Your RadioShack High Power Stereo Speaker Control
Center lets you connect up to four separate pairs of
speakers to your stereo receiver/amplifier. The control
center is especially convenient if you have speaker set s
in different rooms an d want to t urn them on and of f independently.
The control center lets you use one to four sets of spe akers at a time, and is designed to operat e with a stere o receiver/amplifier that has a maximum of 100 watts per
channel, and with speak er sys tems that have a min imum
impedance of 8 ohms (see “Impedance Chart” on
Page 2).

MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
The control center divides the po wer from your receiver/
amplifier differently to its speaker terminals. (This is especially noticeable when you connect only one pair of
speakers. If you connec t mo r e tha n on e pai r of s pea ke rs ,
see “Impedance Char t” on Page 2 to select the best terminals to connect.) F or the best performance, make t he
connections based on how frequently you use each set of
speakers.
• Connect the most frequently used speakers to the
terminals marked
• Connect the speak ers you use leas t often to the te rminals marked
• Connect any other speakers to the terminals mark ed
SPK B
and C.
Cautions:
To avoid damaging y our s pe ak er s or r ec eiver /

Notes:
• If your receiver/amplifier has more than one set of
speaker terminals (
A
and B), connect only one or the
other to the control center.
• For the best res ults, we recommend 18-gauge, two
conductor speake r wire (not supplied) for most connections. If you plan to locate the speakers further
than 80 feet from the control center, use a heavier
gauge of wire.
Your local RadioSh ack store carries a wide selection of
speaker wire and accessories.

IMPEDANCE CHART
Impedance is a measureme nt of the load plac ed on your
receiver/amplifier by the speakers. The load placed on
your receiver/amplifier from the control center will vary
depending on how many pairs of speakers you turn on at
one time, and on which sp eakers you tu rn on. The chart
below shows the impedance for all possible combinations
of 8-ohm speakers.
