 CAUTIONS 

Using Batteries

• To avoid damage to the system, remove the
batteries if you do not plan to use the
speakers for a month or more, or if you plan
to use AC or 12-Volt DC power.

• Use only fresh batteries of the required size
and recommended type.

• Do not mix old and new batteries, different
types of batteries, or rechargeable batteries
of different capacities.

Using AC Power

•You must use a Class 2 power
source that supplies 9V DC and

delivers at least 500 mA. Its center

tip must be set to positive and its
plug must fit the system's DC 9V 500 mA
jack. Using an adapter t hat does not meet
these specifications could damage the
system or the adapter.

• Always connect the AC adapter to the
system before you connect it to AC power.
When you finish, disconnect the adapter
from AC power beforeyou disconnect it from
the system. Follow these steps to power° the
systemfromanACoutlet.

Using DC Power

• You must use a power source that supplies
9V DC and delivers at least 500 mA. Its
center tip must be set to positive and its plug
must fit the system’s DC 9V jack. Using an
adapter that does not meet these
specifications could damage the system or
the adapter.

• Your vehicle must have a 12-Volt DC,
negative-ground electrical system.

• Always connect the DC adapter to the
system before you connect it to the power
source. When you finish, disconnect the
adapter from the power source before you
disconnect it from the system.

speakers for the amplifier to function.

• If the sound becomes weak or the green
indicator dims, replace the batteries.

properly. Do not bury or burn them.

• When you connect the adapt er to AC power,
the battery power is automatically
disconnected.

Using Batteries

You can power the speaker system withfour
C batteries (not supplied). Batteries are
available at your local RadioShack store or
online at www.radioshack.com.

1. Slide the battery compartment cover
(on the back of each speaker) in the
direction of the arrow and remove the
cover.

2. Install two C batteries as indicated by
the polarity symbols(+ and –) inside the
compartment.

3. Replace the cover.

Ô NOTES Ô

• Before making connections , make sure the
audio source’s power is off and its volume
control is set to its minimum level.

• If the audio source is stereo, the speaker
with the built-in amplifier is the right speaker.

• The system’s volume varies with the audio
source’s volume level. Use the audio
source's volume control to set the volume.

• If the audio source’s output power does not
exceed 750 mW, you can use the speakers
with POWER set to OFF. Volume will be
lower than if you used the speaker system’s
built in amplifier.

 CAUTION 

You might permanently damage your speakers
by cleaning t hem witha vacuum cleaner. Use a
feather duster or a soft loose cloth instead.

3. Plug the adapter’s large plug into the
vehicle’s cigarette-lighter socket.

OPERATION

CARE

Keep the speaker system dry; if it gets wet,
wipe it dry immediately. Use and store the
system only in normal temperature
environments. Handle the system carefully;
do not drop it. Keep the system away from
dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth
occasionally to keep it looking new.

 PRECAUCIONES 

Empleo de pilas

• Para evitar dañar el sistema, retire las pilas
si no piensa utilizar los altavoces durante
un mes o más, o si piensa utilizar corriente
alterna o corriente continua de 12 voltios.

• Solamente utilice pilas nuevas del tamaño
requerido y del tipo recomendado.

• No mezcle pilas nuevas y viejas, diferentes
tipos de pilas o pilas recargables de
diferente capacidad.

Empleo de corriente alterna

También puede conectarse el sistema a una toma
de corriente alterna estándar mediante un
adaptadorde C.A. (no vieneincluido), el cual puede
encontrarse en cualquier tienda RadioShack de la
localidad.

Empleo de corriente continua

Se puede alimentar el sistema a partir de una
fuente de 12 voltios de C.C. de un vehículo
(como el enchufe del encendedor de cigarros)
con un adaptador de 9 voltios, 500 mA de C.C.
(no viene incluido), el cual puede encontrarse en
cualquier tienda RadioShack de la localidad.

3. Para encender el amplificador, oprima el

las luces indicadoras.

4. Para mejorar la respuesta de baja
frecuencia, oprima el botón BASS
[GRAVES] de manera que permanezc a
adentro.

Para regresar a la respuesta normal, oprima
de nuevo el botón BASS de manera que
salga.

5. Para mejorar la respuesta de altafrecuencia,
oprima el botón TREBLE [AGUDOS] de
manera que permanezca adentro.
