INSTALLING THE
BATTERY
1. Slide off the battery compartment
cover .
2. Connect a 9-volt alkaline battery
(Cat. No. 23-553) to the battery
connector. Then place the battery in the compartment.

detector to your alarm system.

MOUNTING THE
DETECTOR
To ensure the siren detector detects the smoke alarm when it
sounds, mount the detector 4–6
inches from a UL-approved smoke
alarm (Cat. No. 49-466).
Follow these step s to mount the detector.
1. At the desired mounting location,

until it is secure.
After you mount the siren detector,
be sure you test it as described under “Testing” on Page 12.

until its siren sounds. The indicator
on the siren detector flashes briefly
and the base sounds an alarm.
