Thank you for purchasing the RadioShack Portable Folding Amplified Speake r System. It is ideal f or use with your note book computer or personal stereo. The dual 2 1/4-inch (57 mm) full-range speakers are for use near a notebook computer. The built-in cable allo ws easy connection and cable storage. And, for your convenience, the speakers fold to fit into the supplied carrying pouch.

1.Slide the power switch to OFF.
2.Remove the battery compartment cover.
3.Install three AA batteries, matching the polarity (+ and -) symbols marked inside the battery compartment.
5.Slide the power switch to ON.
1.Slide power to OFF and turn the volume down.
2.Place the opened speakers on a level surface.
3.Insert the stereo plug into the audio output jack of your notebook computer or personal stereo.
4.Slide power to ON.
5.Adjust the volume as desired.
6.To disassemble the speaker system, slide power to OFF. Then, disconnect the stereo plug from the audio output jack and route the speaker cable along the recess of the left speaker cabinet.
7.Place the stereo plug into the plug holder, and then close the speaker cabinets.

You also can power the system using a 6V, 300mA AC adapter and a size M Adaptaplug (neither supplied). Both are available at your local RadioShack store.

1.Attach a size M Adaptaplug to the adapter, with its tip set to positive.
2.Slide the power switch to OFF. Then, connect the AC adapter’s barrel plug to the portable system’s DC 6V jack.
3.Plug the other end of the AC adapter into a standard AC outlet.

1.Connect the DC adapter (not supplied) cord’s barrel plug to the speaker system’s DC 6V jack .
2.Unplug the cigarette lighter and plug the large end of the DC adapter into the cigarette lighter socket.
CAUTIONS:
• Y ou must use a Class 2 power source that supplies 6V DC and delivers at least 300 mA. Its cent er tip must be set to positive and its plug must fit the system ’s DC 6V jack. Using an adapter that do es
not meet these specifications can damage the system or adapter.
• Do not leave the adapter plugged into the cigarette lighter socket or connected to the speaker system when you are not using it.

• Keep your speaker system dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
• Use and store your speaker system in room temperature environments only.
• Handle your speaker system carefully; do not drop it.
• Keep your speaker system away from dust and dirt.
• Wipe your speaker system with a dry cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
Do not use a vacuum cleaner to clean your speaker system. It might cause permanent damage.

• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type.
