarded, or damage to product or parts caused by misuse, accident, improper operation or maintenance, or use in violation of instructions provided with the product, or to product which has been altered or modified without authorization of AVC, or to products or parts thereof which have had the serial number removed or changed.
Out of Warranty
All warranties implied by state law, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are expressly limited to the duration of the limited warranties set forth above. With the exception of any warranties implied by state law as hereby limited, the foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, guarantees, agreements and similar obligations of manufacturer or seller with respect to the repair or replacement of any parts. In no event shall AVC be liable for consequential or incidental damages. No person, agent, distributor, dealer or company is authorized to change, modify or extend the terms of these warranties in any manner whatsoever. The time within action must be commenced to enforce any obligation of AVC arising under the warranty or under any statute, or law of the United States or any state thereof, is hereby limited to one year from the date of purchase. This limitation does not apply to implied warranties arising under state law.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which may vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, when an action may be brought, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above provisions may not apply to you.

AVC MULTIMEDIA ("AVC") makes the following limited warranties. These limited warranties extend to the original consumer purchaser and is limited to non-commercial user of the product.
One Year Parts & Labor Warranty
AVC products purchased in the United States are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of their original retail purchase. If the unit fails to conform to this warranty, we will service the product using new or refurbished parts and products, at AVC's sole discretion.
During a period of one year from the effective warranty date, AVC will provide, when needed, service labor to repair a manufacturing defect at its designated Service Center. To obtain warranty service in the United States, you must first call our Customer Support Center at 1-877-252-6873, during the hours listed in the box below. The deternination of service will be made by AVC customer support.
PLEASE DO NOT RETURN YOUR UNIT TO AVC WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION. New or remanufactured
replacements for defective parts or products will be used for repairs by AVC at its designated Service Center for one year from the defective warranty date. Such replacement parts or products are warranted for an additional one year from the date of repair or replacement. The Customer will be required to ship the unit to the Service Center indicated at the time Customer Support is contacted to make the necessary repairs. The customer is responsible for all transportation charges to the service facility.

ATTENTI ON: To play a CD, you must disconnec t any device from the LINE-IN jack. This product has a “smart­sense” fe ature , wh ere it pi cks LIN E- IN as the aud io source if a device is connected to the LINE-IN jack.
1. Slide the function selector to LINE-IN/CD. After a short
time, the “- -” icon will blink on the display.
2. Open the CD door. Place a disc in the center with the label side facing up and then close the CD door gently.
3. Then the total track no. is shown on the display.
4. Press the button to start playback.
• Adjust the VOLUME.
TO PAUSE PLAYBACK
• Press the button while a CD is playing to pause play.
• To resume playback, press the button again.
TO STOP PLAYBACK
• Press the button.
TO SKIP TO A DIFFERENT TRACK
• Press the button to skip to the start of the current track or previous tracks. Press the button to skip to the next track.
TO LOCATE A PARTICULAR POINT ON A TRACK
• P ress and hold the or button during playback, according to the des ire d dir ect ion, and releas e at th e desired point.
TO CLEAN THE UNIT
Do not use volatile chemicals on this unit. Clean by lightly wiping with a soft cloth.
TO CLEAN THE CD
If the CD skips or will not play, the disc may need to be cleaned. Before playing, wipe the disc from the center outward s with a cleaning cloth. After playing, store the disc in its case.
TO HANDLE THE DISC
Only to uc h the CD on the edge to avo id finger prints on its surface. Do not stick paper or tape nor write anything on the surface.
TO CONNECT TO LINE IN FOR OTHER SOUND SOURCES
Yo u can con nect audi o devices such as yo ur iPod, CD players or MP3 players to the unit through the LINE IN jack. Use a Line-in cable (not supplied), connect the LINE IN jack on the back panel to the Line Out or Earphone jack of the other audio devices.
TO LISTEN TO THE CONNECTED DEVICE
1. Slide the fu nct ion sel ect or to LIN E-I N/CD mode. This
product has a “smart-sense” feature, where, if the LINE-
IN jack has a connection, it will select LINE-IN instead of Radio or CD.
2. Turn on the audio device you have attached to the LINE IN jack.
TO REPEAT CURRENT TRACK
• Press the button once during playback, the REPEAT ONE “ • ” indicator will blink.
TO REPEAT THE ENTIRE CD
• P r es s the but to n a sec ond time to re peat all tr ac ks , the REPEA T AL L “ • ”
indicator will light up and remain on.
TO CANCEL PLAYBACK MODE
• Press the button until the “ • ” indicator is turned off.
Note: Repeat play can only be done when the unit is in the play mode.
All tracks on the disc can be played in random order.
RANDOM PLAYBACK
• Press the button. All tracks will be played randomly.
After all tracks have played, the unit will stop automatically.
CANCEL RANDOM PLAYBACK
• Press the button again during RANDOM playback to return to normal playback.

SOLUTIONS
• Make sure AC adapter is secure in the outlet
and inlet has power.
• Batteries may be dead. Install new batteries.
• Make sure the function selector is set to CD
position.
• Make sure LINE IN jack is disconnected.
• Make sure disc is clean and undamaged.
• Make sure printed side of disc is facing up.
• Make sure PAUSE mode is not activated.
• Make sure the unit is on a secure spot.
Vibration or jarring can cause the disc to skip.
• Elect ri ca l interfe re nc e in you r hom e ca n
cause poor reception. M ove the unit away from them (especially those with motors and transformers).
• Reposition or turn the unit for better reception.
